Hi simon! I filed dormant accounts and it got accepted on 23 feb 2024. Now I got the notice for corporation tax return for the same period in which I filed my dormant company accounts. The date of issue on these documents is 29 feb 2024. Why is that? Because dormant companies don't need to file tax. Also I informed HMRC by call and online that my company is dormant. They also made my company dormant till 2028. So do I still need to file these tax returns, the notices of which I have been receiving?
Am doing my first self assessment tax return online for the first time, and I’m already experiencing difficulties where I can’t even login and get started, even though I have ID number, I honestly don’t know what to do, any advice or suggestions?
Hello I’m doing my self assessment tax return for the first time. I have worked few days from August 2023 and till February. So which tax year do I need to file my tax return? 22/23 or 23/24? Because it doesn’t give an option for 23/24
Hi Simon, I have a question, I am a pharmacist was locum from September till end of march is it better to submit a tax return as self or limited company? I already have a number as self assessment, I may locum once every month now as I am currently employed. I appreciate your advice
Hello, thank you for the video, I have a question. I’ve obtained my UTR number last year when I thought I was supposed to start as a self-employed, but the following week I started a new job with a contract so I actually ended up not using the UTR number, now I have to do the self-assessment as 0. My question is about the first question at Tailor your return, minute 1:49 when asking about being an employee. Do I need to still provide the details of my employer even if it was not a job as self-employment and I ve already paid taxes monthly? Thank you
You will need to provide details for both your self-employment and employment details I am glad the video helped You can phone HMRC to say that you no longer need to do another self assessment tax return
Hi I started my self employed work as a locum on April 3rd 2024 (this is the date of my first work) as self employed. When do i file my tax return? Thanks
I would not do a tax return for 2023/24 tax year as you would not have submitted your timesheet or been paid in that tax year. However, you would need to file a tax return if you had other taxable earnings
@@UK-Property-Tax-Accountants Does this mean the One day I worked before 6th April. I should declare 2023/2024 tax year? The bulk of my work has been done 6th April onwards so does this mean I will submit my tax return year 2024/2025?
In the section "5.Check your return" you have told us you: "were not employed; were not self-employed". How is this possible? It didn't ask me about being self-employed. And I'm filling Self assessment only because I'm self-employed. So how is it possible and how to fix this? And yes I'm registered in HMRC as self-empoyed and got my UTR number.

I've found the self assessment to be rather difficult, all I want is somewhere to fill in the amount I received from my private pension.....I've already paid my taxes, they tell me I've already paid my taxes but I have to fill in this form which contains language that doesn't make sense like 'did you recieve any uk pensions', I did, from my private pension....but it leads to how much State Pension did you receive, not private pension, aaaaaagh damned government morons grrr.

I don’t think this comment is relevant to self-assessment, but I have responded to your question on the limited company video
Unfortunately I'm unable to find the option to file a self assessment on the Personal Tax Account home page
Type into Google self assessment and it will come up
Any luck finding this Paul?

@eshitatak3349 you can’t do a tax return for 2023-24 as we are still in the tax year until 5th April 2024.
Does this automatically take into account your TAX free allowance?
It sure does 👍🙏
If another accountant has filed tax for me then where do I find the submission receipt
You would get it from the accountant
