Hello Wise Owl. You Are really great in SSRS. Do you have any Page setup video in which you have shown the landscape setting before saving file to a PDF. Because I am having this issue, Actually I have 18 columns to show. Half of my columns are out of page and appearing in 2nd page. I want to fix them in one page. Please help !
I am afraid, I cannot create a shared dataset in my web portal. The +New menu does not show the Dataset entry. I have successfully created a shared Data Source and it works, however shared data set is not available. Thank you for your excellent tutorial, any help would be appreciated.
Same thing is happening to me. I cannot find any information about how to solve this issue of not showing every possible new items to create. Only new database, new report and new folder is showing on my web portal. I would appreciate any help with this issue. Thanks
@@WiseOwlTutorials hi; im so appreciate what you have done in your channel; it's very helpful and thank you so much; just wanna know your plan in the future ; it's late in my country so have a nice night or have a good day sir :)
I'm a bit confused on shared data sources, previously there was a view of shared data sources in SSRS, but in this new report builder I can't find an option to view/create them for use over multiple reports, I also can't browse between multiple reports and only open 1 in Power BI Report Builder... Am I missing something or has the portal concept with shared dataset views been dropped? Also on create a new data source, I have no radio button to select use a shared connection or report model
Hi Neil! Were you previously creating your reports in Visual Studio with the Reporting Services project templates installed? If so, you can still do things that way, you'll just need a copy of Visual Studio visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/community/ and the RS project templates extension marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ProBITools.MicrosoftReportProjectsforVisualStudio2022 Report Builder is designed as a lightweight, end-user tool for quickly authoring reports so it lacks a lot of the useful developer features that you get in Visual Studio. You can create shared data sources/datasets in Visual Studio in the usual way. The web portal is still in use to view your deployed reports and you can create shared data sources/datasets there as well. I hope that helps!
Hi there, you can create an expression for the connection string property in the Data Source Properties dialog box. This might help stackoverflow.com/questions/24065148/dynamically-set-the-data-source-for-ssrs-reports-without-unattended-execution-ac
Can somebody help me pls. * I created a shared datasource and i use the option saying use the ff credentials. * the credentials I used is an admin user in sql server. (user and password) * the data set is linked on the data source. * connection string: Data Source=LAPTOP-V0DH9R4M\MSSQLSERVER2019;Initial Catalog=Movies; * Report Server Config is set up as sql credentials with sysadmin role in sql server. Problem: * I have two account users in my laptop. One is admin user and the other is standard user. When i use the admin, it works fine. * But when I use the other user, it cannot load the report. It says: "The SELECT permission was denied on the object tblFilms, database Movies, schema dbo" * I wonder why it saying select denied since the user i already used in my data source is already admin sql. * I even make the other user of the laptop as an admin too but still it cannot load the report. Complete error message: The execution failed for the shared data set 'DataSet1'. (rsDataSetExecutionError) Query execution failed for dataset 'DataSet1'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'tblFilm', database 'Movies', schema 'dbo' Its been days, i cannot resolve this issue somebody pls 😭

Hi! Perhaps you don't have Content Manager or Publisher permissions for the folder you're working in?
