Welcome back, good sir, I thought you had packed up your VCS and rode off into the sunset, lol. I haven't picked the 2600 plus up yet, I'm sorta still on the fence about it. I still have an Intellivision Amico pre-ordered, but between you and I don't expect to ever see it 😂Thanks for making another great video
LOL, that's funny!!! I think it's worth it now that I've played with it and the firmware is getting updated for more compatibility, but only if you like getting and storing cartridge games. Amico! LMFAO... me to, I am still leaving my per-order active in case it ever ships. At this point I don't even care to play, the whole history and story has been the funniest ride of gaming history and should be remembered. I also have the set of "physical games" cool collectibles (a bit pricy since I can never play them, or maybe one day) 🕹
Hells yeah it's tough, really tough (Nintendo Hard... what about Atari Hard! LOL) Thanks, they have them over on Amazon if you want to grab one, being orange really made me have to grab it 🕹
Love this, I expeit the firmware upgrade tool will be updated with the 7800 release. That's what happened when THE VIC-20 was released after the C64 Maxi.
I thought about picking up one of these, but I have a fully functional 7800. Of course, a 2600+ would allow me to play my games on my main 4K television, but honestly I like playing these old games they way they were meant to be enjoyed... On an old, crappy CRT. A giant 4K TV makes the graphics look kind of gross.
@@provisionalhypothesis You hit my point right at the very end. The 7800 games with more detailed sprites look worse when they are on a much bigger screen and without the slight blur of CRTs that helped round off the rough edges. For 2600 games, I don't really have an issue since they are going to be super blocky either way.
For sure, if your original stuff works then I see no need... but it is nice these exist now for others to enjoy, experience and if yours or anybody else original consoles break. I can't wait to try the 7800 controller and see what other games we get now that this is out and appears to be selling decently 😎🕹
LOL.... No 😎 I Bought mine from Atari, they have bee pretty good getting the stuff out to us before other retailers, lately. R U waiting for a pre-Order to arrive? O r just did not pick up yet? IU can tell you if you don't mind having carts, this is worth the price for sure. Plus if we get more updates... the sky isn't even the limit for this little guy 🕹🎮
@@ILoveStuffandSoDoYou I didn't order one yet. I would like to, but am a little on the fence. If they release more new 2600 games like Mr. Run and Jump, that might tip me over the edge and make me make the purchase. Great coverage as always!
this is some of the JANKIEST firmware updating i have ever seen and i am most disappointed. It will QUICKLY tell me "one maskrom device found" then VERY quickly tell me NO DEVICES found. You'd think for $130 Atari would come up with a better way than this crap. Im tempted to chuck my 2600+ out the window. to hell with this garbage.
I'm as thrilled with the 2600+ as the day I got back in December! Just Fantastic! Berzerk Enhanced and Mr Run and Jump as well !!!!

Looooooving the episode, Podan! 🕹️👾❤️👍
OOOOH YEEESS!
I love the 2600 plus. Wish every company would do this with their legacy systems
Hopefully others follow suit, since the 2600+ seems to be doing well.

Cool. Circus Convoy works on 2600+ out of the box?
You need the firmware update, I show in the previous video how to update, not hard at all

@@ILoveStuffandSoDoYou That's what I was afraid of . lol. I'm a Mac user and don't have immediate access to a PC.

Awesome video! Would you mind sending me your 2600+ and just buying another one for yourself?
LOL.... No 😎
