One of the great treasures of being born and raised in Miami that our friends were from different countries and we appreciated and embraced each other's culture, food, and music. We are Cuban and of Dominican descent and embrace and love Jamaica, it's people, culture, food, and music. Great childhood memories. Nuff Respect Mr. Alton Ellis :)

Thank you jah for these classic songs.
SURELY ONE OF OUR TRENCH TOWN MUSIC FAMILY MEMBER. HOW CAN WE FORGET. I AM LOOKING STRAIGHT INTO HIS YARD RIGHT NOW. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE.
I remembered when this song came out in the 1960s at that time, Alton Ellis was one of the best reggae singer in the world. I know Alton Ellis from in the 1960s, before he migrated to England. Also when he sings with his brother, and sister from the days of the good old days in Trench Town.
Music like this cannot grow old at all ,whenever times you hear it,is like brand new releases.
Just hearing this for the first time...smh....good music
@@moniquerobinson1986 Is the very 1st time that you heard that Alton Ellis was the best reggae singer in the world, Alton Ellis was singing long time before Bob Marley ,Derreck Morgan, Prince Buster and companies which a lot of people does not know that. You haveto born within certain times to knows certain things, this 1st Jamaican to recorded a song in Jamaica. Is Harry Belafonte which you learned about in the United States, he was born in the United States of Jamaican parentages and. Came to Jamaica to grew,he was living in the same area as Bob Marley. But Harry Belafonte left for Kingston in his young age,and got into music.
My uncle useto played music before Bob Marley was born and, even Alton Ellis was a little boy. I born come see my uncle playing music during those days, it was mento long before all the rest of music came in.The American music was helped invented by a Jamaican named Vere Johns talent show, in 1924 and helped developed their music.
Before he returned to Jamaica in 1939 before Bob Marley, also a lot of them was born. He started a talented parade show in Jamaica, and he discovered Alton Ellis, John Holt, Desmond Dekker, just to mentioned a few of those singers he found. He runs the show in Jamaica until 1966 before he died, so when you hear some of them talking. But
they does not know the intricacies about the Jamaican music history ,I have been around a very long time.
I useto living in Sheffield in the 1980s, so I know a bit about England. My father was living there since 1957, and my ex wife went there in 1963 ,and she still living there.
I hope you enjoyed the information I am giving, I know a lot of history, ok.
I know my husband said the same thing when I played it for him this morning lol....
I guess I'm late to the party...but partying none the less....jammin
@@blairboyd4982 I throughly enjoyed the history lesson.....Thank you and blessings for even schooling me....I live school in the pow wow form....lol I have to look up some of those names you dropped because I simply love music....thanks again cause I thought talent shows started in the bronx......I was born in the 70's so I know how to listen....
@@moniquerobinson1986 Were you born in England of Jamaican parentages or what, I was born in Jamaica and grow up there. But I toured a couple of them, and I am living in the United States almost 30years now .I was married in England 30years and, left to the United States after the wedding.
.
the sixties were defined musically by songs of alton ellis . he captured the essence of relationships between lovers.
big up to the man Alton! Big love to Mr. Ellis from Colorado in 2021. Jah Love and Light to all.
