Queens Mango They expect me to believe that a king of an entire city, doesn't understand the concept of theft. The reason Blackbolt ended up in jail was stupid, I happen to agree with Maximus, the royal family are complete assholes to humans. In any other civilization this would be seen as the peasants rebelling, and no one would root against them.

The first episode was AMAZING!!! I'm hooked....already my new fave tv show of the season. I can't wait to watch episode 2 and tag a long on this heart pounding adventure!
The sentinel service reminds me of MRD (Mutant Response Division) from Wolverine and the X-Men.

So far good start for the first episode. This show really takes elements from previous X-Men stories especially from the films like X2: X-Men United, X-Men, Wolverine and The X-Men, Logan and finally X-Men The Animated Series (also a cool easter egg to the 90's animated show, famous cameo). The classic modern underground railroad where Mutants are trying to seek refugee/safe haven is a nice approach. Smart approach from Matt Nix and I am waiting to see how the story will progress even further.
Reading the positive comments on Gifted is really making me laugh. Not too long ago, the amount of hate and diss this show got even before it aired was insane. Goes to show, the internet needs to calm down and stop thinking they're all psychic

Pretty good first episode. I can’t wait to see what more could these kids do. A part of me can’t help but wonder if Andy might have it in him to be an Omega level mutant, down the road. Or at least the potential.
I believe he has the potential. That's why Sentinal Servies wanted them so badly.
well he nearly brought down a school, I bet could level an entire city once he mastered his powers.
i could see him being an Alpha class mutant, but him being an omega level mutant is a bit of a stretch i think.

Omega Class is a term that is used to refer to a mutant possessing powers without foreseeable limits for example Legion's spontaneous mutations.
Those sentinels are like mini-drones and they remind me of droids from Star Wars.
hope we get to see the other versions in the future.
Raghu Seetharaman I was almost viewing them as pre-sentinels.....that is, the initial version of what ultimately would have been seen in Days of Future Past but might still exist in the new timeline (because technology never leaves and dies, it just changes hands), which I'm fairly certain we're in.....somewhere between slightly before or after Westchester (no X-Men or Brotherhood) and whenever Logan took place.
Technology always keeps evolving no matter what. It feels like the timeline has been reset or the timeline has slightly altered.
Raghu Seetharaman yeah, from Mystique not killing Nixon....or Trask, for that matter :) Also, the tech I meant was the clunky 1973 sentinels which became the rounded morphing sentinels in 202x. The spider sentinels seem like a kind of middle ground between the two
I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Fassbender makes a special guest appearance as Magneto because continuity doesn't really matter.
First episode was surprisingly really good. Lets hope it continues
they even had Stan lee show up something Marvel's Netflix show's can't even do
Stan Lee actually did have a tiny cameo in all five marvel Netflix shows, he represents the police force in all of the Netflix marvel series's
. In daredevil the cameo pops up in episode 13 at around 27:20 mins, look at the police portrait that appears on the wall in the backdrop .
. In Jessica Jones the cameo pops up in episode 7 at around 40:26 mins, in fact, it's the same image and location from daredevil.
. In Luke Cage the cameo pops up in episode 12 at around 17:30 mins, it is a poster on a shop window which says "See a crime? report it."
. In Iron Fist the cameo pops up in episode 13 at around 7:50 mins, it can be easy to miss if you’re not paying close attention. In the walkway of a building, there is a poster for the NYPD. It’s a recruiting poster, which says “Be Proud” running down the side of it, and as you’ll notice, Lee is the face of the organization.
. In The Defenders the cameo pops up in episode 3 at around 26:15 mins, it can be seen when Matt is walking down the street following Jessica. As he does, a poster comes into view over his right shoulder. Once again the poster is advertising something for the police department with Stan Lee as the face of the police force.
All that said though, i do think Netflix approached the cameo's in a very minimalistic and lazy way, compared to the rest of the MCU.
Netflix/Marvel felt a real Stan Lee cameo would betray the tone they were going for in those shows.

I saw the pilot and I think it´s awesome. Two thumps up. Totally recommended. I can´t wait for 1x02.
I do not believe that people would like to be thumped up in the air more than once.
I hope this show becomes about so much more than the government hunting them. That's always been the most depressing part about the X-Men.
But thats what the whole x-men sentinel comic arc is about(which this show is based on).
You have to remember this show's timeline is set before the x-men days of future past movie and before wolverine went back in time to fix the timeline.
This show is the lead up to the Days of Future Past.
It is? I thought it was in modern day. In fact, the showrunner said that the X-Men and the Brotherhood both disappeared because of some mysterious world-changing event that'll be revealed later on in the series. Also, remember that Lorna is Magneto's daughter. It may not be before the movie, but it IS probably based on the comic book story line.

BPG Time That actually makes this story pretty tragic, because I don't see most of these character surviving the future of Days of Futures Past. It was like Hell on earth for mutants. They were being hunted and slaughtered in droves. It'll be interesting seeing what leads up to that.

I really hate shows where government goes to try to arrest people that don't even deserve it. 😡
it refllects the reality in many countries where ppl have guns to defend themselfes, they are already seen as dangerous, and arrested even when they didn't hurt anyone, like in Brazil, where i live
30 killings 4 every 100.000 people, when the acdepted civilized limit is 10 tops, we have 200.000.000 ppl and 70.000 murders every year, Brazil is a gun free zone (and the anti gun idiots say that here is not forbidden, but they know it is in practice, because they are right, is not forbidden, but is almost impossible to be allowed to buy a gun legally, Is like saying "i'm not taking ur right to eat a chocolate, i'm just saying that now u gotta climb a 40 meters building for that") why is brazil so bad in public security issues?
1-Maximum penalty allowed by law is 30 years, and is extremely rare to see the criminals stay that long in prision, they are usually out in less than 6 yrs
2-If u are a minor u can rape, kill, torture, and the law will be at your aid, (seriously) by claiming that u, for being a minor, didn't knew u were raping killing or torturing, even if u r 17 yrs and 364 days old, your victim's family will recieve no aid at all from the law. Yeah, i mean it
3-If u are a cop, u can't kill a bad guy, even if is a kill or be killed situation, There were many cases here in brazil, of cops who were sentenced to prision for murder EVEN IN CASES THAT WERE A KILL OR B KILLED SITUATION! (there was a case, that a cop managed to kill 3 criminals who tried to kill him, and a woman of the brazillian government says it would have been better if the cop was killed, because than it would be only 1 mother crying, not 3, REALLY, that's what most people who runs public security here thinks)
4- The cop's guns are extremely bad, they often don't fire, jam, or fire with any little movement, and the criminals, are armed to the teeth, even when is forbidden to have a gun in brazil (of course, criminals spit in the face of the law, that's why they're criminals, so why would the gun ban law b any different?) AND when the police aprehend these weapons, they used to have to destroy them, so they would have to keep low quality guns, thank goodness it changed, but it's recent, it changed in march so... yeah
5- U can be arrested for murder for "too much self defense" (seriously) if for example someone attack u with a knife, and u shoot the person 3 times, there's a chance the judge will say "u only needed to shoot him once, that was too much self defense", and arrest u, it happened when a famous model in Brazil was attacked by a crazy fan, and her brother in law got the gun and shot him 3 times, saving the sister in law. But there were judges who said he was "a killer" and "should be arrested for more self defense than he needed".
Now i'm gonna end this comment with 2 questions. And i really would appreciate an answer

Vitor Menezes de Mattos Shooting someone three times in self-defence shouldn't be considered murder, if that's what you mean, but I'm not sure of any country that wouldn't be more harsh to that person in court if they did such. Almost anyone will fall to the ground in one shot, so.... do the math.

not true, the mythbusters themselfes tested this myth, do u know when in a movie the hero shoots the bad guy's goon and he falls? it would need do be such a powerful shot so that could be true, that would break the shooter's hand with the strengh of the gun movement when the shot get fired

BPG Time Really? I would think that this is set in the new timeline (the One Logan Changed) b/c they said that the X-Men are missing. Some of the X-Men died in the Winchester incident as and that's why they disbanded. That's why I felt like this was a few years prior to LOGAN.

makes sense too, more than my theory, i think is possible to see blink passed out back there, and that may be making her use the power with no control, and then lauren is trying to close the portal

I think is better this way, they have more freedom to tell the stories they want without worrying about continuity issues, specially with the messy timeline from the movies. The show is pretty cool so far, hopefully they'll keep it up.
So I can assume this show is part of the day of future past timeline before logan was sent back to change it which makes sense. Now i hope more info on new mutants becomes available i'm quite curious what timeline will that take place in.

The characters are great, but this show is going to need to keep adding characters to keep me invested. Not useless one offs tho. It's just that the cast is a little small right now. But it's solid. So build on that small cast and bring new people in.
