I've removed many a "stuck" flywheel by simply tightening, then allowing it to sit under tension overnight. Next morning, it had popped during the night. Patience is preferable to taking the chance of frying/breaking something...

You never have the right tool because you don't put them back in their place. Sloppiest work area I've ever seen.

UPDATE - The puller shattered and shot a piece of it through his skull.
You should be ready to pull the flywheel. Don't heat the flywheel then walk away from it.
Exactly what I was yelling at the screen. "have your tools sitting beside you ready to use, not on the other side of the shop!!"

I had the same problem, that's why I was watching. I ended up grinding and pounding mine off ,and replacing it.
