Shannon, can you colorize the black inlays with watercolors or distress crayons?

I would be careful with the paint inlays because you can smear the paint until they are sealed. They reactivate after getting wet again. Though I have seen one of the sister's actually take an artist brush, get it wet and smear the paint inlay a bit for a really cool look

Trident this with Mod Podge and the paper stayed glued to the piece. I’m so confused why that didn’t happen to you.

You probably left on too long. I tried Dixie Belle flat clear coat and it worked really well.
