I love your show. Please keep your self honest don't become like them.I appreciate your concerns about the prisons. These people don't care, they have no heart , destroyed many families & lifes. (kill, steal & destroy & lie) they could be locked up. GET YOUR DAMN FOOT OFF OUR NECK, THEN WE CAN SHOW YOU WHAT WE CAN DO. IT'S A SET UP.

Valuetainment - There is a You Tube channel called, Wrong To Strong, I feel you or one of your staff should check it out. It is run by an individual named, JC, who has been in and out of prison for the majority of his life and through his association or better said, with his membership with the cartels and gangs. He is now 43 and feels if he can change one young life and turn them away from the life of drugs and gangs, everything in his life would be worth it.
I am mentioning JC and his channel because he has a great deal of knowledge with what is wrong with our prison and jail systems and the recidivism rate. He lived it. Yes, he broke the law and he has paid his debt to society. He mans up to it. However, I do believe one could garner a great deal of knowledge from this man and be better for it if they are honest about seeing a lot of change in our prisons and jails.
Another great voice would be the lady who had been granted clemency/pardon from our President a few years ago. Her name is Alice or Alicia. I’m sure it would be easy enough to find. She is a beautiful lady who did a great deal of work while she was in prison to help the young gang bangers change their paths in life.
There are a lot of great people out here trying to make changes in the prisons and jails. Sadly, their voices are not being heard. I think one of the problems is not being able to find each other and to work with one another so their voices can be combined to be heard. There are a good number of talk a good game, but when it comes to actually doing anything about it, they stop. I know of more than one channel where I have provided them information so they can get on the path of making changes and have been ignored time and again. It is far easier for them to just make noise than to actually put any work in.
I think JC is different though. He wears his heart on his sleeve and has worked hard to help others. He’s had a rough life, and been given a crap hand, that’s for sure, so it would be really nice to see him connect with those who want to work for change when it comes to our laws and incarcerations. He’s one of the good guys and it would be great to see him get some recognition as well even though he’s never asked for it. You know how there is someone you just want to see good things happen for them because they’re one of the good ones? This to me is JC. This man is not afraid of hard work, take a listen and you will see.
      Thank you for your time,
      Ma’iingankwe

If you receive a tax credit for each person hired with a criminal background, help that individual gain their self worth back, offer an opportunity to become a loyal employee and productive citizen it's a win-win. Unfortunately, many won't provide an opportunity for those individuals who made wrong choices and without a job how do we expect them to survive and be productive citizens. This then leads to repeat offenders.
Thank you for being open minded and having the courage to hire former prisoners.

When networks blame millennials for cord cutting they always neglect to mention how shitty their own program choices are. They simply don't have interviews that are interesting anymore because of restrictions on broadcasting whereas on the web you get engaging personalities discussing very interesting topics. Network TV appearances may bring people more coverage and recognition but the content is unfailingly better on the web. Between this channel and JRE there is nothing that talk shows can cover that beats them.

i am questioning his statement that he was in his office shaving and the guy who knocked on his door said the plane hit the tower. he then says he looked out of his window and saw the damage to the building. claimed his office was a 1/4 mile away. that is 1320 ft.! how in the HELL did he not hear that happening? i can hear planes taking off from our airport and it is 3/4 of a mile away plus they are not 747s flying low crashing into a building. very fishy.

      L Barnes
It is perfectly plausible. My friend lived in a condo facing the river two blocks away from the WTC. She didn't hear or feel the jets hit the towers. No smoke blew her way to see out her window. She only learned of it when, leaving for work, she was told by people gathering in the lobby trying to decide what route to take to get away. They also hadn't felt it but knew because they had happened to have their TVs on when the news came through.

I really liked this video. I gained alot of respect for Benard whom I have never heard of to begin with but his understanding that a felony of any type carries a life sentence. This is true in most cases. I have spent over 19 years of my adult life beginning at age 30 incarcerated. My first felony was for driving on suspended lic. Habitual viol. It then went to drug convictions for the rest of my 62 years now and I'm still on parole for a 15yr. Sentence I received in 2002. Yes that's correct, 18 yrs. Ago. In Georgia they will just never let you go. So I just wanted to say how much I appreciated Bernard's understanding of the situation although i know it took him going to prison for him to get to that point.
Theres just no way to explain to anyone the real effects of prison. Its like trying to tell someone what its like to go to war. There's no way to fully exsplain it.
I love your show as i just recently came upon it but its great .
    Thanks.

When I hear the whole story of this man's life, all the things he's done for our country, the city of NY, and for humanity overall; how he improved, and continues to push to improve the prison system, I have nothing but respect for him. And as far as his own mistakes and time spent, I just see as an unfortunate misstep, (we're all human), it doesn't phase my overall appreciation for him. It is sad that he lost a fortune fighting against some of the charges he felt were false, and or curated out of overzealous targeting, due to political agendas. Then having to finally give up, for fear of losing everything. Hopefully he makes it all back X10 with his books, and or a future movie deal, (a modern day Brubaker). One positive aspect to his incarceration, is that it surely gave him an even better perspective, as an advocate for prisoners, of the broken process and the environment, which is horrific. The prison system in America, is an atrociously inhumane and sickeningly criminal entity unto itself. Thank you for another deep gritty interview, bringing light to a dark topic, where it is greatly needed! 🕊💓🌎⚖️☮️

So the NYPD commissioner was in Israel 2 weeks before the 9/11 attacks discussing "counter-terrorism". Interesting.

That line, I can't breathe is becoming a line we all use now. That's a messed up! The history lesson we have to learn now is like coming straight from Hell! I love God and I am going to heaven and while I'm still here I will stand strong for what's right in God's eyes so my children and everyone else's can live a happy and safe life so when I die I can rest in peace with God! I know where my loyalties lie and I stand strong with God for our children! I stand strong with President Trump !

Putting people in prison for regulatory crime is insane and a waste of tax dollars. Yes pay a fine, do community service, have a record, but housing a non- violent offender in prison does no one any good. Society doesn’t benefit snd offenders are not rehabilitated. And guess what, they all get out. Like Kerik said, are they hardened and ready to commit more crime? This system needs to be overhauled.

Wow. What a life this man has had. What strength of character shaped by his experiences. I take my hat off to him. He was dealt a bad hand but at the same time I think he completed three if his lifetimes in the one. The penal system seems to be lacking the rehabilitation side of things. It's, set up to keep the cogs turning. It keeps a lot of people employed from police officers to corrective services officers and all in between.. it helps create the illusion that the Public is safe and the criminals are behind bars. What the public fail to realise is that one bad strike of luck and it could be them spending time and labelled a criminal. Not all people in jail are bad people in the true sense of the word. And there is an incredible amount of talented people in there Money will always talk. Better than any legal aid officer unfortunately, and corruption will be the hardest thing to change. The ability to get out of jail with sum self esteem and the ability to be able to get a life of some sort is paramount to success of some sort for the individual. The laws have to be reviewed and changed . Emphasis on rehabilitating and teaching new/ different skills or working on and utilising their existing skills to better themselves and other inmates . But to get out to no job and be labelled...these people don't stand a chance and will therefore be likely to reoffend. And so much easier for these people to be picked on by the authorities. People need opportunities to be able to help themselves. Perhaps a look at the penal systems in northern Europe might be worth a look at. But along with all of this the public also need to change and be a little more tolerant of things. Laws have to change and be uniform throughout a country...Jail for a little marijuana???? PLEASE !

At 1:09:00 I'm sorry you don't get "requested" by the King of Saudi Arabia for work or "requested" by George Bush to lead Homeland Security or getting a $250,000 0% interest loan from Israeli Business men without "breaking the rules" or being above the law.
