I get what you're saying, Switch form factor and all, but the battles slowed the PS4 down to a chug at the mid point of the game. Unless they downgrade the particle effects, the Switch is the worst system for the game.
What makes the game so good? I bought it in sale while ago and quit after 3/4 hours. The story seemed confusing and the mech gameplay felt barebones and too simple. Does it get better later on?
@@CPhelps1247 No comment on the mech gameplay but the story gets better and better the more you play and uncover. If the tower defense gameplay isn’t doing anything for you then that’s too bad cause it’s necessary to finish the story.
@@CPhelps1247 I suppose its simple but I appreciate how unique it is at the same time. I know ppl wanted to see actual mech vs kaiju fights but its uniqueness makes sense to the story too. On the bright side, the battle music is pretty good.

You know, if getting this to the Switch works well enough, we could potentially have more Vanillaware games on this platform. That's something to think about.
Finally, I hope it does so well that we get to see more Vanillaware ports for Switch and PC, the further away you guys are from censorstation the better.
Vanillaware won't get more money/support from Sony. Atsushi Morita and SCEJ are gone. Morita went to Kadokawa after Jim Ryan retired him from PlayStation and said due to old age in 2019. And now Morita is global director of SNK Corporation. Jim lying Ryan keeps fooling everyone with lies. Old PlayStation would lock down these small games from other platforms and new PlayStation would ignore them. They got full of themselves with 1st party as they are oddly confident to give it PlayStation Studios brand. Western 1st party games dominated PlayStation Awards in Tokyo during PS4 gen and Japan Studio suffered the entire gen except Bloodborne collab with From Software. The only Japanese game from PlayStation that won gold award (sold over 500k in Japan/Asia). But Western 1st party games received platinum award (over 1 million copies in Japan/Asia). When you got a old game like TLOU Remastered which sold over 1 million copies in Japan/Asia you start to scratch your head what is wrong with your own Japanese development. Not enough people in Japan/Asia bought internal Japan Studio games, they rather bought Western 1st party games. Clap Hanz missed out on gold award with New Minna no Golf. That sent signals to PlayStation division their Japanese development except Team Asobi should get the axe. Start over? Who knows what is going on behind the scenes because they keep being radio silent.
All Vanillaware games deserve to be re-released on Steam and Switch. Particularly Muramasa Rebirth with all the DLC and an upgraded and translated version of Princess Crown. Please Sega-Atlus.
Great! Now Western Release aaaand Steam port too please but this is already amazing. Finally Vanillaware expands outside of the Playstation-Realm! Edit: Nice, western release confirmed, that was fast. Now a steam port too but I am already pretty happy with the Switch release :D
@@royalkumar795 Yeah you can't rely on them at all. I am glad more and more japanese developers realize this and open up to other platforms (also making sure to minimize the risks of stuff like censoreship).

タイムリープ、ループ、クローン等のSFでの王道が詰め込まれすぎてるのにちゃんとまとまっていて驚いた記憶がある
これ進める程にストーリーが気になっていく傑作名作
ストーリー気になりすぎて寝不足になりながらやった神ゲー
13人がそれぞれ戦場に出撃して集まっていくシーンは激アツで鳥肌立つ
この曲すげえ格好いいな

@@CPhelps1247 Its 80% Visual Novel and 20% Tower Defense. Game is very story focused, and gameplay is just bonus.

I hope this is the start of seeing Vanillaware on more platforms. One of my favourite studios, they deserve way more attention than they get.
