I agree the one on the left done with the gouache used as gouache rather than watercolors is more pleasing. I have used them a bit and liking them quite a bit a bit.
Hi Sandrine. Fabulous pieces. Both are lovely but the second one is my favourite. Also meant to comment on an earlier video you did on Princeton Neptune brushes. I bought a few after watching. They arrived yesterday and they are excellent and may just be a new favourite.
The paper in this sketchbook is watercolour paper, 300 gsm, and it worked well. Your choice of paper will depend on which technique you go for: more water requires heavier paper. For the first painting I would normally go for my usual 640 gsm, as I really drenched it.
I took your advice and bought a set of gouache HIMI brand. I actually like the way it goes on the paper and the brighter colour I can achieve. Thank you

I have never painted with gouache.
You should try it, it is very pleasant and easier than watercolours when used in the way I did in the second painting :)
