Ooooooh so it`s an Ulver cover, I spent last few weeks wondering just where the heck did I hear this song before... Many thanks for the upload and the info, I just have to get back to the old Ulver asap!
The song has a very weird mistake. Third and forth line: Her only friend was the homeward part, Hidden by the spreading snow These are in Norwegian the fifth and sixth line. While the fifth and sixth line in this cover: Could she but not, follow starry trails She would not be lost, amongst these spruces dark. Are in the original the third and fourth line. The mix-up is probably because of the offical lyrics by Ulver themselves are like this, while the acctual song is different. The sentence construction with the offical lyrics would not work with the change of melody in the second guitar riff, so that probably why the original adapter to this order of lyrics. I thaught it sounded a bit strange when I heard this cover song at first, but I could not at first not put my finger on it. This is probably not important anyway .😂 Also the title of the song is weirdly translated. I troldskog faren vild is old Norwegian-Danish from the Danish-Union times. It means: Astray in Troll-forest. or: In Troll-forest went astray Have yourself a nice day
Thanks for the curiosity, it's always interesting, but it's not something strange in black metal, bands wanting to be "tr00 kvlt" use a language they don't master and make a lot of mistakes, hehe
All in all I truly believe Ulver would be in awe at how professional and incredible this cover is. Dude above talking about lyrical mistakes fails to realize, even songs in English don't always use proper sentence structure or proper grammar, and when covering a song in which the original language doesn't have the easiest direct translation to English, it shouldn't be seen as an issue to rearrange words or lines here or there. Regardless, I fucking love both Ulver's original AND this badass English cover! 🤘
Garm produced the first album or something like that , tried to give it a listen with the expectations of bergtatt but didn’t really interest me , doesn’t sound bad though

And the cover art is itself a cover of the 'Bergtatt...' cover!
Love the visual theme of this music. You know exactly what it means without even hearing the music. Oh, but when you hear it, you LIVE it!

Done well but there is no significant difference between this and the original track lol.
