2012 with 80k. Like new, nothing but oil changes. I did also change my rotors, pads, and spark plugs at 75k. My mechanic told me all of them probably could have gone another 75k. Happy I changed them, since they were 8 years old, but, damn they were quality parts with a lot of life left!

The FJ Cruiser definitely has a timeless design. People think mine is brand-new (2011 @ 210,000 miles). I also found the same with sun/heat and the vertical windshield. I realized it while hiking in California. Everyone else had to wait for their cars to cool off before getting in and I was so confused because my FJ was fine, lol.
I love the interior. I literally hosed my interior down when I bought mine. I bought it during the height of COVID and I'm high-risk, so once I found it was waterproof, I went right at it and have had no issues. I've had mine in the desert so it dries out just fine. 😂
Not only does mine have 210,000 miles but I am a full-time RVer and tow a 22-foot trailer. I've also taken mine offroading in the desert and sand dunes, but definitely no rock crawling. It doesn't have a single squeak or rattle.
I never realized how comfortable my FJ was until I rode in other people's vehicles, especially on dirt roads.
I have no intentions of selling. I'm planning on moving to Spain in a few years and it will stay parked at my parents' house so I can drive it when I come home. I actually thought of shipping it, but the EU has stricter emissions standards.

I live in Houston Tx and I will be flying to Sandusky Ohio to get my Trail Team edition Red and with a little over 200,000 miles on it. I am hoping that the drive home will be enjoyable. I almost bought a 2007 blue with less miles for less money but when I was out shopping I spotted a Red trail team edition and he said the dealership had offer him 25,000 for his FJ. I fell in love with the color and matching seats. When I got home and search on the internet. I knew the only way I could afford a Red trail team FJ if it had a lot of miles on it. With it being a Toyota. I think it will be an enjoyable ride back home to Houston. Wish me luck. :o)

@@LiL13izzy7 I just wanted to update the trip to Ohio back to Houston with my new used 2012 FJ cruiser. The trip was incredible. The weather was nice and the FJ rode like a dream even though it already has over 200,000 miles on it. I would have never made the trip but being a Toyota owner. I know how these vehicles hold up. Made it back to Houston and all my co-workers was in awe of how new the FJ looked inside and out. Looking back now it was the best decision I ever made. Love it, Love it, Love it.

Like yourself I'm never selling my 2014 FJ. And what I really like is the smooth and comfortable ride.
I like it when the bluetooth picks up the music on my phone and starts the audio playlist. I like calling my wife from my FJ. It feels like she's in the vehicle with me. I like the convenience of 3 garage door buttons to open my garage door, my brother-in-laws gate and my sister in-laws gate. I like the 400 watt inverter to power my vacuum to clean out the back. I like my sub-wolfer and that heavy bass that turns my FJ into a Boom Box going down the road. I like that I am getting 20mpg because I'm only a mile from the highway and because I live in the boonies I'm always doing 55mph+. I like the huge side mirrors. I love my roof rack it is so practical for my auto carrier and carrying sticks of 2x lumber. I love washing him and fondling his body. I love doing donuts in the snow. I love it when I go to garage sales and people ask me what kind of vehicle it is and tell me they love the color (Army Green). I love how there is bare minimum road and wind noise and at lower speeds (under 55mph) there is none. I really like the look of the spare tire mounted in the back where Toyota so cleverly hid the reverse camera. I love the layout of the engine compartment its so clean and and looks so technologically advanced. I like the 3 gauges on the dash for special effects. I like how cold or warm I can control the temperature in the cab. I like how I get rid of a foggy window by just putting on the air conditioner. I like the audible reverse alarm sensor aside from the reverse camera images. I like the interior seats not too cold during the winter and not hot at all in the summer. I love towing my trailer which looks so cool behind the FJ. And I like the looks cuz FJ Cruisers are simply BEAUTIFUL with that bad ass attitude and head turns all vehicle owners want.

My 2007 FJ has 210,000 plus miles. Very dependable. I take this vehicle by myself 50 miles into the back country and feel safe. All my Toyota’s ( 30 years of Toyota’s )in the past have turned 250,000 miles plus. I’ve driven more than a million miles in Toyota’s.

Awesome! One of my favorite things about it is that it doesn’t look like anything else out there in the road. It has a unique style of its own. Reliability was a big one for me too. I personally don’t believe in financing vehicles ever because cars are just bad investments with many manufacturers designing them to break down so you buy more, but not the case with Toyota. I feel confident in my purchase and that goes a long way for me mentally.

I purchased a brand new 2007 in 2007...drove it until 2014 and traded it in for a 2014. they gave me 30K for the 2007. Thus, it appreciated about 10 K in 10 years. Now my 2014 will stay with me until my grandson starts driving in 15 years. BTW, my current rig is the 'exact' as this video and i keep it detailed like all my cars and has 85, 201 miles. Everything has a price and ive been asked many times if i want to sell it, my reply is "sure, $60K cash" with conviction. That is what it would cost to replace my FJ with a rig that has comparable features. Mosts FJ owners dont even know that their back window opens up with the turn of the key in the rear door lock. The FJ is the best car Toyota has ever made, I drove a Tacoma for years before my first FJ and loved it too. Great video Sammy.

@@golfplay3 3 month update: drove it for about 1500 miles so far and I’m in love. The ride quality is better than any luxury vehicle I’ve driven, also the engine is buttery smooth and accelerates like a dream. I replaced all fluids and got new rotors/brakes the day after getting the car. Then from there I took 3 days to do a solid undercoating/sanding to get rid of the rust. I’ve had so much fun with the vehicle, the only downside I’d say is the gas mileage. I average about 16 mpg, but it’s so worth it considering the value for dollar. Paid about $9k after transportation from auction and it was boston-kept since new, and was a clean no accident 1 owner vehicle. I’m the second owner, and I don’t plan on selling anytime soon. Unfortunately my fj didn’t come equipped with a lot of features, in fact all of my switches next to the transfer case are blank! No a-trac or locking diff or any other factory spec.

I'm in the land of OZ (Australia). Bought mine new in 2013 and it now has done 92,500 klms (57,476 Miles). I'm off road very often, mostly on sand towing a 17ft van. Absolutely love this vehicle and I've had many 4wd's over the years - this is by far the best I've ever owned! It's much more capable than it looks. If you keep your head on a swivel the blind spots aren't an issue, I recently drove it as a UBERX for 9 mths and most folks commented on how tidy and "new" looking it is, what a good ride it gave. She's in great condition and easy to keep clean. I bungee heavy things down to the restraints and haven't had a problem with breaking plastic. I liked your video mate, keep up the good work. When the Fj was first in production and sold here in the U.S, I have always wanted one. At that time, I was also driving a 1990 Supra. After several long years, I finally purchase my 07 Fj on July of 2020. I want to use my Fj as my weekend warrior to venture to new places with my wife and kids. I’m planning to keep my Fj and hopefully my kids can enjoy driving the Fj as well. Please follow me on Instagram @ out_doorlife20 for updated mods and weekend warrior trip.

    1. Design: Such a loveable and iconic design
HM: Cool Cabin: What I think plays a bigger role is the white rooftop which reflects more sunlight. Even in my black FJ, when I get in, the interior isn't that hot.
    2. Comfortable Ride: I have BFG tires (load range E) so I feel every single bump. The major thing I don't like about it.
    3. Safety: Sure
    4. Second glovebox: Yes
    5. Mods: Wish I could afford more mods but I have other priorities so mine is mostly stock.
    6. Easy to Clean Interior: Yes
    7. Rearview Camera: May be small but still way better than having no camera.
    8. Suicide doors: Neutral about it.
    9. Reliability: The big reason why I bought it
    10. Long-term value: While important, I also don't plan on selling it. Also don't think buyers will like the pin stripes.
    Would also like to add:
Side visors: in addition to your normal visors
Simplicity: Doesn't have all the modern unnecessary electronic crap that newer cars has. Easier to work on (versus newer cars). More reliable for this reason. My 2010 doesn't even have a touch screen and I like it that way.
Versatility: It can drive off-road fairly well even in stock so you can go further than a sedan or crossover could.
Community aspect: The FJ community is closer to each other versus buying a common car or even a jeep. You still feel more connected to other FJ owners on the road than, say, eclipse cross owners. While rarer than FJs, there's nothing special about them and I suspect most drivers dump them after the warranty is gone.

You have to literally put 200,000 miles on a Toyota in order to see how it feels when you have a well broken in engine. It's smoother, quieter wants to be driven hard. It's amazing. And in my case it added 1 mile per gallon more to my dismal 17mpg overall. I'm pretty confident an FJ Cruiser will perform the same way.

@@acsupersport7981 I thought back to when I first learned how to drive, and honestly, an FJ might be a bit intimidating for a brand new driver (imagine handing the keys to a school bus over to an inexperienced driver - an exaggeration, yes, but you get my point). I do agree that it is a safe vehicle, but you need to put yourself in the mindset of a baby learning how to walk for the first time, so to speak. If it were my own kid, I would want to set him/her up for success, and give them something more traditional (coupe/sedan). Lower center of gravity, less limited visibility, and most important of all - something that will instill confidence, as opposed to apprehension, perhaps. It took me a few weeks to acclimate to driving my FJ when I bought it (parallel parking with limited visibility, negotiating corners with body roll, changing lanes with confidence, looking out the back window with a tire blocking part of the view, etc.) and even as an experienced driver, I was nervous driving it off the lot initially because it felt so much bigger than what I was used to. Personally, I would love for my own kids to drive my FJ when they get older, but I am decidedly against having them drive it as their first car.
