I never understood why Nats fans were so upset with Harper. Wasn’t it their organization that trying to rip him off? If anything, they should be upset with the Nationals. Also, if his “fans” hated him because he left, were they really ever his fan? Phillies fans support former players. Anyone remember when Cole Hammels came back to Philly in 2019. He got a standing ovation. Same thing this weekend against the Rays when they played Eflin.

I firmly believe last years failures were failures in coaching and management. The team has the talent. Hopefully with Girardi the talent will finally pay off.
Projections has them at 75 wins , I don't know how that is possible with Girardi in & Kapler out. New pitching & hitting coach. I think this is a 90+ win team , possibly if everything goes right with the pitching staff, I think 95 and that gets them the east.
So aggravating watching that opening with Klentak and Middleton talking. Yes the Phillies needed to make moves after 2017, as well as after 2019. So do they get pitching help? One starting pitcher, bullpen help? No. We trade for the best catcher in baseball and play games with him instead of signing him long term, even after signing the most overrated player in history to 13 years. (NO ONE ELSE OFFERED MORE THAN 5) There’s a reason Dodger fans chanted overrated in our stadium followed by Tiger fans in Detroit. How many times did Harper get thrown out on base? Close to leading the league. That is dumb hustling. How many of his home runs actually meant something? Very very few. Harper was 7th in homeruns- IN THE DIVISION. Superstar? Hardly. Phillie fans booed Dick Allen our of town, we booed the greatest third baseman of all time. We enjoyed the intelligent and superb play of Rollins and Utley, now, the last game of 2019 Phillie fans gave a standing O to a guy that gets thrown out on base more than anyone and is all hype. Harper has one super season, the rest of his career he has been mediocre to good. Waste of team money. This team has no leader, still no bullpen, and no fire. Ricky Bo said it just a few nights ago. You are other teams and they have fire, the Phillies have had no fire for years. Middleton needs to stop meddling in baseball part and Klentak needs to go because neither of them know how to build a winner. 2019 was not a good team and 2020 is not a good team. As a Phillie fan I am so frustrated with a management team that has no clue how to build a winning atmosphere
