It blows my mind that men and women like her are allowed to be teachers in the first place.

@Shane Giacobbe When I was in college I had a "philosophy" class and an instructor that was so bad that my end of semester critique was the only time I spoke badly of an instructor. I told them that he was "the worst college teacher I have ever had at any time at this university. I never knew what he wanted or what he was trying to say." I never saw him on the instructor list again. Granted, that was a long time ago.

I will be raising my son to be nothing like this young man. We are in a sad state, this man said “ who do you call when someone has a knife or a gun?“ You call the United States Constitution and about 16 of your friends. That’s who you call. We are being infantilized and emasculated as men. Police are not heroes, they are agents whose primary job is to collect revenue for the state. For a grown man to raise a son, for that son to grow up to believe that police are heroes is child abuse. That sun should be raised to believe that he is the hero, we men, community leaders are the heroes protectors of families, life, and property. What’s wrong with this country?

Cops are glorified mall security guards, which mostly act as a presence to divert crime away from the immediate site. The larger the jurisdiction, the more they are bound by state laws/mandates, which affects their ability to deescalate/stop immediate threats. Having a firearm(s) for self defence and a coordinated plan with family/neighbours/tight knit community

Man, I had these type of lecturers when I was in college - constantly imposing their personal views on us. In every assignment I did, I molded my paper on what I thought would go down well with them even though I knew it was a slap in the face for impartiality. Ultimately, I got top marks throughout my time in college but looking back now I realise just how irresponsible these professors were.

And and in elementary school a teacher told us that reading a book is like "opening a door to the wide world." They never told us what to think, but some great teachers stressed "thinking, weighing both sides, and coming to a conclusion" ourselves. I had two especially good teachers that really did change my life by telling us to read and learn, and then asking us what *we* thought. (I think they were trying to show us that we were growing up, and capable of thinking things out ourselves.) I dont think that happens in public schools today.
