😅people comparing this to Toyota and Acura. Compare this to Buick and Nissan. That’s the VW competition. Let’s be realistic. Just because it’s a German brand doesn’t mean it’s assembled in Germany. BMW and Mercedes are often assembled in the USA like the X3. And this is a compact not a midsize. The hp for this size and price is standard
The front just reminds me of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the protruding grill and light shapes. Not feeling it, sticking with my current Volkswagen.
Agreed. I was 16 in 00/01 and wanted one of few small SUV options that were offered back then. They all had a little bit of coolness an about them. Sedans ruled, and these weren’t ubiquitous. It’s awful now.
Was excited to get a Tiguan for its sleek looks, practical use and spacious interior. Then I discovered it comes standard with a ticking time bomb. A failed PCV valve should not detonate the motor and leave you stranded on a deserted highway.
How's it Criminal? The Tiguan isn't a full size SUV. It doesn't weigh the part either. 201hp is perfect for the Tiguan. 240-250hp is right for larger SUVs cause they need it to get going. Tiguan is smaller doesn't need all that horsepower to get up and go.
Agreed, 201 hp is anemic. But do not fret, VW teams up with APR and in their usual fashion APR will offer a tune that maintains the VW factory warranty. APR's tunes usually provide around 20 additional hp and 25 to 35 more torque. At the WHEELS. One of the reasons I love VW. They're conservatively designed. Engaging to drive. And easy to tune.
@@reynaldocordero4247 While it's parked in your garage/driveway? Sure it's fine. It's when you start filling it with people and/or cargo, that the Anemic 201 horses start to show its ugly face.
I own Tiguan 2013 first gen, and was considering Tiguan 2025 to replace it, but now due to low HP, I am looking into Subaru Outback turbo charge 250 HP.
I liked the previous version front end wear. This one has like all the other cars, the light bar over the headlines. Plus the entertainment screen is very distracting too large. That’s why there are many accidents today.
Actually, column mounted shifters were normal for decades. Most of your high end cars are going back to column stalk shifters, like mercedes s class and top tier bmws, and rolls royce. Unless its an actual manual transmission model vehicle its probably just an electrical switch that actuates an electric motor on the transmission end anyway, no mechanical link between the 'shifter' and the transmission at all.
@@m6780Actually, these shifters you mention were very robust, not these flimsy little turn signal-like things you see in this video. I had cars in my family with shifters on the steering wheel. The one in this video? I don’t like it. I am aware the traditional shifters are likely electronic, but the chance of accidentally hitting them while driving is nil.
Might VW sell this in Europe albeit under a new name? Names like Tayron Sport, Grand Tiguan, Tirol (after an Alpine region divided by Austria and Italy), Trekka, Tiber (after a river in Rome), Taylar, Torant, Talya (derived from Antalya, a town/city in western Turkey), or whatever?
@HenryCalderonJr i used to love VW do not call me a hater if you don't know me buddy. My first car was a mk5 gti and i loved it. I am a car enthusiast and we have multiple channels and test vehicles daily...i am assuming you have the older model so you cant judge this new one yet if you havent driven it. This new tiguan just has issues... Because germany cannot get it together with their cost cutting, stupid emissions regulations and assistance technology that is nowhere near ready to be in vehicles and used on public roads... thats why most things they produce now are actually B.S. it's sad to see but true.
The new Tiguan has about 300 lbs of weight reduction, which is a mistake as it will affect it's stability. They should have up the HP from 201 to 275-300, with 3 L engine.
201 hp in 2025 is ridiculous. Price will probably be the same as the current model. If not more. I’ll stick with my Alfa Romeo for now. Whoever said yes to this crap engine should be fired.
I had a Tiguan with a third row seat. Never used it. No one ever wanted to be squeezed back there.
Well you knew that when you bought it- so as a grown adult, you’re crying about it-is just stupid..
201 hp is crazy for this size vehicle and they could've done a better job relocating the gear shift but other than that, nice little CUV 👍
Same setup as a mercedes.
Not true mine is in excellent condition and no issues for 4 years now 82000 miles
looks like every other suv/cross over the 1:29 1:10

Sick of seeing crossovers. Ugliest cars to been manufactured. Can’t see around them at stops or leaving parking lots. Pest cars.
Thank big ass trucks for the growth of crossovers
Must be a Prius owner.

What caused it?
Too much screen!!!! Dial it back
201hp is criminal for that size. 240-250hp would have been the sweet spot.

This is a beautiful car. I am not a fan of the gear shifter’s location. I want a real traditional shifter.
PRNDL all the way. Don't want to put the SUV in reverse putting on the wipers.

“Grinds a little extra pepper..”? 😑
Looks great and some of the interior control sins have been addressed.
Real knobs and buttons!
Gonna buy this for my mom
Hopefully that SEL Rline starts at $38K msrp
Is Volkswagen back to its premium era? If so, might consider
Isn’t it weird that it will only be available next summer as a 2025 model? I mean the year will already be half gone. It should be a 2026 model.

Why get rid of the 3rd row???
Too cramped, the wheelbase would need another 6 inches in length, otherwise it’s a joke.
Because that’s why the Atlas exist?
A third row is stupid. The vast majority of customers don’t need it.
Gear shifter on the column….😂😂
Plastic oil pan ?
New intro 👀
the only thing i'm gonna say is... Not too bad for a VW
WTH, a New Volkswagen Tiguan so This is Compared with Toyota Crown Signia
turbo ❌
no physical HVAC knobs ❌
There is a plug in hybrid coming :) search search
Paywalls for existing features = lame
Stalk gear selector is stupid
JUNK or GARBAGE take your pick.

Soon after 60k miles this thing will fall apart.

FACTS!! Volkswagens have generally been over priced AND unreliable for decades. Who needs that?!

I wouldn’t trust it
30 years owning all kinds of VW, literally zero problem

VW 😂 it won't age well
For sure!
Get used to looking at these in your passenger mirror as you overtake them on the left
I had a rental Tiguan last year. It was horrid. Uncomfy, numb, and slow. A car lacking any pretense of a soul.
Poor Reliability..
Sorry.. Toyota all day
This isn’t a Hyundai VW makes cars that last
