Once COVID is over, I will for sure visit Seoul. It's crazy how BTS are truly one of the only artists who actually make people want to travel to their country. I listen to many other artists (around the world), but not once did they make me think I'd like to visit where they're from/live. BTS got many of us invested in Korean culture and eager to learn the language, and I think it is beautiful that music can do this!
I felt the same too..only songs that can touched the heart n in many other ways also bring the flavour n culture of their country to the listeners will make you want to visit it..I’ve been to Korea twice ..can still revisit..lots to see n do!

S, you have a point there. But the same thing could be said about the Super Junior boy band cca 10 years ago. They were really popular among young students in the central Europe and also the reason of strong wish to learn Korean language, to study in Seoul and also to know not only about K-pop culture but about Korea all trough. My daughter is one of these students and she made her dreams come true. What is interesting, she also attended a performance of BTS in Seoul in 2015 and actually BTS with their stedfastness were the reason she wouldn't give up her studies there due to the difficulty of Korean language.

Although we are the same people, the South and North have gone on very different paths for way too long for us to be one country again. Communism (North Korea supported by Chinese communism) , as most of you know, is a very individual soul crushing political system. Their ways find every possible way for total control. It is not a system that encourages the individual's rights, freedom and freedom of expression. These are all things every single person on the face of this Earth has a right to in order to feel happy. In recent decades, China has been trying to claim many aspects of Korean heritage as their own. Although this has always been the case, they have been more aggressive in recent decades, now that we are garnering more international attention. Many Chinese have been buying a lot of land and property in South Korea and slowly trying to stain our political, cultural, and social fabric. South Korea, china and japan are very different people, cultures, and nations. Please avoid using the word "asian". If you ever visit Korea, although you may assume that the residents are all Korean, in fact, this is not the case. Korea has always been international and more so these days. Unfortunately the Korean peninsula is sandwiched in between two very aggressive, greedy neighbours (china, japan). We have survived hundreds of their invasions. Korea as a whole nation and culture has never invaded nor oppressed, nor stolen from another. This is our pride. We have become this successful, not by stealing from and killing others, but from our own hard work. China and japan have their own land and people, china especially. They need to work to improve their own things and people. They need to leave Taiwan and Hong Kong alone. Please learn our history. Please watch over us. @Habiba I forgot. Most of this does not go out of Korea because the government controls the media here. We are now under partial lockdown. There are police everywhere asking you who you are, where you live and where you are going. If you look like a supporter of the opposition party then they harass you. It doesn't feel like South Korea. It feels like North Korea. Oh and that kdrama, "Crash Landing on You", is a joke. North Koreans are not a danger to the world, they are only a danger to themselves. Most are just people, however, their corrupt government is never going to let go of their power. It is not a system that encourages the individual's rights, freedom and freedom of expression. These are all things every single person on the face of this Earth has a right to in order to feel happy.
In recent decades, China has been trying to claim many aspects of Korean heritage as their own. Although this has always been the case, they have been more aggressive in recent decades, now that we are garnering more international attention. Many Chinese have been buying a lot of land and property in South Korea and slowly trying to stain our political, cultural, and social fabric.
South Korea, china and japan are very different people, cultures, and nations. Please avoid using the word "asian". If you ever visit Korea, although you may assume that the residents are all Korean, in fact, this is not the case. Korea has always been international and more so these days.
Unfortunately the Korean peninsula is sandwiched in between two very aggressive, greedy neighbours (china, japan). We have survived hundreds of their invasions. Korea as a whole nation and culture has never invaded nor oppressed, nor stolen from another. This is our pride. We have become this successful, not by stealing from and killing others, but from our own hard work.
China and japan have their own land and people, china especially. They need to work to improve their own things and people. They need to leave Taiwan and Hong Kong alone.
Please learn our history. Please watch over us. Please support South Korea stay South Korea, free of communism so that we may live in peace on our own land.
Although we, like everyone else have our own flaws, for the most part, we work hard to do better to be better people. Please help us to do more. Thank you. Korea welcomes you. Stay safe and happy.

I always assumed their culture and history to be like that of China and Japan, but now I know that's not the case at all! @Habiba I forgot. Most of this does not go out of Korea because the government controls the media here. We are now under partial lockdown. There are police everywhere asking you who you are, where you live and where you are going. If you look like a supporter of the opposition party then they harass you. It doesn't feel like South Korea. It feels like North Korea. Oh and that kdrama, "Crash Landing on You", is a joke. North Koreans are not a danger to the world, they are only a danger to themselves. Most are just people, however, their corrupt government is never going to let go of their power. The only way a change can happen is if North Koreans stand up and fight their own leaders but I hardly think that's going to happen. Don't believe those stories that make the North and South reunification look simple. It's not, people kill and die for their political ideals and beliefs. We can live as peaceful neighbours but to reunify will only destroy the South. The South has already poured so much money into that country in order help, but it does not go to the people, it goes to their great leader and his cronies. It's not a simple problem.
