Michael Buble is a really great singer and i hate to admit but there will never be another Frank Sinatra he's one of a kind. if you haven't noticed most of the great music is not being appreciated by the young kids and it's always nice to have cover artist trying to bring it back in other words Michael Buble is doing us a favor by keeping this music alive! by adding his own twist to keep up with this generation! :)
Honestly guys, i'm a big Metal fan, great music, but those on here that say Buble can't sing well? are you kidding me? this guy is uber talented. Its so obvious that he's talented that your very comment discredits you without even disecting it. Its just silly. This guy is great.
buble appreciates sinatra just as much as the next fan and is expressing his love for him here. hes a great singer and i'm glad theres still people singing/making this kind of music.
yes, it's true. i can listen to this kind of music all day. i love to see young artists in our generation to be inspired by this kind of classic stuff. Rat pack, vocal jazz, big band.
I love Buble but this is still where he is trying to mimic others, over the last 10 years he has definately changed and found his own style. Great clip. for all Buble fans :)
I can't believe that there are so many people that just like say people are no good! if you can't appreciate what he does, then i think that who moans should just stop listening to music, you obviously don't understand it. he has brought real music back to the charts, so he must be doing something right!
M.B. also famous in Hungary too. We like him very much. His music makes our parents and grand's to feel in their young age. it's a pity that he hasn't come here yet to make a big concert and let us enjoy his great voice and show!
Have you heard his recorded version of this? It's amazing- the younger him, I mean. I love him so much- and anybody who hates this version is delusional. He sings with soul and passion, and his voice is as smooth as coffee. Man, you must not have ears.
Do you know how many people wants to have Michael Buble's voice ?! His voice is simply amazing ! I'm his fan and i'm no idiot at all.. Michael Buble sings Louis Amstrong, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin.. But he doesn't try to be better that all that singers.. I think you should respect his talent.. He sings very nice and deserves some respect.. :)
Before you start bashing him, you've got to remember that artists like Buble are bringing back the great old classics and showing them to younger audiences. Sure, he's not Sinatra, but I'd rather listen to him blasting from my classmates' Ipods during bio than the crap "music" we teens are expected to enjoy. Freaking apple bottom jeans. What are those, anyway?!
There is absolutely NO comparison with the likes of Sinatra, bennet etc!! Michael is in a league of his own,he commands the stage with such charisma and a rare talent the likes of us will only see once in a lifetime!! He hold's his own and shows us just why he cannot be compared 2 anyone else!! ......The day will come when people say about some other artist "Oh man he's the next Michael Buble....guaranteed! This beautiful man is already a "legend" in my eyes!!
even when he is quite unexperienced here he looks so comfortable and convitenced. He really is such a great artist. And is voice is the greatest ever. Love him! =)
Mack The Knife is originally written by Berthold Brecht, a german author, and he wrote "Die Morität von Mackie Messer" (original german title) for his piece of theatre " Dreigroschenoper".... And it was translated by Marc Blitzstein in 1928...
@poissonCHA1 It's Bobby Darin who made this song recognizable worldwide. Just listened to Sinatra, Ella and Louis and Bobby far surpasses theirs and I guess that's why he made the song famous. Because he does it best.
@MrStoneburger Bobby Darin had everything to do with this song. Millions would have never heard it had he not done his BEST version of it. This little baby country has put out more music, listened to by billions around the world, than any country in history. Don't sell America short.
its amazing how people always downsize the current generation of musicians with talent because they cover songs made by the legends. if you people just kept an open mind you'll find that we have very talented musicians here and now carrying on the music made long ago instead of letting it drown in the, talentless, soulless music that crowd the mainstream today.
+Anita Zenobia I must completely disagree with you. For one, you don't sounds truly cultured in jazz/blues/bebop etc... for two, nobody with a respectable opinion says "This version sucks".
never mind the 'whole 'song ...just putting your 'whole' HEART into it would help...Buble sings like he can't be arsed.........ROBBIE puts his heart and soul into it which is why he always reigns supreme.....even I put more soul into singing in the shower!!!!!!
There are 3 classic versions of this song. Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra & the late great Bobby Darin. Darin's version was a great example of how to swing a standard. Buble does a reasonable version of this timeless song & has brought it to a modern audience. We need more talented young singers to re-work songs of this quality. Don't knock singers like Buble .....they are links in a chain & pay homage to an age when quality songs & lyrics, really mattered.
@lawsonmahoney Michael Bublé wrote Haven't Met You Yet with his music Director Alan Chang and his Co-writer Amy Foster. As Far as I now Michael Bublé has written 9 songs, three of then not on an album, these songs include: Haven't Met You Yet, Lost , Everything, Hold On, Hollywood, Home, Dumb O'l Heart, Here's to Life and I've Never Been in Love Before. Even thought Michael has not written a lot of his songs his talent is still huge! :)
No, it's not too old-fashioned to enjoy good, entertaining songs. I first heard this song when I was about 13-14 and thought it was cool. My favorite Bobby Darin song is Clementine though simply because of all the vocal sound effects that he uses. It would be cool if Michael did that song as well.
I love michael buble and have seen him several times. However I do agree that the original by Bobby Darin is the best and I also agree that Its worth checking out the film 'Beyond the Sea' . Its great, especially if you like this type of music.
@jonytsunami, Personally speaking I think Buble is a great singer, and he really does justice (almost sounding like Darin in my opinion) to this song. Between Darin and Buble, these are really the two best versions I've ever heard.
i like it, i think he does a great job. its not easy to sing in front of people AND a camera, no matter how much you do it. pinosworld and tdtd98 just can't appreciate the fact that he sings better than either of them...get up an try that kids.
@liverpoolishgirl - Sinatra also sang this song. Four notable names have: Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, and Robbie Williams. All amazing voices and performers.
Michael is soooooooooooo smooth!
Perfect Jazz voice...great style
Bravo!
Honestly guys, i'm a big Metal fan, great music, but those on here that say Buble can't sing well? are you kidding me? this guy is uber talented. Its so obvious that he's talented that your very comment discredits you without even disecting it. Its just silly. This guy is great.

This singer is an astounding bundle of mensch and supreme talent. What an amazing performer!
I love Buble but this is still where he is trying to mimic others, over the last 10 years he has definately changed and found his own style. Great clip. for all Buble fans :)
such a BEAUTIFUL voice...don't know why people diss him...if he's got it, he's simply GOT it...
I can't believe that there are so many people that just like say people are no good! if you can't appreciate what he does, then i think that who moans should just stop listening to music, you obviously don't understand it.
he has brought real music back to the charts, so he must be doing something right!
La mejor canción de todos los tiempos ♥️♥️♥️
I agree; Michael Buble has the classic voice that has been lacking in modern music. He brings the class that Sinatra had....
Great song to sing. Love this version. I was privileged to sing this on my first TV appearance.
He's one of the few crooners singing in this day and age. Be happy there's people keeping this song and genre alive.
Put it this way, Buble will never be remembered for his version of Mack the Knife. It will always be Bobby Darin
M.B. also famous in Hungary too. We like him very much. His music makes our parents and grand's to feel in their young age. it's a pity that he hasn't come here yet to make a big concert and let us enjoy his great voice and show!
All those artists are awesome beautiful is they have different styles in singing period !!! Thanks 👍🎶🎶🎶🎶
Just when he was starting at his roots, even here you can see that he was going to be an amazing vocalist.
so right and not only that but he has so much energy as well. Top performer and a talented singer
Have you heard his recorded version of this? It's amazing- the younger him, I mean. I love him so much- and anybody who hates this version is delusional. He sings with soul and passion, and his voice is as smooth as coffee. Man, you must not have ears.
I've never understood why I like this song or how it got popular... it's about a murderer!
But it's so catchy!!!
IM SO EXCITED TO SEE MICHAEL BUBLE!
Great performance. He is obviously having fun. It is as if the rythm of the music is making him dance, and he cannot stop.
Hooray! The new Wayne Newton! Las Vegas LIVES!
His voice is PERFECT! I know he doesn't sound quite like Elvis, but he reminds me SO MUCH of Sinatra and Elvis.
amazing artist... he gets better with each song he performs... you go Michael Woooo Hooo for all us ladies out here listening to your sweet tunes xxx
17 YEARS STILL GOING STRONG!!
only boddy darin could create such a song and only michael buble could create such a brilliant cover :)
la mejor voz de los últimos años estoy emocionada
Before you start bashing him, you've got to remember that artists like Buble are bringing back the great old classics and showing them to younger audiences. excellent i love this man cant get enough of his voice
well. whatever you all say, he's got a fabulous voice for this kinda music.
I can't understand the hater's comments. This version is beautiful.
dude.... i love all things crooner.....there aint many left the bubble's the best there is
he was sooooooo young!!!!!!!!!!!!! he was used to playing like a clubs and stuff! he's WAY better now!
I want to hear the end of this video.... the young Buble rocks!
Wow, this is an old clip. thanks for posting.
There is absolutely NO comparison with the likes of Sinatra, bennet etc!! Michael is in a league of his own,he commands the stage with such charisma and a rare talent the likes of us will only see once in a lifetime!! I love Michael, he have a fabulous voice and he's so handsom too :)
even when he is quite unexperienced here he looks so comfortable and convitenced. He really is such a great artist. And is voice is the greatest ever.
Love him! =)
he is the best !!
incrible!!!
I love him : )
HE's have a sweet voice of the jazz.
Nice job, someone has to carry the torch for those who are gone! Job well done!!
Mack The Knife is originally written by Berthold Brecht, a german author, and he wrote "Die Morität von Mackie Messer" (original german title) for his piece of theatre " Dreigroschenoper".... And it was translated by Marc Blitzstein in 1928...
Bobby Darin nailed this song better than all others! That's why everyone, including michael Buble here, attempt to sing it in the style of Darin...
wow this is great! I miss Bobby Darin...
Proof that big band isn't dead :)
He has a beautiful voice ! And easy on the eyes too !
If this were the early 20th century Buble would've been the protagonist in at least six different movies by now
Nobody can sing this as good as Louis Armstrong
He was younger here. He has improved a lot since then. He has matured.
awesome singer and performer one of the best!W
i absolutely positively love this song
michael bublé and frank sinatra are wonderful :]
Vancouver is awesome ! =P
He was young at that time, and hadn't developed his style yet, but he is magnificent performer, singer!
gosh I love this song ...I really do
@poissonCHA1 It's Bobby Darin who made this song recognizable worldwide.
Bobby owns this song.
Lovely lad in all respects!!!
its amazing how people always downsize the current generation of musicians with talent because they cover songs made by the legends. if you people just kept an open mind you'll find that we have very talented musicians here and now carrying on the music made long ago instead of letting it drown in the, talentless, soulless music that crowd the mainstream today.
Bobby Darin songs are a different level to the rat pack stuff, and Michael's performance shows that. Thats why he never performs Bobby now.
That is actually very true. The phrasing in this song is quite difficult to grasp compared to most jazz standards.
Nada II This version sucks compared to how Bobby Darin sang it. Buble doesn't know how to sing. Not even one ounce as good as Bobby.
+Anita Zenobia I must completely disagree with you. For one, you don't sounds truly cultured in jazz/blues/bebop etc... for two, nobody with a respectable opinion says "This version sucks".
Bobby Darin sang a version but it's not his song
Graaande Michael!!! Y GRAAAAAANDE FRANK!!!!
I LOVE MICHAEL BUBLE
la classe!! Trop fort ces Michel
God he looks so YOUNG! 23 he was then.
I love him...Ella is my fav singing this song though...!
never mind the 'whole 'song ...just putting your 'whole' HEART into it would help...Buble sings like he can't be arsed.........ROBBIE puts his heart and soul into it which is why he always reigns supreme.....even I put more soul into singing in the shower!!!!!!
This man is amazing!
I think he's great. Very original.
dude rocks!!!!!
Mike u really good son.
There are 3 classic versions of this song. Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra & the late great Bobby Darin. Darin's version was a great example of how to swing a standard.

i think that's actually a really nice version...good for you boy...
SMOOTH AS SILK!! LOVE YA MICHAEL
The best cover i've ever heard is when my dad sings this at Kareoke whenever we are on holiday.
Dare I say he does it better than Bobby!
@lawsonmahoney Michael Bublé wrote Haven't Met You Yet with his music Director Alan Chang and his Co-writer Amy Foster. I love bouble....
cause he's sooooo good, TeamDrussell

Michael is talented...and we wish him well but he does not have the whole package like Robbie Williams...Come to America Robbie...
he is so amazing
What a voice!
a 100% agree...plus, haters love to hate..they should get a life
I love michael buble and have seen him several times. However I do agree that the original by Bobby Darin is the best and I also agree that Its worth checking out the film 'Beyond the Sea' . Its great, especially if you like this type of music.
"oh the Shark babe, has such teeth dear"
Great post, thank you!
you guys realize this was when he was just starting out? This video is from 1998,his first album didn't come out till 5 years later.
@jonytsunami, Personally speaking I think Buble is a great singer, and he really does justice (almost sounding like Darin in my opinion) to this song. Between Darin and Buble, these are really the two best versions I've ever heard.
no one can sing louis songs as good as he did.
Bertolt Brecht wrote the lyrics (which have been changed hundreds of times because they were originall written in German), Kurt Weill wrote the music.
I think he does great here.
He looks so young!
i like it, i think he does a great job. its not easy to sing in front of people AND a camera, no matter how much you do it. pinosworld and tdtd98 just can't appreciate the fact that he sings better than either of them...get up an try that kids.
very good jazz. tks
HATERS!!! stop hating on this talented guy. hes worked so hard for you to make stupid little comments
haha me too, I just turned my back for a second and I was like: whaaat?
nobody does it better than bobby darin
@liverpoolishgirl - Sinatra also sang this song. Four notable names have: Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, and Robbie Williams. All amazing voices and performers.
