Have yet to tear into an automatic any further than a shift kit or band replacement. Something I've been wanting to learn since most reputable trans shops are going by the way of the dinosaur. Great video! Would have been nice to better explain the 'upgrades' and their benefit for us guys looking to tear into one of these for ourselves.
@@cprgarage3206 NICE. Good Info to know. You were talking servos, and 'lettered' Levers, etc... too. I have a BB C6 in my '78 that is just about completely smoked, I may take a stab at.... see if I can do a rebuild. Couldn't make it much worse.... lol
That is DEFINITELY not how to assemble a C6 . Front assembly from sun shell forward is done on the bench and fitted in one piece. That Sonnax servo will need machining. All that junk in the pan came from somewhere . Look up Frank Merkl will show how it is done. Be surprised if the pump bush stays in place , that's bad. Blocked accumulator valve is a normal mod to firm up shifts
I have a question; I've got an F-150 w/C-6. After repairs to eng vacuum tubes & hoses, the trans struggles in drive but works fine in reverse. Do you think it's something I've done or has the trans just quit working right?
I can't drive forward, feels like it is fighting against it self. I had to back down the street and back up into the driveway. That's were it has sett.
Looks good! I'll send you my c6 out of my 86 f-150 and have you rebuild it because I am a motor person my self not a trans guy! How about that you game! Thanks for the video.
Take this criticism with a grain of salt buuuuuuuut I’m not a fan of switching the camera on the phone back and forth. That 4 R 100 front planet gear and shell will launch like a rocket ,, it's called a quick fix for your sick C-6 👍

6 pinion stronger gear sets from an E4OD. Also better gear ratio than stock 3 pinion C6 stuff!

Why would you want a stall converter unless your racing
They all have stall converters and 2500 is pretty low.
When are you going to get that 460 running and dynoed? We're all dying to see it!
Running hopefully end of the month. Dyno is a whole other thing to tackle. No engine dyno in the state anymore

Struggles how? All the vacuum hosed will affect is shift RPM and firmness

Yep you probably have some internal problems, piston or band stuck applied or something binding up
