The thing about electric vehicles, as opposed to regular ones (acoustic vehicles?), isn't that they don't pollute, but that the pollution is concentrated at the power plants, where it can be dealt with more efficiently.

I see lots of students using electric scooters and skateboards, much easier and safer than the electric roller skates, as you're not strapped to them. They're also more portable than the electric bike shown here.
yeah 8 years later and so many rounds of funding and the electric skates are still not a profitable company.
Electric scooters are illegal in the UK on public land. Check the EAPC Regs.

Are those scooters legal in UK ?
As far as I know Segways and similar are banned from our roads, if the scooters are allowed then they would sell quickly if the right price.
The Twizy would be perfect if only it had side windows, UK weather is not for this vehicle, if I'm going to get wet while commuting then I'll stick to the motorbike, at least I can filter and save time.
The Twizy is still far better than Clive Sinclair's C5 "Electric Bike".

Use a VPN
Before anyone buys one of these sooters - familiarise yourself with the Electrcially Assisted Pedal Cycle Regulations (EAPC) which means that if it falls outside of these, they cannot be used on public land, only on private land. Same for scooters and other powered vehicles.
Buy an electric bicycle instead, that complies, and you can use it on cycleways legally.
If it doesn't comply, they need to registered, plated, taxed, insured, and you'll need a licence and helmet - just like a motorbike (which is actually what it is).
Beware, ignorance is no excuse, and though it seems not to be enforced, if you get caught, there will be a fine and points on your licence!
As a cyclist using cycleways daily, I agree with the rules, having nearly been killed by an idiot doing about 30mph on a scooter!
Gone were the days where simple friendly banter with strangers on the bus or tube, was still the best way to break the monotony of a journey. Nowadays we're just a bunch of anti-social headphone wearing hermits, opting to stare down at smartphone screens, instead of engaging in real social interaction. I blame technology completely for the lack of public social interaction, something technology has utterly failed to encourage, despite its best intent to bring people together...

Glad to see someone else say this, it is not well known! Only Electric Bicycles which comply with the EAPC regulations are allowed on cycleways, but not pavements, in the UK.
Scooters are classed as 'motor cycles' and need registering, plates, tax, insurance, and you'll need a helmet and basic licence (CBT) on cannot be used on cycleways, only roads. They are too dangerous for cycleways.
