I've always been fascinated by this concept in Russian literature as well! As a music major, I was sort of tangentially introduced to it when I took a seminar on Prokofiev and Shostakovich. The translation of Uradivi(sp?) that I we were taught was "Holy Fool". It was sort a way of speaking "truth to power."
Very interesting. I hadn't heard about this before. I kind of see myself as one of these fools in Christ. It kind of describes me. Lol. Probably describes a lot of the brave truth tellers at this time. Many of us have lost everything, even family, to just love our country and humanity. I can't follow the establishment. I put Jesus and love first always. It's surprising how ostracized a person can be for doing that. And when I tell them what I believe, they think I'm nuts. Oh well. Don't care.

Every video that you produce and that I've had the pleasure and privilege of viewing, always leaves me feeling as if I've just attended some exclusive prestigious but very interesting doctoral college course; the information you provide is clear, indepth, well researched and all encompassing. It's literally a joy to receive such wonderful intellectual stimulation. Please by all means, regardless of opposition, continue in your ministry, your wonderful endeavor to help educate the public at large of what some how has been lost by too many (either by laziness, being too occupied or focused in their daily lives and of course the neverending barrage of excessive liberal propaganda through all media outlets and the regurgitation of said propaganda by low information sycophant citizens through social media) the true meaning of and practical daily exercise of real critical thinking and sound logic as well as continuing to scrutinize all incoming data, continuing to daily educate ourselves with updated relevant subjects and information that are affecting our daily lives and that may or will affect our future lives. I for one am sincerely grateful and deeply appreciative of all of your efforts. Thanks for being one of our times great intellectual beacons of hope, logic and reason for our country and the common citizen in this critical time.
There’s a really interesting scene with a Holy Fool in the Russian opera Boris Godunov, by Modest Mussorgsky. I bet you’d love that opera, Dinesh, if you haven’t seen/heard it already.

That was a great movie, The Fool In Christ was a movie that my Church had me watch ahead of my baptism. I am Orthodox Christian and I found it beautiful.

Loving the Russian Literature review . . . Prince Myshkin is one of my all-time favorite characters from literature . . . Make sure you read the Richard Pevear / Larissa Volokhonsky translation . . . Actually Dinesh is wrong about the Title of "The Devils" or "The Possessed" . . . The actual Title should be "Demons" which Richard and Larissa corrected . . . They have re-translated all of the Russian Classics into English . . . Without their translation, it would be like going into an art gallery wearing black and white glasses . . .

Shah says this about Nasruddin in his book The Sufis: “The Nasruddin stories, known throughout the Middle East, constitute one of the strangest achievements in the history of metaphysics. Superficially, most of the Nasruddin stories may be used as jokes. They are told and retold endlessly in the teahouses and caravanserais, in the homes and on the radio waves, of Asia. But it is inherent in the Nasruddin story that it may be understood at any of many depths. There is the joke, the moral - and the little extra which brings the consciousness of the potential mystic a little further on the way to realisation.”
