I am an American Indian and my ancestry is mixed race. I am proud of all that from which I descend. My paternal great grandfather is descendant of the Recife Jews, the sons of the land of Sefarad, who came from Portugal & Portuguese controlled Sardinia and Corsica, through the Netherlands, to Brazil, and eventually to the United States.

The very first Jews to set foot in the Americas, are the reverted Sefaradim , the Judeo Portuguese Marranos of Pernambuco, Brazil, who built a synagogue as far back as the early 1600s. Over the generations they were assaulted by the Roman Catholic regime in Portuguese Brazil and fled to New York.
