Always one of the best games of the year. I might be in the minority here, but I would love to see the Air Force and the Citadel also involved in some traditional postseason play. Maybe a four team armed services playoff between Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Citadel/Marines.
I'm an Army boy, so I love saying this out loud. Marines are a part of the navy. Also, all three teams do play for the CIC trophy. It's just that the Army and Navy have had a football rivalry longer than the Air Force has been around. 124 years, to be precise. So that's why this game is so important. In fact, Army and Navy like to stop wars for a day to watch this game.😂 Fun side note that makes Army and Navy angry Air Force has the most CIC Trophies (If I am remembering correctly)
Similar to games like Florida Georgia, Army-Navy, etc, I think that if UConn and UMass grow their football programs, then UConn-UMass should become one of those big events. It would probably be held here every year!
Navy figured out too late that Army didn't know how to play pass defense. Army moving to the AAC starting 2024 better hire someone who knows how to defend the pass. I don' t know what the hell Army's #2 was doing - at the snap, he ran to give the Navy a 20-yard cushion; I have to assume that's what he was told to do.
Playing far back was a safe call, but you can see that you just let them do that too much with no pressure, when they were down 2 touchdowns, I would've mixed in at least one blitz, and if armys defense stopped them the first drive, that might have closed the door or army offense burned more time off the clock, non the less, mistakes on both sides haha
I really enjoyed the game. Good football played hard and clean. No lining up and throwing down after down. Actual blocking and pushing the ball down field. Not a bunch of show boating thugs playing for their homies. I will take that game anyway day over the ncaa of the nfl any afternoon. Your highlights were great. The only thing greater are all of the players!
Only thing I never understood when it comes to Army vs Navy games is why don’t they ever throw the football. 😂 they just be smashing each other out there, still you gotta love it.
How do you call that as the ball not touching a returner? The second angle made it obvious. The ball physically can not move in that fashion unless it is contacting something😂😂
I got into football recently and was curious why they run the football so much instead of pass plays. Is it a tradition amongst the army and the navy to go each other mainly with run plays??
The players are in school at West Point and the Naval Academy; none of them are in the Army or Navy until they graduate from West Point or the Naval Academy.
Going for 2 points on the prior touchdown before was a mistake. Should have took the point that got within one score. Even if they did score on the last drive, they still had to go for 2 after just to tie.
@@edapostle5349 If they had to go for the win during regulation, they could have during the second TD (if they got it). Them not making the 2 points put way to much pressure on them.
