    This is the most comprehensive video I've found about connecting on the dance floor. You cover so much: hands, centre, taking responsibility for your own role, eyes, smile, emotion. Really, very useful for a beginner. Some of these things I wouldn't even know to ask a teacher about and would just blunder through it otherwise.

      Thank you , that one of the things I get excited about the most on this channel. Many people teach moves, I like teaching beyond that too 🤩

    So much truth in this video. You are so right in positivity. Smiling to show appreciation that somebody is dancing with you, especially when you are both feeling the music, leads to spread of positivity when you return to your friends after the dance. And that is one of the reasons I love dancing so much

    Yes Rasa - Great tips; without connection & feeling I simply struggle to dance or think of moves & yet with that connection I don't need to think because I'm IN the dance & the dance flows. Playfulness is the best part for sure.

      Same with me. If i have connection in the dance everything happens more natural, without it so much extra work i have to do to make the dance ok 🙈

    Exactly. I don’t but was worried that looking into someone’s eyes ( not staring) was the right thing to do. 😀

    Great tips! When I find a connection the dance becomes almost meditative for me. It's one of the reasons why I really enjoy partner dancing: fully entering the present moment.

    Thank you for posting - so true! Essential between-the-lines stuff for a positive dance experience. And no, it's not too much to ask for some genuine human connection, for the duration of one song only! 😊 If it's too scary, you are free to escape immediately afterwards 😅

      Dance with Rasa do as I normally do and connect with your partner and not look away as if your bored.

    Great tips something I'm working on with my partner!
    I noticed myself I do listen to follower naturally finding playful middle ground! Easier to do with experience dancer and of course on both sides.
    I've always been truthful natural light leader , in the beginning I took ballroom lol,🇮🇪🇨🇦

    Thank you Rasa. What are your thoughts on when some leaders in salsa lead with holding wrists and tend to do so through majority of the dance. Do they improve their control this way and does this indicate flaws in my following? It doesn't really feel nice, kind of restricting really. (I am at improvers level)

    • @DanceWithRasa
      @DanceWithRasa  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leading with the wrist is common especially in bachata but also salsa. It def should not be done threw majority of the dance! If this happens to you with most guys maybe the connection in your fingertips is too weak, but if it happens only with few guys, then there might be smth up with them 😅
