That orient is super neat...never seen anything like that before best of both worlds, beat concept. Thanks for sharing some of your collection...cheers buddy!
Mark! When is the purple Northport coming back in stock? Been checking every other day for a month. I want an Islander and a purple watch in my collection. 😅
"Take a look, it's in a book, A Reading Rainbow " I stand on my view of you and your presence on TH-cam. I absolutely enjoy your presentation and the knowledge you share. Plus, you're no so bad in person either. 😁✌️
I don’t have any super weird watches in my collection, but I would love to get a Xeric Invertor. The most obscure watch I have is a NakedWatch Maxwell, made in the early 2000’s. It has a skeleton movement with day, date and 24 hour indicators in chronograph style subdials. I often see the same movement used in more modern watches.
Very cool "weird" collection. I have one of the DNA Accutrons. Love the watch. Hate the sticky crappy rubber strap. But nobody makes other straps for it......not even Accutron.
I bought an E-One Bradley just because it's such a clever way to tell time for blind people. I also have a Cathode Corner Nixie Mk.1, obsolete tech used in a new way.
Very cool. I especially like the Orient. Still about 30 more “traditional” watches I want to get before I venture out to more unique dials. Maybe once I have a dresser full of watches…🤔
Like the last watch. Best of both worlds. I always dream to have a analog display watch: bright, long lasting lume, easy to read hands on the hour/minute markers, automatic winding module but also can solar charge the watch battery, 100-200m water resistant and has quick button and tilt to light up the dial (Timex Indiglo). Of course comes with day-date complications with option to syn via GPS signal as not everyone is stay within the radius of radio signal. Hmm.. maybe add in alarm with options of sound and flashing light, also strong vibration alarm. My thought process: Why button to lit up the dial? Easy to read for normal eyesight folks as well as the aging eyes of those 40's and above, regardless in broad daylight or waking up in the middle of the night, or miners working inside the cave, SF in a night mission. 😅 Why solar + automatic winding (Seiko kinetic)? For those eldery or people with some movement restriction issues that cannot move the wrist a lot to wind it, yet wants to enjoy wearing a mechanical (partly) watch with easy to read analog hands. Why vibration alram? Think of in a noisy environment or need notification without alerting the rest (SF in operation, inside a meeting room, poor hearing). Too much, already such a watch in existence in the market? 😁
I have 1 android watch and a couple of aragons as well. I love the brand, but langs android versions had much more unique styles to me, and now i search for them now more thes days. My next watch is going to be that Metronome watch made by citizen I believe. Edit: made by seiko actually😂😂
I wrote to TGV about this too, What are your feelings on Citizen getting into bed with smart watches with models like the CZ Hybrid that they made in partnership with IBM Watson
I'm partial to the backward watches. You know how you look at your watch and then 10 seconds later someone says "What time is it?" and then you realize you have no idea and have to look at your wrist again? Not with the backward watch. The one-handers are cool too - it's odd that MeisterSinger dominates that segment when quartz is probably the more practical approach. There's a company that does "Decimal Time" watches (Used briefly after the French Revolution). It's kind of cheating though, since you just use a GMT hand and slap a different dial on it. Fun video Marc.
Orient should bring that model back, and also its old Day Date homage. They did a lot of cool models back in the day and now they do boring oversized tool watches and Bambinos
@@islandwatch they sell for ridiculous prices on the secondary market. If only there was an enthusiast brand that wasn’t afraid of doing value for money homage watches
Sir as a really cool look and learn perhaps an equation determining noon based on the definition of the highest point in the sky taking in to account analemma and longitude. I am thinking of making my own local time, although my employer may not be too happy. Great watches btw
Dear marc, you don't seems to read thé comment !!!! where's my shout out? Liké Teddy, Nico, CRM and many other did!!!!! Please do so as your #1 french parisian Guy.... Frédéric
Mark I like your videos, but these thumbnails man... If I didn't already know you made quality content, there's no way I would click on these. Maybe I'm in the minority though...
You pose a really interesting question for anybody trying to market anything. How to attract new users who are going to stay? Winemakers have it down, but they are lucky because human palates fall into categories that match up with age ranges. So I, as an almost 60-year-old, know not to buy wines with vampires on the label, because it will simply be too sweet and fruity for my old self. And kids are not buying wine with châteaux, or creaky old castle towers, on the label. But the kids love it because it has so much taste. However, another variable, and I don’t know whether this is true, or not, might be that Marc benefits from clicks from people who don’t stay and don’t subscribe. So in that case, he is counting on us to click through and ignore the thumbnail. But again, I have no idea how TH-cam works, so I don’t know if that’s a valid theory.

Orient watch is crazy! I love it!
I love that GeoChron! The fact that it shows a date-correct day-night overlay, and it shows where the sun is directly up/over (in an analemma)
super cool

Neat*
Fascinating collection! It looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing, Marc.
Thanks for watching!
Marc we need a Cartier Santos homage. 38mm, maybe some fun dial colors (gunmetal, burgundy, turquoise) and 150m water resistance!
I never really see anything about Gevril or GV2 are they any good?
Great collection. Thanks. 💪
Thanks for watching!
That Hamilton is super cool .
I love your collection of unusual watches. I love the creative thinking.
Thank you very much!
Those are fun! Thanks Mark.
thanks for checking it out.
Mark! When is the purple Northport coming back in stock? Been checking every other day for a month. I want an Islander and a purple watch in my collection. 😅
Ah, the wonderful weird whimsical world of whacky watches where whoever watches will be wowed with wonder. 😳
Thanks Marc. 🙏🏼

So nice, I'll say it twice. Thanks!
I love the accutron just cannot afford one lol but that orient is too cool!
I love the Atmos click it's so nerdy cool.😎
Awesome thanks! Have you checked out Mr Jones watches from London?
Cool watches, love the Ricochet. Maybe should buy one.
I love the accutron. I have watches from Tokyo flash. Their designs are very odd but cool.
What about the Megia rolling time watch?? I really don't wear it much anymore but I have it on my desktop. I love watching it roll into a new hour.
Reminds me I have one of those drum roller watches too
Fun stuff! Thanks!
Already a fan of yours, then you mentioned Android 🔥🔥🔥.
What do you know about Android? You must be one of those watch crunch people 🤔 😂
Android has quite a following.

That stinks.
That Android skeleton is really nice..
How does the sriratcha clock work?
tasty, LOL
I always thought the orient retro airplane was cool but no luck finding one
With regards to your clock I think it or similar was on Pawn Stars.
Cool
Anything from Mr jones? Possibly more like art than weird ways to tell time but very creative and well done watches nonetheless

tuning fork frequency

so very cool 😊
I love it your watches
Weird-N-Wonderfull 👍👍👍
Yes, good way to put it.
I have a Xeric Halograph II Automatic and a Xeric American Moonphase. Both pretty weird watches, but weird in a good way.
Weird is good.

mark you like blue. you need the alkin model 3 blue dial
Mitchell Seco-graph from Mitchell Timepieces
I have a Ballast Trafalgar, you set the date & time by rotating the bezel not the crown.
Yes, I used to sell those. Weird indeed!
fifty phantoms reminds me of super mario. so cool.
I love that darn watch.
They made a panda style version of that orient watch- ORIENT Dual Time Zone FXC00004B
Weird is good!
Very true.
The Android Watch is really nice 👍🏿 😊.
thanks! Love it
They should shrink that wall map world clock into a watch dial.
I'm pretty sure it exists.

Sriracha colored dial with green indicies/bezel would be awesome!
design idea!

thats the coolest orient i have ever seen
Pretty nifty

Pretty much every Xeric watch is weird like that.

I dont think it's weird at all .
Its weird to me 90% or so of watchs are cookie cutter clones of each other and people by these watchs on mass . .😊
Only an American can butcher the pronunciation of Jaeger-LeCoultre like that (@0:51)😂
