I have been collecting knives for years. The best all around fixed blade in my opinion that can perform bushcraft, hunting, "survival", camping, ect. tasks is a cold steel master hunter in 3v steel. For under $100 you cant beat it imo.
The only full tang version of the Mora is the Garberg, the companion model like you have there on the table is a rat tail.
Been collecting pretty much my whole life. I carry the Gerber Strongarm on my gear, I keep a Mora Garberg in my bugout bag, and for an EDC folder I carry a CRKT M16-03 KS. Inexpensive, sharp, thin for getting into tight places and has been a very dependable folder. The other knife I always keep in the truck is a 30+ year old Buck folder, it’s never let me down.
Nice knives Michael. Merry Christmas dear.
Thank you. You too
Afternoon Michael. Man, I have been collecting knives basically all my life. I completely agree that a good quality knife does not have to cost you an arm and a leg. Most of my everyday use knives are lower end of the mid price range. The problem a lot of people have is they tend to buy to please the eye and do not understand that knives have different functions and uses so they end up damaging a knife by misuse. Get the correct knife for the job. ✔️
If you have a Moro and a decent axe, you are pretty well set. I have some of the ones you have at the upper end, but I have a couple of Moro knives also. They are very good knives for the money. Moro, Tramontina machete, and an axe, and you are really set!
Gerber's Strongarm is a good choice in the under $100 category for a fixed blade. I've more knives I inherited than bought. Most are old Hunting knives made with good steel back when the US still made good steel.
For folders, I like the CRKT M16 series. My EDC is 15 years of everyday use, and has held up well, and keeps an edge good.
Mutitools, I've Gerbers, Leatherman's and SOGs. All 3 have pros and cons.
I tend to steer clear of Leatherman because I had a bad customer service experience, and it left a bad taste in my mouth for the company.
Yes, a Zero Tolerance folder is also a highlight in my knives collection, Rick Hinderer did a great job. My SHTF knives are no nonsense ones: PELTONEN KNIVES RANGER KNIFE M95 and Terävä Jääkäripuukko 140
Very nice
The M95 and M07 Finnish army knives are hard to beat! Not great for skinning but not a bad overall bush blade.
T kell knives, all American made by a former Marine...top notch quality and materials.
Thanks 4 serving our country
these are all pretty excellent general purpose knives which are fine for most tasks but you might want a few more specialized ones specifically for medical. razor scalpels are fairly cheap. if you have to cut something like an infected splinter, boil or shrapnel or something, you will want a scalpel for the control and razor sharp slicing. and medical shears to remove clothing and such. depending on your environment a machete is cheap and might be nice to add up for general property management of vegetation. sorry i know that was off topic from your video but everyone always focuses on all the cool guy fighting stuff but people tend to overlook the more mundane but equally important daily task stuff
Hey Michael, I'm a huge knife fan as well, like many others here. One of my favourites is my British survival knife, which is essentially a big piece of steel you can pretty much do anything with (not a fighting knife). A variety of blades are definitely required to ensure you can cover the basic tasks of survival. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Alberta!!
Nice lineup. I love the SRK, it has served great over the years (AUS8 version) but unfortunately it is not full tang and really not a good bushcraft knife. That inch of blade right above the grip has no grind and is it THE spot to use for good cutting leverage. Still great value and pairs well with that Mora.
My sog seal strike fixed blade is pretty nice i got like 10 years ago and its made with aussie steel and full tang with a striker plate past bottom of rubber handle
nice selections !!! I have a few knives that I really enjoy using forr edc, camping and bushcraft
Right on
You always want to listen to someone who reviews knifes with wear and tear all over them, you get straight pros and cons From someone who has actually used The knives, We all love shiny unboxing videos about brand new knives. But they are more knife design reviews rather than actual knife under use reviews like this fella does. 10/10 .
Just my take, but these are my top three. First, the Mora Companion HD stainless. Best knife ever for the price and you'll actually have it on you because it has an easy sheath. The Glock knife is a close second but it isn't as sharp out of the box. Third, probably the Tops Operator 7, but it's a bit heavy to carry all the time. Good sheaths that go on and off easy kind of make or break a fixed blade for me.
Nice
Thanks!
No problem!
the esee line are awesome
Great practical review American brother. I've always wanted one of those SRKs and ESEEs to try them out. I have a wide range of knives and I always seem to go back to my mora garberg but that esee is almost a good size as a chopper as well
Thanks for watching!
I like knives! My wife always ask me how many knives do you need?
I always say, I dont know I haven't hit that number yet
edged weapons ... very good topic ...
I have all sorts of knives. I have a couple Gerber FAST06 tanto folders, a couple KA-BAR's, a CRKT S.P.E.W. on a neck cord, a SOG "stone-wash" finish with a great grip (but lousy sheath), some homemade, some pen-knives, a couple M7 bayonets with the improved sheath, and a Becker BK3 Tac-tool, just to name a few... I love 'em all!!
Thanks for sharing!
Esee 6 HM for me is my go too SHTF knife.
Jase case just came in hyped
Stocked up on five or so of these and a few contingency medical. Definitely helps reduce that anxiety feeling for if the balloons went up tomorrow lol
Awesome. They rock
If I ever had the inclination to pop open the Tickle Trunk and do a video on my blades it would have to be a series!
Been doing this WAY too long.
In shtf, I wouldn’t trust folders or weak handled knives like that Srk. The strong arm would be my go to
Love my civivis, got a case full, but there no good for hard use, trying to pick a dependable all round tanto fixed blade, looking at the demko free reign OD green, can't find the arminger 4 tanto in stock any where in uk
Michael, take a look at T Kell knives all American made, Tim is a former Marine and friend. Curious to know what you would be interested in...don't mind that everything shows sold out. Rock on brother.
They look nice. The Gideon V3 is what I would be most interested in. I think it would be a great knife for carry on a belt, or PC
Operator 7 I own - I live an hour from the factory
Awesome
I have two knives from OKC unfortunately after reviewing them they have a thin tang and the cork material on the handle will slip around on you. Too bad cause they look to be carbon steel
Oh, I almost forgot... I have a Ka-Bar style tanto sword... probably more of a display piece, but it has a full-tang blade with the traditional Ka-Bar compressed leather grip. Spent under $100, so it's not a serious sword. But it sure is fun to have & hold!
Well it’s not a rat tail it’s a through tang but it’s not a full tang implement. Full tang with stacked leather is nearly impossible
👍👍
Wouldn't have a Walmart knife. Greber used to be a good knife, then Fiskar bought them out now they're 👎. ColdSteel knives 👍. For the most part a good folder will do most of the jobs that you need a knife for, even dressing a deer. I carry as my edc knife a Victorinox Tinker, my backup is a ZT. Remember you get what you pay for.
Good video
Thanks
Companion is never flimsy 😅
This is a military civilian service radio I personally oversee and own the manufacturer of this radio please do not use normal antennas you're supposed to use a hit 25 or hit 16 1/2 type of antenna you do not require cat or quick cat the antenna you use does not have a requirement for a quick cat programming up where do not really use it of course it is very useful you cannot store channels because there's a limit to this there are -2 integers on storage you cannot do that
Good video thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Thanks for watching
I agree, have 1 120 dollar knife and lots of less expensive ones. I love the Mora 2000/Kansbol type blades, good all rounders I've used and abused for years, light and would tickle someones ribs if God forbid things deteriorated to that level. The Swedish army used them for years. Folks sometimes forget knives will be everyday tools more often if things break down. Im sure an expensive custom will do the job but 200 dollars worth better than yours? Not really. Could have bought a reasonable crossbow with that 200
I want an esee 6 just can't afford it
Hi Mike, I've found Shrade to be an excellent value. Thick blade, good steel, cheap money. Also CRKT. Blessings
Good to know!
Another vid coming check this out F everyone else's radio I got the aliernz
Hey
Not sure that mora is full tang. Am I wrong?
Maybe not the Mora, but it doesn't have to be
@@AsymmetricalPreparedness very true. I love my Mora
I think you need a Leatherman, since you just keep breaking knives.
😆 I have them
Commenting for the algorithm. I love guns and gear, so I tyipcally enjoy the gear review stuff, or ways of utilizing, organizing, staging, etc. also interested in an update on your garden plots you made, was that a year ago already? i dont remember seeing an update video. Cheers from Seattle, commie territory
I will be covering the garden soon. Thanks
NICE👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Your Mora is NOT full tang.
Yeah I forgot that
@@AsymmetricalPreparedness Mora does now make one, but the originals are so cheap it's hard to justify.
This is the first time I've ever seen a Jihadist informercial.
