I always found the Bowser Jr. dilemma sad. He knew Peach wasn't his mother from the get-go but he played along with the idea, not because of his dad's scheme but what is implied is that he did it for himself. He liked the idea of having Peach as a mother because he spent most of his life so far with the missing mom mystery. Some of his actions really show he cares for Peach and just wanted to experience what it was like to have a mother. What makes this unusual in Peach's part is did anyone notice how she never flat out refused the notion of being Bowser Jr.'s mother despite even if she was, you'd think she'd remember giving birth? Even if the physical possibility is known to be impossible, she still doesn't hold it against Jr. for claiming her as his mother. She seemed a little accepting of it though it would have gone over better had she not been kidnapped when he exclaimed the information that he wanted her as his mother.
I feel like her reaction was just innocent cluelessness, and that was why she didn’t deny it. Also she isn’t exactly portrayed as the brightest person.

Man, I never could finish the game because my gamecube didn't have a memory card. Now that I own a switch and have the game, I decided to play it and finish it. Right after the last fight, I burst in tears. My childhood dream finally became true and now I was looking at that ending screen that I always dreamed of since I was a kid.

First of all I purchased a GameCube on day 1 and I bought Super Mario Sunshine when it first came out. The graphics were Amazing. The gameplay is still amazing! It's funny how todays games (I currently own the Switch and xbone) makes the graphics look dated when you look at it again. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because I play games for the gameplay and fun factor, I could care less about the graphics, but I just find it amusing how back in the day, these graphics were the bomb! Hell when I first got my SNES/N64, it was the same situation with that too. In 10 years I can't wait to see what that does to todays games. Their is no point in this post, but being a gamer since the SNES days, I really experienced a lot and witnessed a lot of changes over the years. And it takes a true gamer to appreciate that! :-)

Agreed. This is the only Mario game I've never played and I picked up the all stars collection, this one is absolutely awful. Its like Mario does dark souls. Some of it is brutally hard which I don't mind, but the hard bits are through bad design. I finished the game but there's no way I'm even going to attempt to 100% it.
As somebody who completed the game for the first time 100% like a year or something ago, I can kind of disagree (and that comes from somebody who isn't the best at platformers). A lot of shines are super easy, some are a bit challenging, some are really time consuming but there's only a handful of extremely tediously challenging shines that makes you want to destroy your controller. Especially some blue coins are basically in really tough locations and I often found myself going from the start all the way to the top like 10 times trying to get all the stuff and failing jumps. But I wouldn't say it was necessarily hard for most part, more like time consuming. The ending, is both very underwhelming but also touchy, maybe because I like the ending tune and the image, but yeah, nothing amazing.
21 years and I still haven’t beaten this game 😅. I always get stuck on the board with the electric goop, stop playing for months, restart to level 1 and get stuck again 😂. Nice to know how it ends.
You probably already did it but there's no specific amount of shines needed to beat Sunshine You just need to beat Shadow Mario in the 7th mission of each area
It's just sad when you think about it. Mario loses his allies, whom he considered as friends. F.L.U.D.D. dies because he somewhat got malfunctioned, the Lumas all sacrifice themselves to recreate the universe for Mario and his people. (SPOILERS) I know they come back to life but still, it's sad when you realize this.
out of the 4 classic 3D mario games this one is has the least dramatic final boss fight. in galaxy and 64, you're in a planet fighting bowser with intense orchestral music. in galaxy 2 you're in a tiny planet fighting an enormous bowser. here, it's just bowser chilling in his bathtub.

@@3lneln95 For me the most frustrating levels are the pachinko, the lily pad river, and the final boss. I quite enjoy most the rest of the game.
Sunshine was always my least favorite 3D Mario game. But it wasn't a bad game. It had great level design and a beautiful soundtrack.
