I've noticed Dan's favorite games always seem to have wingsuits involved
Who doesn't want to be able to fly
They also have 3s in them; Far Cry 3, Just Cause 3, Crackdown 3. There's definitely a pattern going on

...no. This just used to be a thing that games had in them. Originally they were things for testing purposes that people uncovered, then it became intentional, etc.
The fact that games stopped doing it and started selling these sorta things as MTX is shitty business practices evolving over time. It doesnt make the feature inherently a mod

@@tigamaki1345 Crackdown 3 is better than 2 and 1 over this. 1 and 2 had this same mode, but it was in the purchasable Keys to the City DLC. 3's is just a built in mode rather than a DLC.

Forget not that Dan is really easily amused. Do you remember all of the glowing videos of the Just Cause sequels, which eventually released to a lukewarm reception.

@@Nereosis16 It was boring as fuck if you only do basic stuff. The game can get ridiculously fun if you can get creative with it, as with any open world game. But yes I can say that it ran like absolute ass on consoles, especially PS4. XB1 wasn't too bad though.

I'd like to think those large groups of civilians being spawned in were just people going about their lives then suddenly being teleported elsewhere, and that's why they're all dying of heart attacks
It's really interesting to see Dan, someone who've never played a Crackdown, having a blast playing the absolute bare bones while blissfully unknowing all the things missing from the original Crackdown.

I'm pretty sure he has played Crackdown, I seem to remember him playing and really liking the first one. It's just this one he's never played before.

Its incredible that Dan has a love for these open world momentum based jumpy glidy grind on a rail games and Dan has never played Sunset Overdrive.

Saints Row IV is still by far the best Crackdown game ever made, with Saints Row: Gat out of Hell coming in second place.
Feels like Saints Row meets Just Cause meets Breath of the Wild. Not complaining tbh, looks fun 👌

Yep, I think most the reasons people don't like Crackdown 3 is because it's not like the original enough. It's very close to how Crackdown 2 operated which people disliked for being different and it seems that dislike continued to this game.
Crackdown 2 is worth a go if you can ever get it free. The sort of zombie enemies spawning by the hundreds made the sandbox mode thing very fun to mess with.

Every single review said that same thing, which is why the game did so poorly and why its surprising *Dan likes it so much. Google it.
*Dan's allowed to like it, I'm not being critical of that, its just that other gamers like Jon and Jim Sterling, called it out for not being modern or original.

This game was delayed pretty hard and never really caught up. It basically _is_ a game from 2013.

@@quinnciqwothers1975 The problem is that, for the people who played 2 and 1 it's a step backwards in some areas and minor improvements in others. Combine this with the fact that 3 is what we got after nine years and there's a lot of salt around the game for people who've played since 1 or 2. Especially since it was supposed to be an Xbox One launch title but ended up only being released last year.

I was exited to see this when I saw the community post but it makes me sad to see dan love this game for everything it takes directly from crackdown 1. (other than the keys to the city menu that's much better than in the original) the cars map bosses and character where so much better in 1

This game got so much abuse for the false promises etc which is fair... But the game itself is so much fun, it's just crackdown, which is great.
Crack down 2 was definitely crème of the crop, I wish they had just remade that instead of making a 3rd, now the series is probably dead in the water.

I remember playing this right when it came out on gamepass, I thought it was pretty good but would be better if there was a sort of arena mode or mods.
Little did I know...
The problem with the game is that you can feel constantly that it could be so much more, and if you played the predecessors then you can tell it's not a large improvement over them. At the same time though, if you avoided the hype or even just played it as it's own thing, Crackdown 3 is and was an excellent timewaster.
This game is really enjoyable imo, I had quite a bit of fun with it. I'm not sure why everyone HATED it so much.
Because its incredibly empty, the graphics are kinda gross, and the previous titles are far more fleshed out despite being decades old.

This feels like a ps3 game with a facelift
The only reason why Dan likes this so much is because it's just a reskinned urban Just Cause accept you play as a Spartan or Terry Cruise.
But I think that's a brilliant formula to copy.

And this video is why I decided to give this game a try. And, yeah, it's majorly underrated. It's like the best aspects of Just Cause (Complete with a gravity tether) but you're playing as a genetically engineered super soldier/god

I still haven't forgotten when Dan said he was gonna play Crackdown 1 many years ago.
Can you still shoot out the tires of passing cars and watch them flip out in to a corkscrew through the air? Or just target the gas tanks and make them go boom? Or get in the batmobile and drive UNDER the cars and watch them fly off in to the air? Those were some of my favorite things to do in the original...

Yeah was pretty disappointed there wasn't any destruction in the singleplayer. The destruction is in the game though its just in the pvp and I feel like they didn't really make that obvious before release.

OH WOW OMG! IT LOOKS SO shit. The main selling point of the game is not in the game 10/10. God I miss games like Red Faction where you could properly level a city or blow a crater in the floor. Christ, even Mech Assault 2 let you destroy buildings but that game only come out 18 FUCKING YEARS AGO.
Crackdown 2 had the same keys to the city feature, and features like your character changing through level ups also existed in the second game.
Crackdown 1 had Keys to the City as well.

1 and 2 both have Keys to the City and are much better. 3 Is like... The Sonic Boom of the franchise.
It is the only one I will never 100%. Just too disappointing - which says more about the games it followed, than this one. It's just... Meh.
Dan has found a new Just Cause game with another title and a SLIGHTLY different theme.
One of the problems I have with this game is how the city is very clearly designed around destruction physics, what with all the flat concrete surfaces and reasonably simplistic architecture. And then they just... didn't do that, because the cloud computing didn't pan out. So everything looks super dull and you can't even remodel the surroundings.
The time thing is great for machinima

I really enjoyed this game, played through the whole thing by myself and played a little with my brother afterwards. Favorite thing that happened involved the stunt rings that you are supposed to drive a car through, we tried for about ten minutes on one of them in the slums and couldn't get it. I got frustrated, picked up the car my brother was in and threw it through the ring. It gave it to him, but his strength wasn't high enough to pick up cars yet so I still don't have that ring.

him torn between getting saints row 4 or this. on one hand i won't feel gulity punching civilians in sr4 cause, ya know i'm a bad guy v this with the built in and easy to udnerstand cheats but hero/superpowered cop.
When they first showed this game and the destruction capabilities using cloud servers i was really excited for the launch of this game, it was just ashame that that never came to life as that wouldve been amazing. Instead we got a fairly fun game which couldve been even better.

crackdown 2 was so much better than this and I only ever had the demo but I played it for hours and hours until my first 360 red ringed.
Whenever i think of getting a game i look for a video of Dan playing it and if he's havin fun then ima have a blast.... What im trying to say is..... Im gonna go get this game k byee!! :D
