As a life long Tull fan, I first saw Opeth open for Porcupine Tree on their "Damnation" acoustic tour. I liked them, and bought "Damnation". Imagine my surprise when the next record I obtained was "Blackwater Park"! I now own the complete discography of both of these marvelous bands.
If I were to choose 5 albums for an Opeth fan, for those who don't know any Tull albums, and who can appreciate the post-Heritage age, I would recommend: Rokflote 2023, Minstrel in the Gallery 1975, Roots to Branches 1995, Aqualung 1971, Passion Play 1973. This is my pick for today, probably tomorrow I would pick a different set ;)
Also, not all growls are the same. Not even all Opeth growls. Maybe it just isn't for you, fair enough! I have my own deal-brakers. Just don't be prematurely dismissive 😊🤘
Which albums would you recommend to Opeth fans discovering Tull for the first time ?

my father listened to Jethro Tull, I was a child but it seemed to stay in my head, so I continued with Opeth
@@MartinaHorvat-g3g same here, and I now I play Opeth records for my dad :-)
Love Stormwatch. So good.
Such an underrated gem in the Tull catalog. Love it.
