Awesome video- I have wondered about the “right” color for pinks and coho. Do you have a point of view on using “UV” material or is standard dye material work okay? And, what shade of pink do you recommend- fl pink, salmon pink, cerise?
Thanks - I really enjoyed the footage. Curious about whether you you fish the silvers with poppers at all? I just got back from a place on the Alaska Peninsula where I've fished for many years. I do pink poppers almost exclusively and it's such a blast. I'm wondering if the silvers in the stream(s) you were fishing would respond to topwater.
Yes, they didn’t seem to respond much this time, but there were very few in the rivers because of the lack of rain. I’m sure if we had stuck with them longer we could have picked up a few, but the numbers just didn’t make it very efficient for our trip.
Man, you have to be unburdened by what has been, and the click has been, therefore there's no need to be burdened, but rather unburdened by that that which has been

This is the most informative salmon fly fishing video anyone could ask for. Thank you so much for the in depth detail!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! here in the great lakes black wollybuggers/black-chartreuse egg sucking leeches are the bomb!
I haven’t seen black be as effective for Alaska, but I will have to test it some more next year.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching

I guided for Salmon and Halibut for 11 seasons out of Craig, and Ketchikan. I miss it.
Great video, thanks for breaking it down!

Awesome video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Will ocean run salmon eat flys? I live near the coast
I have often hear that coho will only bite at dawn/dusk, have you found this to be true?
