Those guys served for the South Korean Army at least 3 years, which means they have better understanding of such tactics. As a result, that guys showed such a well organized movement. Rather than romanticising them, we shouldnt forget the real discrimination Koreans faced in LA during those times. The police refused to intervene and protect these communities and despite the heroic efforts by the Korean community, as seen clearly in this video, many businesses were destroyed and hundreds of millions of dollars in damages occurred. Its a pity they needed to desperately defend themselves with guns like this due to racial division and tension.
The police likely gave up on these communities because police intervention would only make things worse, not really a discrimination thing. They cordoned the rage and riots off from the rest of the city and let it simmer out. The communities themselves were the issue, not the police. You're shifting blame for zero reason, only to grandstand. The koreans did what they had to do, and they faced the inherent evil of humanity the only way you can; by burning brighter than its darkness.

The police likely gave up on these communities because police intervention would only make things worse, not really a discrimination thing. They cordoned the rage and riots off from the rest of the city and let it simmer out. The communities themselves were the issue, not the police. You're shifting blame for zero reason, only to grandstand. The koreans did what they had to do, and they faced the inherent evil of humanity the only way you can; by burning brighter than its darkness.
At the start, most of the store owners weren't armed. A couple of Korean gun store owners gave away firearms with ammo asking everyone to settle up after all the b.s. was done. I rode patrol that week with a buddy, he had his brothers Beretta 9mm and me, a Remington 12 gauge.
The shooting you see in the video wasn't against looters, it was against the local gang, mainly MS13 that were doing drive by's. One of the first casualties of the riots was a Korean security guard, MS13 runs up on him and shots him in the head. It was caught on on a security cam, the videos is probably floating around TH-cam.
We're still here, no more riots in Ktown after 92. Period. By the way, we don't like Marxist/Communists, it's why we fought a war in the 1950's.
