    Drove the VW ID 4 pure which is in the same price range as the trophy, it was sluggish and only 213 miles of range, Drove a MGZS trophy today and so pleased with the ride and performance I bought a red trophy for March delivery 2022. There’s nothing out there that beats this for range it’s a no brainier guys 270 miles of range at this price MG all the way !!!

      Buying an MG supports the Communist Party of China. People that care about their own economy buy products from people/companies/brands that are designed and/or developed and/or researched in their own country or ally country. The people that work for those local companies, in free democracies, then buy other products developed in their own country or ally country and that keeps their families and friends in work and making money. Stupid people buy direct from Chinese brands and send every single penny out of their country and destroy their own economy and eventually their entire free society because they are cretins and/or greedy and/or want things they can't afford, and rather than wait and save. They are happy to screw over their entire economy in the pursuit of self-gratification, selfishness, and ego. Buying CCP owned brands and products fuels Chinese R&D and weakens free economies. Your children and your children's children will suffer as a result of your choices. This is not hyperbole, it is fact.
      Oh and the 'everything is made in china' argument is facile. A) production is slowly moving out of China, B) That is more reason not less reason to support western brands that way you limit the damage. Buying directly from China (CCP) by buying Chinese brands only worsens the situation. The only reason our economies have some level of balance is the fact that not everyone is stupid enough to buy Chinese (CCP) brands. So no. the 'everything is made in China' argument is not an argument of any substance what so ever.

      It was from Vanarama during the Black Friday sale. It's a lease deal and 10k miles a year. I've bought, done pcp but never leased. I did the maths and leasing means I get a brand new car every 3 years for 9 years for the same cost of doing a pcp on this model. I swap my car every 3 to 4 years so makes sense for me.

    A well balanced and very informative review by James Morris on the MG ZS EV Long range 2022. This electric car is a no brainer for me.
    I will be collecting my MG FREE OF Charge courtesy of the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan
    You see, my latest TFL autopay statement is debiting by bank account 30 x £12.50 daily for ULEZ only which works out at £375 per month for nothing, an additional £27.50 per day for nothing, if I stray over the line and into the Congestion Area in my 2012 Skoda Roomster TDi.
    I will be collecting my new MG Trophy soon with a 7 year Guarantee including the battery, nearly 300 mile range and £000.00 TFL Autopay monthly bank debit.

    Great review - couple of things you probably know but didn’t mention. Air con is now climate control and the other improvement to MG Pilot is that it now uses regen braking during cruise control. The old one just used friction brakes. Things still on the wishlist - better suspension. It’s very bouncy. I think reviewers call it head roll. Better efficiency. Faster charging. But for the price, pretty well specced. To me it’s like the previous generation Kona with worse suspension and range but slightly better kit and more interior space.

    • @WhichEV
      @WhichEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And for less money! Thanks for these details. Did not know about the regen during cruise control. That's a good addition. Totally agree about the bounciness. We described it as "soft" in reference to that sense. When my colleague drove it he really bounced me around a lot!

      I’m so pleased to see this. One problem I have with other EV’s is that their acceleration and top speed put them in expensive insurance groups. I’d love to see some sort of software limiter that I could agree to voluntarily impose slower acceleration and lower top speed in trade for lower insurance. I’m a grandmother living in a rural setting so I’ll be rarely above 50~60 mph, even on the bypass. Most of the time 40 mph or less. Don’t need Tesla sub 4s to 60 performance, don’t want to pay the insurance premium that comes with it.

Presumably you put the car to reverse or press a button. Pity doesn't have string enough regen for 1 pedal braking. Kia E Niro is still its biggest competition but why go for a Kona electric with cramped space and boot? @WhichEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It really depends on how you drive and on what kind of roads. Around a city and driving calmly, you could even exceed the WLTP. But on a highway at 70mph you are likely to get around 200 miles on a full charge. This is true of all EVs. The WLTP test doesn't include enough highway driving.
