    I'm being treated using a 3-drop regimen: Ketorolac- 0.5%; Prednisolone AC- 1%; and Dorzolamide- Timolol. In August 2023, I was stage 1.5-2 and placed on 2 drops until Dec. 2023 [ not the Dora...]. In mid Dec. 2023, I was placed on all three drops. Last month, two points have closed, a thurd point is closing, but there is still a hole at one point. I wonder how long to wait before pursuing the vitrectomy?

    What IOL would you recommend is best for people who have had macular hole repairs? Panopix? Symfony? or Monofocal? That is a question I have not seen addressed, thank you!

      Depends on multiple factors. Very difficult to generalize.

    I have just been diagnosed with a small macular hole....l physically I’m not able to manage keeping my head down or sleeping face down because I have had a history of a fractured back with some scoliosis… As well as asthma and I position compromises my breathing. He wants to do surgery as well as remove the cataract which I was been told recently by an optometrist I had no cataracts… I don’t know what to do… I am willing to pay for a 2nd opinion...lHELP ME PLEASE

      Hi. Best course is to show a Retinal Specialist.

      I hope it worked out for you, Holly. I need surgery for a macular hole, but have other issues they are working on first. The idea of the facedown recovery freaked me out too, until I found a few companies where I can rent a set of equipment to help make that a lot easier. With the three pieces of equipment, I will be able to vary my position. About the cataract, my surgeon advised me that people who have this surgery always get cataracts. It could take a week or a year. Therefore, in order to spare me having two surgeries, he will just do cataract surgery while he is in there. Hope this gives you a bit to think about. If the macular hole is not repaired, I will go blind in the eye, so it’s worth going through it.

    Sir,if there is macular hole and retinal detachment and edema as well and blind spot activation(i think so),is it curable?

      If Macular Hole + RD is present, first priority will be to manage RD, as it is more visually disturbing & has poor prognosis if untreated. Macular Hole, if early stage, doesn't require treatment. However, overall prognosis will remain poor.

      @@RRDeshpande I’m doing well. My optometrist told me to come in every 3 months rather than once a year. I just found out about it this month. After doing some research I saw that we tend to see a bend in lines, but I don’t have vision like that. Mine are both at the bottom of my eyes though. He told me that-that’s the best place to have them.

    Does surgery I have to be necessary or is there another way to fix this?

    • @rangelcarlos53
      @rangelcarlos53 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laser, they’ll point the laser to the hole which it’ll scar the hole. The scar will close the hole.

    • @callm6748
      @callm6748 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rangelcarlos53 oh, because I keep hearing that it's a gas bubble they put in the hole. But the laser doesn't seem as scary.

    So many inaccuracies!
    Example @ 8.25...fovea is predominantly made of cones (NOT RODS)..
    Don't make such silly mistakes bro
