    I Love your version of Soto ayam, and it looks much easier to make, not so many steps as the other videos for Soto ayam.... thank you for sharing, and I will be making this soon

    Fantastic recipe. I cheated and boiled some left over roast chicken in the soup, and used a bouillon cube to make up for the lack of chicken flavour broth. I added more salt and a dash of sugar to balance out the flavours and it was amazing. It was still great and honestly very easy and tidy to put together. Thanks :)

    Missing galangal and bay leaves to me, also i rarely see soto with chilli in it, usually we put sambal/straight up ground chilli in our own bowl in Indonesia. Otherwise, great recipe!! Very detailed steps and cooking method ^^

    Nice tutorial. Soto is considered a national dish from Indonesia. There are local soto varieties and each soto has different, unique taste.

    I always enjoy your clear step by step instruction. I visited Malaysia and tried Bihun Sup Utara. I believe it needs plenty of ingredients just like Indonesian Soto Ayam. I hope you will show us Bihun Sup Utara one day, too. Thanks heaps

    5:30 AM, here in the USA. 🇺🇸 That soup looks very welcoming! Thank you for showing us all how to make it.
    40 years ago, I ate at a wonderful Chinese restaurant. I had something I've never had since then. I LOVED it!! It was in Chinatown, Called, paper-wrapped chicken, OR, paper-wrapped duck. 🦆 Pretty sure it was paper-wrapped chicken. 🐔 That was 40 years ago! VERY delicious. 👍🏻 BEST meat I've ever eaten in my life. Do you happen to know anything about this dish, or, how to make it? Thank you so 👍🏻 very much. Have a beautiful day. 🌻

    So it’s basically a chicken curry soup... all the herbs and spices are used in making a chicken curry

    • @TasteofAsianFood
      @TasteofAsianFood  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Essentially it is quite similar, but the amount of chili is drastically reduced. The flavor is very different from Curry due to the coriander leaves and fried onion.

    • @franceleeparis37
      @franceleeparis37 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taste of Asian Food ... no... I think it’s the lemon grass and the coconut milk that changes it.... most good curries use coriander and fried onions as garnish.. but you have lifted it to another level.. I am ready to try this version

      If you use coconut milk the food become soto tangkar or soto betawi but in indonesia we used a beef not a chicken.

    • @andrewfelixferdaus8767
      @andrewfelixferdaus8767 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Francelee Paris we usually don’t put coconut milk in it, our aim is clean tasting yet rich and clear broth, if you consider it like a curry, you can’t be more wrong. The flavour profile is very different, it’s not very spice forward. Think of pho broth, would you call that a curry?

    • @andrewfelixferdaus8767
      @andrewfelixferdaus8767 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Francelee Paris another thing is coriander leaves are actually pretty hard to find in Indonesia, generally the garnishes used to top it are spring onions and small Chinese celery
