People accusing Thailand for being selfish.
If what Thailand did, which is protecting its own people, is considered selfish, what should this be called?
A powerful nation (who involved with the ship company and many of its passengers) putting pressure on a small poorer nation (who has totally nothing to do with it) to take the risk that is almost too huge.
Do they care about the risk Cambodia must take? Do they care about hardship of Cambodians in the worst-case scenario?
The statement is so obvious in their official embassy Facebook page that they only concern about their own citizens. No mentioning Cambodia after a few 'thank you'.

1. The situation on board the ship was far from "dying". They were more likely just "frustrated".
According to the interview by Reuter, passengers were still living comfortably, if not luxurious, with several meals per day, snacks, wine, internet, etc.
2. Thailand refusal doesn't mean "letting them die". Thailand offered to provide food, water, fuel, medication, or anything they need before a proper solution can be found.
3. Being generous is a good thing, no one can deny, but anyone should know their own capability. In my humble opinion, it's not the smartest thing to do to sacrifice your own well-being (and probably well-being of others close to you) when a better and more carefully thought-out solution is available.
