This is a great show. I have watched so many of these Chinese drama's but there was always one point that I could not accept and that was the medical diagnoses these doctors gave just through your pulse. Boy did I learn that in fact detect a lot of things through pulse. Traditional Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis is one of the four major assessments in tcm consultation. Through pulse palpation at three locations, i.e. cun, guan and chi, on both wrists, general health condition of a person and a particular organ can be fully recognized. The main sites for pulse assessment are the radial arteries in the left and right wrists, where it overlays the styloid process of the radius, between the wrist crease and extending proximal, approximately 5 cm in length. What you can not detect is if someone is pregnant that is impossible until the baby bump appears. Nor could you tell what sex it was. The only complaint I have about this entire phenomenal series is why did they use so much lightening make up on the two main leads it made them look ill on some occasions it was to much.
