Trip Dip!!
The upgrades are ridiculously priced.
I have a 2015 Robalo r200 and wanted to get the forward seating seat backs. Robalo wants over a thousand dollars for the seat backs. Just crazy
Really like the fact that you called out which options make sense, it can get crazy with some of the choices you have that don't really make a huge impact
Thanks for watching! Very much agree with you. We really love this boat. For more specs and details please our Robalo Page: visit: boattest.com/boats/robalo
The real question here is, why the massive decrease in fuel economy?
When Boat Test ran this boat in 2020, with the same Yamaha VMax 250, it ran 32mph @ 3500rpm and achieved 3.0mpg. Now it's running 26.8mph and only getting 1.4mpg? That's a 16% reduction in cruising speed, and more than a 50% reduction in fuel economy.... Something isn't right here.
I was surprised at the MPG and fuel burn too. I'd love to know why the change.
Trip Dip!!!
Seems like the heavier boats ride better in chop and rougher waters. Does anyone know if Robalo is all foam/fiberglass construction? I.E. no wood?
Trip Dip off of the T top!
error in cruise MPG, it's more 2.4 than 1.4. other thing, in my opinion , testing those boats in flat conditions isn't what we want to know, they are made for rough stuff.
Tha ks for the comment Capt. I just double checked the numbers as I have been known to make a mistake. They appear to be correct. At 3500 rpm we were burning 18.6 mpg average (average of two opposing directions of running) at 28.6 mph. Giving us 1.44 mpg.
I agree with you on the conditions, I want them nasty as well. For fuel testing though it should be flat water in my opinion.
With these tests, we aren't in control of the weather or even the area we test in. A rough weather window is very tough to plan when we have to test/shoot boats on certain days in certain locations when they are available.
Sometimes we get lucky like with the Aquila 47 Molokai I tested recently with some good wave action to run in, sometimes we don't. To bad we missed the shot when I got her airborne at nearly 60mph!
Any idea why the performance was so much worse than boat test last review in 2020? Same hull (different aft) and same engine (last gen) but noticeable results. Last review was top end 6000 rpm, 52 mph at 2.2mpg. In the video you said 5800 at 46mph at 1.4mpg. Has the 2024 changed that much for the worse or was something up the day you tested? Or did previous test not get it right?
My 2023 R230 with the yamah 250 non-sho is getting around 2.8mpg at 28mph cruise and 2-2.3 at 40-45mph.
Terrible yamaha fuel efficiency for a boa that size to get 1.44 MPG sucks
I’m sorry but brown is such a awful color for a boat cushion.
We think it's very sporty and handsome, but to each their own - Robalo has lots of custom options for color cushions. Check out build your boat: robalo.com/Robalo-Boat-X.php?id=790&action=tab_boat_builder
