This is the best trem. Once you turn it on you never want to turn it off. Makes everything sound better, juicier, thicker, more expressive. Such a great pedal.
Supro ain't giving any gear away, so it's bound to be pricy. But tremolo is the greatest sound of all. It can make a recording of squealing pigs sound like angels descending from on high. Oh yeah. I'm HEARING it...the great sound this box makes, not the squealing pigs.
Ive bought 2 pedals in the last month because of your videos, I remember having to test guitar pedals at guitar Center just to try em out, and that’s if they had em, now I just check out your channel.
Hey Ryan, that socketed IC is just a microcontroller, the saturation and drive will be coming from that transformer and transistors in the circuit. I assume the transformer is mostly there to simulate saturation and sag and how the power section of a Supro amp with onboard trem would react
Great choice of axe, that nice red jaguar! Inside that box, next to the chip (ic) there is also a set of pins that can be connected using “ jumpers” so possibly it has more settings thru that too..
I’ve seen people modify the board so you can bypass the trem and just use it as a drive with a foot switch, then go back to trem whenever you want. I wish Supro had added that when they refreshed the case for version 2!
Damnit, I don't need another tremolo pedal (said no one ever, haha); but this one is doing the things I like to hear, and with that concise precision. Need I say it? This one's going on the list!
Hey, so during the live I said I just got a cheap Saphue tremolo that was way too quiet. After that I opened the pedal and start tweaking it. There is a pot there VR2 that if you turn clockwise it solves the problem. But be gentle. I broke mine and ended up bypassing the pot. Turned out great, now it's a fine little tremolo for under 20 dolars.
I had the original version of this pedal, the Supro 1310 Tremolo. I greatly prefer the previous aesthetic. If it's the same circuit it's a great pedal. The transformer warms everything up, even with the gain set at zero and the harmonic trem is the closest thing you'll find to a true tube driven trem in an amp. My only grievances were the lack of stereo and that the noise floor was higher than i'd prefer.
It’s designed to sound like a Supro amp as well as being a tremolo. Half the time when I use mine I turn the depth and speed all the way down and just use it as a thickener and sweetener.
I do like the ability to switch from a standard trem to the harmonic trem. The gain seems a little unique to me.... not sure that I would do much with it, but it isn't terrible to have that as another option.
hey man, I just love your Princeton jingle. :) How about making a video about the new Morgan suite from neural DSP, it has an amp called PR, based on a Princeton amp. Could be fun :D
Oh Gosh...😮 Another Tremolo i need to buy. 3 months ago i got their "old" tremolo. But who cares, so i have 17 trems instead of 16. Btw. the old Supro trem also does a distinct coloration and grit to your tone.
Like it a lot as trem tones go. My only disappointment was that other trem sine wave patterns were not included here. That has become pretty much standard these days on several tremelo pedals. This lets the pedal down somewhat for me Ryan. Going back over the decades, there have been several styles of tremelo produced in amps, and it would have great to have seen these on this pedal. So great sound, but lacking features here for the price tag i think. Keep up the great videos Ryan. Cheers, Greg (Surf nut)Australia. By the way - i have given you the nick name of Surfy Bear! (the golden haired Surfy Bear)
Just turn the GAIN _down_ for unity gain. It's not robbing headroom or anything. The gain structure and it's interactivity with the Supro Tremolo is very much the Supro tremolo amp sound. Being able to add it and remove it makes this pedal ideal. All of my first amps back in the late 70's were pick responsive single ended combo amps. I should have kept them instead of trading them off for bigger amps.
I have to address the elephant in the room. Rumble, by Link Wray is not a surf song. Am i the only person that knows that song in the entire comments? Kind of amuses me. Thanks Ryan, this is a great demo. Sorry if i sound like a prick. 😂
i have a question, not a hypothetical, something im actually considering, what would the reson be, not to route the three strat Pup cavities into one big square route so any type and configureation of pickup could be installed on a different guard, and assuming you has something like the GSF plug system you could swap them out in less that 2 minutes since you'd not have to even solder the jack when you swap, if your using the whole plug and play solder free system (it soulds like im plugging them put i have no affiliation with them or any company its just stuff cheap enough i can afford now and then as opposed to the gear id actually want if i had the cash to afford it) but i cant get any answers on this, and Ryan, you have always been cool about answering inquiries the few times i had one, so u seemed like the best bet to actually take the time to read and reply, thats for all the cool cotent, hope your still on here in 100 years, even if were cyborgs then , Ill still watch!
For $200 it better wash the car and do the dishes! It would have been better if it had two footswitches... one for the gain and one for the depth.. or even perhaps a way to use a couple pedals with it....?

6:02 nice tribute to early Status Quo! Thanks for that.
Came here to say the same - hearing that put a smile on my face!
Love this guy's taste in guitars.
I love when a tremolo envelopes you and draws you into its time and rhythm, especially at slower speeds. Fun stuff !
Hey Ryan, that socketed IC is just a microcontroller, the saturation and drive will be coming from that transformer and transistors in the circuit. I assume the transformer is mostly there to simulate saturation and sag and how the power section of a Supro amp with onboard trem would react
I like the ability to use the expression pedal. Cool demo with the Bass VI. Cool pedal! Cool demo!
Another banger of a video, thank you Mr. Cycle Hum ❤

Want one in Sherwood Green so bad.

Pictures of matchstick men insert was cool nice pedal well done man
I really like it. I’ve been using a modified boss tr2 for years (added volume pot). This seems to have a real amp trem character going on.
My favorite tremolo glad they redesigned the knobs was impossible to see the old ones
That is a lush tremolo! The waveform feels really smooth. The socketd IC says ATMEL on it, so perhaps a microcontroller.
Ordered a used one on Reverb a couple of days ago... this vid has me freaking pumped!
Luv ya work Ryan. Cool pedal and playing

I have one and love it. I use it as an always on clean boost (and mostly an always on tremolo because tremolo is the shizzle).
That first loop was wicked.

What’s the difference between this one and the same Supro trem pedal that came out years ago?
Something about a pedal that just looks cool 🔥
Is this the same as the Supra SP1310 tremolo? Got the same knobs & switches..
Damn, that pedal is THICC... In both size and tone.
It’s designed to sound like a Supro amp as well as being a tremolo. Half the time when I use mine I turn the depth and speed all the way down and just use it as a thickener and sweetener.
Ugh oh....Somebody has been working on his triads!!! Good job man. Playing is getting better.

Nice Playing. Cheers!

If only Supro would exclude the pre-amp gain FOREVER! I just want the tremolo!

Noticed it is made in China, I dunno $219 seems expensive for a Chinese tremolo.
This damn review is so good I have to buy one. DOH
If only this had a stereo version "ahem."

That’s called a swimming pool route. Some guitars have it.
I believe you can adjust the expression range on the Moog itself. Have tried that to see if you were able to increase the range envelope?
yeah i had it maxed out
Nice Jag
Does it have exactly the same circuit as the Supro 1310? In the review videos this new version sounds better I think.
Curious to see how close to a univibe with the external pedal. I know not chorus effect but I like that warble. Hendrix?
Really, harmonic trem is a very good substitute for Uni-Vibe, I imagine you'd be "close enough" in a mix
it’s pretty darn similar; use it like that frequently
thumb up for camper van riff.
Your playing guitar style makes me want to travel to the west and eat pasta.
is it different than the old one, 1310?
Who drops the box from the sky 🤔
Ok, so this Supro or the Bennet Custom Audio Lighthouse?... dang what would Ryan do? @60cyclehum
That’s a tough call. They both do the gain saturated tremolo thing. It comes down to preference of features and footprint.
Best Trem but the old design was cooler
Hey Ryan have you
Are you still with us?
I don’t think he, no.
I honestly think I like this better than the SurfyTrem
I’d like ryan to test out against it. Maybe that’s coming.
Matchstick men
How do you like the blonde Princeton?
Saw it was 219 USD on Sweetwater so didn’t watch your video 😂😂😂
For $200 it better wash the car and do the dishes! It would have been better if it had two footswitches... one for the gain and one for the depth.. or even perhaps a way to use a couple pedals with it....?
Make short videos FFS. Thirty minutes for a friggin’ tremolo pedal?
no
