This album doesn't tell the story of any human, but rather a computer (perhaps the first of the assembly line) that gained consciousness and realized it was gonna end up in parts and that it's system will one day never be activated again. And instead of scrambling to find a way to prolong or prevent its deactivation, it decided to embrace it and hope for an afterlife. It gathered sounds from around the internet and compiled an album that represented it emotion. This is that album.

Sounds like the soundtrack of an existential night cop of a large company who is spending the night traveling to each empty room of the building. Chilling.

Around the time you typed this comment, I was actually working in Colorado as a nighttime custodian in a high school. One day at the end of the school year, we were given a choice to start work in the morning, or our usual shift at around 3pm as the students had a half day. I started at 3 cause that's what I was used to. When I got to work, I realized I would be working alone that night because everyone else started in the morning. I walked around that empty school, which was known to have paranormal activity, all night listening to the IF discography (amongst other things ofc) and honestly, it was probably one of the creepiest 8 1/2 hours I've had to this day. Oddly enough, I yearn for another experience like that.

@@oldsoul2560 funny enough, the term “Vaporwave” is derived from Vaporware. Here’s a definition of what it means:
“In the computer industry, vaporware (or vapourware) is a product, typically computer hardware or software, that is announced to the general public but is late or never actually manufactured nor officially cancelled.”

I always love listening to real vaporwave, sample-based loops slowed down, pitch-shifted, distorted, with a healthy dose of consumerism.
