As usual, you hit this topic out of the park. Thanks. I really like the Application Grid and plan on using that in the future. I find that I am using the Sermon Editor more and more. Even though I'm not a pastor, I find the SE valuable for developing Bible Studies I'm teaching. And while the AI application generator could become stale (I think it will by the necessity within the limits of the algorithm), a topic that continually comes up may warrant a deeper dive, much like a word that is repeated a lot in scripture.

Haha! I’m a firm believer that we should use all the tools we can for the kingdom.

Why should the church consider applications for non-believers? Isn't the church for the believers? It seems to me the only viable application for a non-believer should be preaching the Gospel.

Good consideration. To me this falls under the area of being ‘shrewd.’ Regardless of whether or not one finds the church setting to be more for believers or more evangelistic; I feel that the practical reality that there might be unbelievers present warrants a comment or two. I guess I am more pragmatic on this issue. 👍

I've always thought of Sunday School and Bible Study as being oriented to believers - disciples, and the Sunday morning service as being for a more diverse group. The large Baptist church that I grew up in had an alter call after every service, and every time there were people who accepted Jesus as Lord, so obviously there were non-believers present in the service. I think of providing applications for everyone in attendance as a form of preaching the Gospel. The Holy Spirit can draw people to Christ in many ways in addition to explicitly evangelistic messages. As the saying goes, "Preach the Gospel always. When necessary, use words." Grace and peace to you.

Thanks for sharing, John. There are a variety of opinions on this issue, and you expressed this particular viewpoint well. 👍
