Psyched you’re back! My best trout so far just so happens to be the first trout I’ve ever caught on a sub-surface fly. A 14” brookie! Thanks to you for your videos showing your technique.
Glad to see you back. Beautiful looking water. Not much luck in moving water. Stillwater fishing has been outstanding this season. Never thought bobber fishing (oops indicator fishing) could be so productive and fun. Squirmy worms and jig style wooly buggers tough to beat. No big fish to brag about .... YET!
Good job Dan ! Nice to see you exploring, never know what awaits when searching for new runs ! My biggest trout was a 21 inch bow , gave me a hell of a fight ! Tight lines my friend 👍
Great video! Keep on Keepin' on! largest trout was a 21" rainbow when I was young with a hook and a worm! Largest on a fly was a 9" brown,. Hope things work out! Let's Go! Mountaineers!
Dan - Just want to say welcome back, good to see you again. Had 2 PB’s this Summer with a 14” Brookie & 19” bow from the Swift R tribs. Looking forward to your future videos.
My wife and I stayed at an Orvis week at Hubbards Ranch on the Yellowstone River. For a flyfisher it was out of this world. Hope you can get out west some day. Keep up the good work. Your nature shots at the beginning of the video is first rate.
Another great video ! Has alittle bit of everything. Love how you kept your cool and were able to smartly get your keys through that tiny crack. Talk about pressure. Then you brought us to a beautiful looking spot hoping for a big ole brown. That second one that was camera shy was a toad. Then you took us on an adventure. Awesome bushwack ! Glad you stayed with it and finally located some true native brookies. Loved the parr marks still on it. Nothing ventured , nothing gained. Great pereserverance yet again. Oh, and you saw my largest local stream brownie. It taped out at 25” out of Washington County. That thing 😊was a gator! I’ve caught bigger browns but they were L.Ontario tribs. which shouldn’t count. Btw, so glad to see you picking up where you left off. Looking forward to more and more!
Hey Dan, glad to see you out again! Happy to have contributed, love the content. You may not have even needed to lock the car, that manual transmission is it’s own anti theft device 😅. Biggest trout I think was about 15-16 rainbow.
18" rainbow. Nice to see some dry dry/dropper action again. Ive gotten pretty big into blue lining for catskill brookies over the last couple of years, then hit the main stems on the way home for evening hatch
Love to see the areas you fish since I grew up on the east coast. Biggest trout I've caught was about an 18 inch brown on the Green River in Utah. Cheers.
21" brown from the ole hometown creek! Good to see you slinging the streamers around and carrying on after the recent struggle. Would love to know where that big pool is located!!! Keep up the good work. 👍
Hi Dan...enjoyed your video. Biggest trout I ever caught was an 18" rainbow in the dark in a Willowemoc tributary. To this day, I believe that trout was sick, because he did not put up any kind of fight like rainbows usually do. He just swam towards me and surrendered.
When there's a sofa near a stream, it's usually a spinning fisherman and these guys stay on the spot till it's empty. Nice to see you back in shape NY video angler. Even one's in a wild, it's fun to follow you, but the day you bring your rocking chair you loose me for sure, Ha! If i win, sell them and keep the money. For Canada it's to complicated and expensive.
Biggest trout I’ve ever caught was a fatty of a brown at 23”. It was in a very narrow river bend tuck up under a rock ledge - surprised the hell outta me as initially I thought I was caught up on the bottom! Anyway, glad to see you back!
@@jacobhorner6503 hmmmm WBD is tough fishing for beginners! I would suggest LONG leader 13-15 feet minimum this time of year. And don’t get caught up with using 2 flies at once or anything complicated. Use a small pheasant tail nymph and just focus and presenting that 1 fly the best you can. I would also recommend making a drive in the fall when water temps cool to some stocked fish areas and sharpen skills on stocked trout
Glad that you are out of that funk you were in. I locked myself out of my car a few times over the years. What I do is have a spare key and its safety pin in one of the pockets of my fishing bag. Throw the key in your bag it's cheap insurance. My best Rainbow was on the San Juan R. NM 34 inches and a good 15 lbs.
22" Brown out of the N. Branch of the Saranac but the BEST fish was when I out my 9 yo son on his FIRST Brook Trout. A 12" out of a little stream in the Moose River Plains. (Western ADK for sure)
