I stopped in may pen town one day in March 2021......across the street a dread had a single speaker box and a CD player......playing this gem. He stopped play for awhile and shifted to some gospel tracks. I got out of the car....hustled across the street and asked him to play it again......he looked at me surprised.......which one he asked? I said you just played some Alton Ellis medley.....play it again. He pulled a pile of cd’s and I paid him $150 Jamaican. I tipped him another $100........I am still enjoying this gem today. I grew up listening to these songs but in March they were candy to my ear and I had to have them.

I was lucky enough to catch an Alton Ellis performance in Long Beach, CA around 2008 or so. He opened for Luciano, and Luciano was great. But, Alton Ellis' set was truly magical never to be forgotten.

A lot of people does not know that Alton Ellis is singing from in the 1950s and, he was discovered by a Jamaican man named Vere Johns talent show at Ambassador Theatre. I grew up in Jamaica and heard a little about Vere Johns talent show found a few singers, he is one of cofounder of. A lot of top reggae singers in Jamaica, he left Jamaica living in the United States in 1924 long before Alton Ellis, Bob Marley, John Holt, and companies was born. He helped to developed the music in the United States ,where he was running a talent show naming Vere Johns talent show in New York city and. All over the United States and returned to Jamaica in 1939 were he started to run the Vere Johns talent show, where he found Alton Ellis, John Holt, and a couple more singers. I useto listened to his shows on the radio back in the days, he died in 1966 .Same year Haile Selassie came to Jamaica, I was a big school boy running, and playing cricket for my and club. Vere Johns talent show found a few singers in Jamaica and the United States, he is one who really the founder of the music in Jamaica to an extent. But the mento music is one of the oldest music in the world, and it is from the days of slavery .

Also when he sings with his brother, and sister from the days of the good old days in Trench Town. Music like this cannot grow old at all ,whenever times you hear it,is like brand new releases.

A lot of people does not know that Alton Ellis is singing from in the 1950s and, he was discovered by a Jamaican man named Vere Johns talent show at Ambassador Theatre. I grew up in Jamaica and heard a little about Vere Johns talent show found a few singers, he is one of cofounder of. A lot of top reggae singers in Jamaica, he left Jamaica living in the United States in 1924 long before Alton Ellis, Bob Marley, John Holt, and companies was born. He helped to developed the music in the United States ,where he was running a talent show naming Vere Johns talent show in New York city and. All over the United States and returned to Jamaica in 1939 were he started to run the Vere Johns talent show, where he found Alton Ellis, John Holt, and a couple more singers. I useto listened to his shows on the radio back in the days, he died in 1966 .Same year Haile Selassie came to Jamaica, I was a big school boy running, and playing cricket for my and club. Vere Johns talent show found a few singers in Jamaica and the United States, he is one who really the founder of the music in Jamaica to an extent. But the mento music is one of the oldest music in the world, and it is from the days of slavery .
I remembered when this song came out in the 1960s at that time, Alton Ellis was one of the best reggae singer in the world. I know Alton Ellis from in the 1960s, before he migrated to England. Also when he sings with his brother, and sister from the days of the good old days in Trench Town.
