That's strange, I never heard of them winning a grammy for that record at that time. I mostly remember them for back in the 90's for their earlier stuff which was cooler and awesome in a raw sense. But had no clue how really talented and refinely skilled they are as to how they market their skills around. This is a very insightful interview.
idk every interviewer I've seen is rude to Linnell and a cut-off is almost mandatory. They treat him like George (or worse, Ringo!) of the Beatles, when they're a duo. He's just quieter, so I guess like George.
Middlesex has absolutely nothing to do with sex, it's a classic novel that won a Pulitzer Prize. He obviously just didn't care. He let JF talk explain his gossip novel, though. :/
I saw their two-man show in the early 90s (taken by a friend, and I confess I was not a big fan at the time), and they really rocked! Of course, I was right up in front of the stage. Maybe it was not so good "from a distance".
The ticker at the bottom is fucking obnoxious. Pick a lower third and stick with it, don't change it every 8 seconds with a distracting animation each time.
Idk I love them both. The earlier music they made is nice because it's raw and simple but also super visionary but their new shit is more seasoned and as a result is still good.
They Might Be Giants kid's albums are like their normal albums, except not as many songs about death.
Lots of songs about going to sleep
No is one of my favorite albums of theirs!
have you HEARD the dial-a-song version of four of two?
Not NO songs about death, just not as many
Did John Flansberd just say meeting JFK must have been a 'mind blower' lmao
He did. And it's Flansburgh
i love the text on the bottom it's so funny watching them blow up how Linnell doesn't use spotify
HOW DO 'THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS' LISTEN TO MUSIC?
This just in! "They might be giants embraced tech early" raises new and disturbing questions.
I'm surprised one of the quotes didn't get spun as "They Might Be Giants ventures into forbidden territory with kids."
Yeah...
They Might Be Giants now have a song in a musical with the Spongebob musical.
Aww yeah, the Flansbeard is back!
THE CAPTIONS ARE KILLING ME 💀
@@Kaleidosope_Eyes and perhaps who are you
For some reason, I always think of TMBG as Linnell's band; even though he's not necessarily the designated spokesman.
Linnell is happy to let Flans do most of the talking, as he is really the motor of the band.
the failed vodka launches !!
Flansy's humor went clear over the guy's head
And I thought I was the only one that heard that! LoL
Flansy has aged very well
They both have!
bruhh the captions underneath are so annoying “is spotify like the irs” THEY DIDNT SAY THAT
There must and shall be a TMBG Broadway musical.
"is spotify the irs?" LOL
2:42 what an excellent segue by the interviewer, lol

Weird how the interviewer just cuts Linnell off about his favorite book. I guess he didn't want to talk about something with the word sex on the show.
somehominid IMO: out of time.

the captions when they were talking about spotify im screaming
I met my wife in their chat room.
I'm very curious about the wedding song y'all had
@@noko1340 where your eyes don't go
"Is Spotify the irs?" Like wha?
I didn't know that's how Luddite was pronounced
Super
Weird Al will solve most problems. REM's a good stain remover. TMBG can clean up the rest. Any freak stragglers, go with The Mushuganas.

I agree.
I like early "drum machine" TMBG better
#MeToo
I like how the 2 guys come across as normal rational and likeable
Me too for the most part but c'mon, John Henry was an exceptional album!
I like all TMBG.
Idk I love them both. The earlier music they made is nice because it's raw and simple but also super visionary but their new shit is more seasoned and as a result is still good.
Linnell: fake accordionist.
I didn't know he also played the fake accordion. That's amazing!
@Tony Wilson get lost moron
I’m a fake harpsichordist.
I know it’s been 7 years, but please explain yourself. What the fuck does this mean
