I agree a lot on opinion 5 (on punk rock). I've been a rock band listener for a while now and the person who wrote opinion 5 sentenced exactly what I thought. Like retro concept songs couldve been done so well but everyone and their mothers decided to put nothing new on the table and make retro music just for the sake of trend

As for your question about editing poor raps vs editing poor vocals: vocals can def be saved more to a bigger extend in post processing. For the rap you have to deliver the right energy at the right syllables and your flow must be cohesive with the beat. If it's off it's too time costly to edit all of that, whereas one or two off-notes with a singing bit could be fixed more easily. Although I will say that extreme poor singing is the same as extreme poor rapping. It can't be saved with post-processing at all. It has to be somewhat close to the desired key/energy.
I love when idol rappers realise that they LOVE to rap after being given that position and continue to grow and develop their skills, making it their own but for a large majority of them you can tell they'd give anything to sing with everyone else, like Moonbyul is an idol rapper and is considered amazing [even though she can sing] but you can tell during performances when the other 3 are singing that she wants to join them but has to wait until her rap part comes up

Ok I just read the post and I think they have a point bur look at it this way (Option 3) 1. It was a way for Blackpink to be introduced to new listeners and to get Pubg new players and it kinda worked. 2. I was a way for YG to monitor how many people would actually go and view the Virtual, to see if as many blinks were actually waiting for a Blackpink comeback. 3. Yes it technically was a money grab but what company doesn't do weird things for money and promotions??? 4. Games aren't going to use nugu groups if they are trying to reach a bigger audience. 5. Aespa would do great in the concept but they are still relatively new so it think in the next coming years they might be in a game but then again that's if their concept hasn't gotten boring or been changed.
to add to the last point, I feel like 3rd gen was HEAVILY dominated by boy groups (like there were more big name bgs than ggs). so at least in my opinion it's kind of nice to see more girl groups in 4th gen, it's a nice change of pace yk.
i don't think 3rd gen was bg dominated they're was like only bts, svt, exo, monsta x, nct and got7 maybe wanna one if they count while gg you had bp, twice, red velvet, mamamoo, gfriend, oh my girl, dreamcatcher, momoland, pristin etc. some of the them disbanded or not as big as they used to be but still gg always had it easier then bg when it comes to gp popularity
@@inseungwoonamewestan1196 yeah but i think they mean BIG big name gg. like lets face it... dream catcher, pristin, oh my girl until they got popular like 2 years ago.... theyre not BIG big names in kpop, while the bg counterparts named were
@@namu4380 bc yg wants to always do bare minimum for bp's album and just to make it and ✌🏼full album✌🏼 and bare minimum for a full album is 8 songs so they were like oh, this can be added as the 8th song.. why new song? ^_^
The covers thing idk why some people don't like them. As I was on Woojins concert and he performed his official covers and his OST and own songs. I didn't mind it at all because he had a set time of 2 hours and he has just one album. I don't mind it because he is mostly showing off his vocals in those. He has just done one dance cover + a dance cover highlighting each of his back up dancers and then all of them together. He performed Dynamite by BTS in Europe and in America HOT by SEVENTEEN. It was fun and we had little breaks when he talked to us. So yeah I don't mind dance cover or covers and if the idol doesn't have the songs they just will perform covers what are they supposed to do ? And If it is just a surprise one for each member and one for the group alright. But yeah that is my opinion on it.
I don't agree with the BLACKPINK x PUBG thing. PUBG is actually one of the most popular mobile games, so it makes a lot of sense for them to do a collaboration with a group as big as BLACKPINK. That's the main reason why they chose BP to work with them... And no, they don't need to have a game/avatar concept to do a collaboration with them, just like they don't have a technology concept but they also did a collaboration with Samsung. These partnerships are just for the idols and/or companies to earn some money and for the different brands to reach a larger audience, it has nothing to do with the concepts. Like, can you imagine saying that BTS shouldn't have done their collaboration with McDonald's because their concepts have nothing to do with fast food, or that EXO shouldn't have been a model and made a song about fried chicken because it affects the history of their lore. Did TWICE have anything to do with League of Legends before the collaboration? No, but they still worked with K/DA. Not to mention that there are so many western artists, movies, and shows that also have nothing to do with video games, but have done different collaborations with them and even created their own games. Tbh, I think some of y'all just had a problem with this because a lot of people (especially Blinks and Mys) have been comparing Blackpink and Aespa lately on literally everything. Proof of this is that BLACKPINK has been working with PUBG since The Album era but no one bothered and now we do?? In conclusion for this side of the topic, yes, maybe concept-wise Aespa would fit better, but these collaborations have nothing to do with that. And speaking about the song and mv, Ready For Love was not created exclusively for the game. That song was supposed to be part of The Album, as we can see in their documentary on Netflix, but the song did not make it to the album and was leaked. Now, why didn't they just forget about the song since it was supposed to be on an old album and 50% leaked? Because it's a song that YG themselves had spoiled for us, they knew we were waiting and begging for RFL. It actually makes a lot of sense why they preferred to give it to PUBG and not officially release it themselves.
I think the cover from jisoo in the born pink tour is lovely. She doesn’t have her own solo and I loved that she got a solo stage like the other members. I also loved her version of the song.
I disagree with the blackpink pubg thing. it makes sense actually plus pug g has millions of downloads/ users already so technically it benefits both. now videogame people know blackpink and blinks go to play the game. so its an even exchange. as for the tackiness I wouldnt know I never play videogames and dont plan to so idk how the graphics look. and as for the cheapness it makes sense100% its way easier to have people use and play a free game supported by ads and also in app purchases than to have a priced game with ads and in app purchases. I mean me personally I wouldnt pay to download a game to watch a fake 5 minute virtual concert. so a free app was the way to go and when you think about it blackpink is doing the same thing they ddi last year to promote their album. prerelase 1 (HYLT), PRERELEASE 2(ICE CREAM ), ALBUM PLUS TITLE (LSG) + concert and this year its single 1 (RFL + mini concert), prerelease 1 (pink venom) + album and title + world tour aka concerts
I agree with the kpop concerts are boring one, but I've only been to a few. The ITZY crowd in London was SO BORING!!! People wouldn't stand up and kept looking at me funny when I was singing??? Like I'm at a concert let me scream?? 💀💀
I personally agree that kpop concerts are usually boring. For the op, I don't think its about the fans. But i genuinely feel bored at most, especially 3rd and 4th gen artists concerts. It's a personal thing but as someone with psychological hyperactivity watching idols sing (not even live singing for many groups) and dance for 2 hours with some little talks bore me so bad, usually I just buy tickets because of my friends but end up losing my interest in first 30 mins. Only groups I genuinely enjoyed so far was suju, 2pm, shinee and vixx because they had concepts and fun moments and lots of visual attractions to keep me focused
For example, this is a vixx concert th-cam.com/video/0QueliRxdJk/w-d-xo.html And this is from the new suju concert (but they have tons of fun skits at older concerts too) th-cam.com/video/B9sX1m-FLT4/w-d-xo.html
Haven’t been to a concert since I don’t live near any concert places but I was told ateez was fun! I’ve seen some vids and they do seem to do some stuff that isn’t just dancing like they did some theatrical stuff I saw on some fancams
I get the 6th opinion and why people think that and I agree somewhat. However, each member of a group needs to have a role in the group that applies to recording the songs they produce as well. Momo is one of the best dancers in k-pop and JYP saw her how much potential she had so much so as to ignore public opinion and put her in Twice. Honestly, twice would not survive with Jihyo providing most of the stage presence and so that's why Momo needs to be in Twice. But, a dance break (like Feel Special, More and More, etc.) doesn't signify Momo's part in the song and many fans still want to hear her voice. So although she may not be a great vocalist or rapper she still needs a role in the song production and she honestly is better as a rapper even though she isn't one
They are nine membered group. Momo is my bias but people shouldn't say that she needs more lines because that girl sometimes gets more lines than jungyeon, the lead vocalist. And momo isn't that bad of a vocalist that people make her to be. I don't think she is that bad of a vocalist that people make her to be. If she sings in her range and her real voice. And she is involved in production. She writes songs.
I agree with #7, one of the reasons I dont stan boy groups anymore is because there are a lot less debuting therefore I have less options to stan a boy group. I hope more debut soon.
yess there's definitely been a decline in new boy groups debuting! either that, or perhaps there's just so many more girl groups debuting that it feels like less boy groups!
for the 7th opinion that girl does not need to worry hybe and jyp are about to debut like 10 boy groups withing the next 2 years so shell have plenty of new faces to see lol
1. This is also not something I’ve ever thought of like if the group has a small discography it’s pretty understandable, and if it’s like a company concert like the Sm Family thing or that concert YG did back in they day it would also make sense, also let’s say every member of a group has a solo except 1 or 2 it would be fine if they covered a song then so everyone could get a solo stage. But I can understand why it might be annoying especially if it’s a western song like they could at least cover a different K-pop song in that case 2. I’ve always liked twice’s music but I do agree their music has definitely gotten 3.idrc we all know yg will use anything as promotions 4. I’ve been to 25+ K-pop concerts and not a single one was boring so I do not agree with this at all, granted all the venues I’ve been to are well known for having some of the best shows to ever be performed because the vibe of the audiences in those venues where so good but I can understand if the audience doesn’t have a good vibe to it 5. Highly disagree 6. That’s not always true, like in a lot of groups you can tell they are only rappers because they quite good enough to be on the vocal or dance line but they are still good enough to be part of the group like Irene and a member of idol I forgot the name of (Not Soyeon) I also notice it more with visuals 7. THIS IS SO TRUE, most of these new 4th gg music sounds exactly the same or it’s just bad, I feel like 4th gen boy groups are more focused on being all rounded while girl groups only focus on dancing which isn’t a bad thing to just that I can’t listen to dancing
I think companies are debuting girl groups more in 4th gen because kpop is not targeting korean market but for western audience now. International fans, especially 4th gen fans, prefer girl groups over boy groups and even have a weird idea that boy group stans are lower than girl group stans. Gg stans, especially nugu girl stans, are crazy protective and supportive and they are ready to accept any new girl group no matter who they are or how they sound. While for boy groups, they have to be from a big company or be extremely lucky to have a fanbase like ggs. So companies choose the easy way out with debuting girls It was the opposite in 2nd/early 3rd gen hence why they had more boy groups, kpop was mainly targeting korea and in korea boy groups still have more potential than girls but the time changed and now only a few companies are still caring about korean market. Its sad for me tbh, as a bg stan it's hard to find new music anymore
I personally don’t miss twices cute concept even though I loved it, but I’m not a fan of their new music at all. I loved fancy, feel special and cry for me (which was an amaziiiing song), I can’t stop me was okay but ever since more and more I’ve completely lost interest but I still love them as people❤
I strongly disagree with number 5. Its not even an unpopular opinion. Look at Dreamcatcher, it took them so long to get a win because rock isn't popular in Korea. It would also go with it that most fans of kpop don't like rock either. Of course not all since people like all types of music but in this case the majority are for the pop/R&B/hip hop genres. Personally i think its great to see it more. It fit TXT so well. "Like I Know I Love You" is hands down no contest their best song, with their similar tracks being great too. It was my #1 song that year. Need I say more about Dreamcatcher. Its great when its done well but its really not that popular in kpop. i like to think the girl groups trying it out is fine to experiment. Sometimes they seem to sound like bad girl concept 1.5 but hey its nice to see them do something different cause i tell you what, kpop is nothing original. in fact a lot of the music does tend to blend. Also I absolutely adore Twice getting more mature music that still fits their style. Truly every group should have music that grows with them. Twice's discography is fantastic both old and new. Unfortunately i think some other unnamed groups need to have their music mature with them too. Not saying any names but doing the same thing over and over or having cutesy songs when everyone is getting close to mid-20s or older is a little awkward.
I disagree with the girl group rapper one too. jennie is main rapper (jennie is not a good example cuz she didnt wanna be a rapper anyways she wanted to be vocals but they made her rapper cuz she was good at it compared to the other girls so I guess now she got what she wanted which was to sing lol) and they make her sing. chaeyoung is main rapper and they make her sing. moon sua and siyoon are rappers and they sing very well, seonyou and hyeju are rappers and they sing very well. irene sings better than what she raps so does joy and so does yeri, karina raps and is "subvocal" but can def sings. j and sumin are rappers and they sing very good.

I’m on kpop reddit solely bc I don’t want twitter & use the subreddits for updates/news instead, and it’s such a cesspool over there 💀💀 Literally bullying them & acting like they have a say over most of their activities/songs (some do ofc but not many) like blame the companies, not the artist that doesn’t have a say lmfaoo
Ok I just read the post and I think they have a point bur look at it this way (Option 3)
@@inseungwoonamewestan1196 yeah but i think they mean BIG big name gg. like lets face it... dream catcher, pristin, oh my girl until they got popular like 2 years ago.... theyre not BIG big names in kpop, while the bg counterparts named were
Blackpink didn't do the song for the game, they did the song already, it got leaked so they gave it to that game
So why was it on the album ?
Op 6, absolutely. IMHO some rap parts in kpop are cringe for me.
I agree so much with opinion 3, it is tacky & doesn’t make sense to the brand of bp
For example, this is a vixx concert th-cam.com/video/0QueliRxdJk/w-d-xo.html
And this is from the new suju concert (but they have tons of fun skits at older concerts too)

Try some EXO live, They had won an award for thé best concert alredy ;)
Why is there more girl group? Cause they cater to the general public compared to men who cater generally to female public.
02:53 true but not with itzy imo
for the 7th opinion that girl does not need to worry hybe and jyp are about to debut like 10 boy groups withing the next 2 years so shell have plenty of new faces to see lol
fr hybe is the only company nowadays who debut more bg then gg
But I can understand why it might be annoying especially if it’s a western song like they could at least cover a different K-pop song in that case
2. I’ve always liked twice’s music but I do agree their music has definitely gotten
3.idrc we all know yg will use anything as promotions
4. I’ve been to 25+ K-pop concerts and not a single one was boring so I do not agree with this at all, granted all the venues I’ve been to are well known for having some of the best shows to ever be performed because the vibe of the audiences in those venues where so good but I can understand if the audience doesn’t have a good vibe to it
5. Highly disagree
6. That’s not always true, like in a lot of groups you can tell they are only rappers because they quite good enough to be on the vocal or dance line but they are still good enough to be part of the group like Irene and a member of idol I forgot the name of (Not Soyeon) I also notice it more with visuals
So companies choose the easy way out with debuting girls
It was the opposite in 2nd/early 3rd gen hence why they had more boy groups, kpop was mainly targeting korea and in korea boy groups still have more potential than girls but the time changed and now only a few companies are still caring about korean market.
I miss crown era txt
