Love the first mindset. Just go for what you want, you just need someone to take a chance on you. You'll likely never feel "ready," but often the best way to get ready is being thrown into the deep end.
@@BABEENGINEER I appreciate that the first thing you said resonated with me, that is exactly how I got my first engineering job just by seeing if I was good enough And of course God's help😊
Please don’t ever stop making videos. I am going to boot camp this summer and your journey before attending your camp is similar to mine. One thing I am afraid of is not finding a job after a boot camp even if I am putting a lot of effort. Your videos literally are pushing me to believe in my self to continue learning how to code. And your are right this career path is just a steping stone for me😀
The algorithm brought me to your channel cause I’ve been watching a bunch of videos for both technical and soft skills for software. My mindset is about the same, just a little bit more vulgar. It’s, “fuck it, the worst they can say no” or “fuck it, it’s just one more thing to I can add to my skills.” I’m glad that I watched this because it helps enforce the idea
Thanks for the sharing! I was graduated from computer science major but haven't been coding for few year since graduation....Also I was not good at my academic as well. I lost my courage but your story and sharings are so encouraging. I am getting myself a new start and hope all get well!
This was definitely needed :) the process can be the hardest part. In the end it’s a mental game and this definitely helps a lot! Keep pushing y’all we got this!
I feel trapped right now, I haven't been able to improve my seniority, and the project was canceled. But these are things that don't depend exclusively on me... On the other hand, I can control my attitude, mind, and thoughts. I just discovered you and love your advice. They have really helped me a lot! ♥
Thank you! I have watched your video about how you became a software engineer. I am really impressed by how resilient and positive you are haha! I just started learning coding and your video encouraged me a lot! I just want to see if I can do what I choose well!
Just wow...this is surely going to help me in my journey of becoming a software engineer. I am going to start with my first internship in a couple of weeks. This is what I needed the most at this time.
Just seen a few of your videos and I love them, not only are you extremely smart, but you give awesome advice and love your honesty! Easy sub! If you see this comment, I would love to see a video about how life is like in SF right now!? Been thinking about moving there too but I just hear too many negatives on Reddit, etc… cheers 🥂 :)
I just started my journey into becoming a full stack developer last night, using my utter distaste for my current career field as motivation. A drastic career change can be intimidating but sometimes necessary
Brilliant mindset, another note is to get a proper diagnosis as if you have mental health condition, this could impact your rational thinking, ability to do work and hence your career/life in general
Preciate the info. Just starting my journey and learning myself. Current career as an ICU nurse and b4 that I was pretty much a piece if shit person. But my mind set started changing and I wanted better for myself which pretty much got me where I am today. That and discipline. I'm pretty much in a "back against the wall" situation now so this is what I'm going to focus on and make something happen.
Hey valerie, i dont know why your channel got recommended to me but its great it did. Im happy you are doing good with your job careere and youtube. Oh by the way we actually met in San francisco and hung out when and your friend came on the train to how wierd years back lol.
@@BABEENGINEER we where all walking to the festival and we just met walking to it, i belive you and your friend said you took the train from stockton. And we took it from san jose at the time and hung out till we all lost each other in side how weird 😁
Great video! You mention that authoritative figure part and it hit home. Its something I really want to work on. I don't want to see my manager or anybody with position higher as that type of figure. I'm in a respect your elders, keep quiet mentality and I have to break out of it. Any recommendations, video, readings that helped you would be greatly appreciated!
What advice would you give someone with imposter syndrome? I’m in my last 6 weeks of coding boot camp and I’m having anxiety about the job interview process with no degree. Need advice. My therapist is no help lol
I recently receive my associates in liberals arts and now I am going to school to get my bachelors in computer science. When is the best time to start looking for internships? I don’t have any experience in computer science so how can I get a job in this field?
You also have an advantage because you are female. Many FANG companies actively hire less qualified/experienced female engineers (while discriminating against more experienced males) to boost their diversity stats
You only get the job if you pass the interviews. So even if I am “female” I have to go through rounds and rounds of interviews to get to my position. Stop discrediting women’s achievements.
