I guess it makes sense for an artist to submit, let's say 10 of his newly produced songs to the website for an audience review from a handful of people, to find out which (as an example let's just say 4) of these 10 tracks gets the highest ratings. He then would probably only officially release these 4 songs on his next EP-single. It probably makes more sense for the artist 'money wise' to do it that way. The artist then pays the website for the service, thereafter the website pay out some of the revenue to the people involved in reviewing those particular tracks.. ( I'm only guessing here ofc 😅 But I think it would make perfect sense to do it kinda like that - in some shape or form at least.. IMO.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) And if someone can point to the fact that they've managed to build up a repertoar of a thousand Spotify followers. They'd also appear to be someone who has an above average knowledge of music or musical trends - as they themselves has either managed to produce their own music, or more likely 'playlists' that people enjoy listening to. The review-websites in question would probably deem these people qualified enough (music wise) to make an "informed" decision - benefitting the company (website). Or at the very least make a decision that's valuable to the artists using the services, which again would be beneficial to the website. Again, keep in mind: Pure guesswork in action here.. 😆 🤷♂️ ✌️🎶

why would they pay people to rate music... I don't get it the benefit
