    That was fun to watch. That buck looked right up at you. He wanted to be TH-cam famous! LOL. Tough luck that he was on the wrong side of the tree. Better luck next time. Have a great day.

    Awesome deer on public and to get it so close was great.
    Been in your shoes before. It happens especially trying to self film.

    Man that's a tough one. When the tree you pick is so good that it's too good.... Sorry you didn't get a shot. I love hunting PA mountains no matter what. Shot or not, you're right. It's a blessing to be able to get out and do what we do.

    What a great encounter. I had a similar issue when the buck at 10 yards decided to change direction and go to the weak side. Just like you said I am just appreciative to be out there and having the encounters, yes a harvest would be great however that's just the icing and challenge to fooling a mature buck. Keep enjoying and SHARING your PASSION!

    I call it a gratitude list and I work on it all the time. The good thing is you've already realized how good your life is at an early age and life gets better every day once that light bulb comes on., So glad you shared the hunt then combined it with the most important lesson anyone/ everyone needs to learn. In my 50 plus years of hunting I know what you where feeling for days after that missed opportunity. Many others know it too. Avoid what makes us upset or gets under our skin, focus on the positive, funny, and mostly work to be grateful every minute, THEN spread it. Thank you brother! Keep 'em coming.

    Man thats a heart brake right there.. I'll be honest with you, that's a big reason I switched to a stand. The only week side visually and shooting is directly behind you. I set up where I plan the deer to come so it's either straight in front or to my right or left. I've heard the argument that it's better to hide behind the tree with a saddle but I've been picked up from the saddle and have seen others as well. To me, higher is better than hiding behind the tree imo. I don't know if you use an aider but maybe get a Nader to use to climb and it will give you an extra 18-20" for each step.... I know the frustration for sure.. this past week I had my target buck within 120yds and he just decided to leave and go the other way. I was pretty down since it's the first time in daylight I've seen him. But last night I had to have an attitude adjustment myself and started thanking God for what you said, even the ability to do this fun activity is reason enough... but it sure would be the cherry on top to get a beast like what you nearly got. Looking forward to the next video. Although a week is a long time to wait. I think you should post Sunday and Wednesday hunts for your fans! 😂 Great stuff!!

  • @Windwalker_Outdoors
    @Windwalker_Outdoors 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yeah, that would make you sick. When I have things like that happen, I count my blessings, but I also look at it from the animals point of view. The animal won a bigger prize, they escaped with their life, free to live another day. It always made me feel better seeing it that way. You had an awesome encounter and the deer was able to go about his day. Until you meet again!

    Its amazing how those big bucks use every piece of available cover to walk behind in the direction they are travelling. That is a tough one, but still a great hunt and perfect spot location. Just curious.... how high up were you in your tree? Best of luck

  • @deerhunter3014

    I will never understand archers who have bright colors on their bows, under the tree canopy too. No, the deer don't see colors as we do but the contrast between light & dark are easily spotted, especially when in motion, as you were when repositioning for a shot.
    That buck would have been a nice one for sure. Thanks for sharing your hunt.

    Damn so close, deer seem do opposite of what we would think they will do. But hey not bad for first time on public land. And yes we tend to cop an attitude when things don't work out but as you say attitude adjustments do help. Can't wait till the next video, Dave you and your family have a great thanksgiving be safe and as always HTTM. QUESTION what is your truck ?

    Everyone is on the saddle fad, but they severely restrict you. Stay with treestands!! A little bit more weight but worth the weight in gold. Ditch the saddle and get a Lone Wolf hang on.
