Hi Amir, you are a great orator and you taught these access lessons very nicely. I am a doctor but i learn access making forms n tables from ur tutorials. Nice work. Regards. From Gujarat India
Hi Girishi, not sure if I understand your question. You are asking to have ID no as 1 when you are on Row 2 or 3? If you the Data Type is set to Auto Number, you cannot change the number. The 1st row will start at 1. If you want to control the number, use the Data Type "Number." Hope that helps.
All the best. I have also created Exam prep videos for Access, here are the links: 2007 th-cam.com/video/othxQQvBOBw/w-d-xo.html 2010/2013 Microsoft Access 2010/2013 exam prep
Hi, try this: in the Form LAYOUT VIEW; RIGHT CLICK and Point to LAYOUT and choose REMOVE LAYOUT. This will allow for the field to be resized. Or if you want, when you create the form, go to create the form in Design View and than drag the fields to the form, this way you will have more control.
Hi Kirti, have you watched my Access video # 5. In that I talk a little about using Expression builder in Queries, the same concept can be applied to Tables. I am working on creating another video and will try to add more about Expressions in that one. Hopefully I will put it up in a short time.
Hi, make sure you are in the Layout View and then click on any of the Fields, once you get the Yellow border, you should be able to re-size it. If it does not work in Layout View, try Design View and click on the any fields and the re-size should work. Let me know what happens.
Salam & Namaste Matthew; I believe that could be happening as I am using Access 2010, if you go to the Design view you will see all the same buttons. Hope this helps.
Hi, yes you can do calculation in Access. In 2007 Access you can do calculation in query, form and report. In Access 2010 calculation can also be done in tables. watch my video number 6 on Expression builder.
Hi there. While inputting information in the textboxes (FirstName), there appears two arrows at the right end of the textbox allowing you to scroll up and down. It looks ugly and I want to get rid of it, or at least make the arrows not visible until what I type is long enough. I tried going back to the table's Design view and reduce the Field Size property to 20, but the arrows are still there. Can you tell me how to remove them?
Hi Amir, Can you create/connect local access database to my mysql database in Godaddy ? So each time new user register my local access database become updated so I can create a report.
Hi Girish, you can learn more advance features of Access Forms and Queries. The information in the 4 videos is enough to tell an employer that you know Access and also will enable you to pass a computer test like ProveIt. You can learn more about Access functions (macros) which uses VBA language. youtube will not let me put links here, Google "microsoft access programming language" I am hoping to make a video with some more things.
hi..i have a question...please help... Hallo Amir...Please help....My first column in the table is "roll no." and second column is "name"...so when I enter the roll no. in the first column, I should automatically get the name corresponding to that roll no. in the second column....How can i do it?? Thanks..
Hi, at 11:00 I can't move the fields and if I want to make it smaller it just selects everything and makes it smaller for every field. Can you help me out?
hi amir i found this video very helpful, but while i created the form and went to lay out view i did not able to drag the single column horizontally, all the columns dragged at a time, please replay
G Sanjaya In this video I must have showed the quick way of creating Form by clicking the FORM button rather than using the Wizard. So to fix the problem for now, while all the fields are selected, Right Click and go to LAYOUT and choose Remove Layout. Now you will be able to resize individual fields. Hope this helps.
iif([brand]="AVD" AND [Article] = 5,"Not for Sales", InputBox(prompt)) I am not sure about the "if not prompt blank". Do you wan a window to pop up with a box, where people enter something. Or do you just want nothing there? I am not sure if the InputBox will work, see this link support.office.com/en-us/article/InputBox-Function-17821927-28b7-4350-b7f1-4786575314d9
it does not get added automatically. You either recreate the form. Or in Form Design, look for "Add Existing Fields" in the Top/Right corner. And drag the new field to the Form.
@Amir Parmar, I have in issue in this video. Every time I try to create a form, it is not connected to my previous array it is like 2 arrays with the same name, instead of One Array and One Form
so you have a Table with fields and the Form is based on this table. and when you try to add or edit the Records via form; the changes are not happening?
I was having the same problem. I used design view and selected everything by clicking on the grid at which point you can drag across all of the boxes to select everything. Then you have to right click one of the selected boxes and and click "remove" under the layout sub-menu that appears. You can then freely move and re-size the various boxes. I am using 2007 though. You have to select all the boxes otherwise your screen can become difficult to manipulate. For anyone that cares.
This is soooo helpful for me and I believe for everyone else. But, there's something I'd like to ask. In my text book, there's a thing called 'Main Table' and I don't get it. Could please help me out with this one? I'd really appreciate it.
Aisy Dyah Rinjanita in what context are they talking about "main table" is it something to do with Relationship? If it does, the 4th video explains the concept of relationship between tables.
Hi Juan, for date queries in the criteria you can use the following statement that will ask you to enter the Starting date and then the Ending date. Here is the criteria: Between [Enter start Date] And [Enter End Date]
Amir, excuse...it's me again...jejeje...I want to know this (I hope you understand me): I want to put some roll buttons, and each one has a name...for example products: Milk, Rice, Oil, etc...and when I click on one roll button, I want to show information in one Text Field...jejeje, I know it's complicated, but I hope you can Help me...Thanks and thanks for this help.
Actually was in shortage of time so stated the above. nevermind. could you please add a video on access library management system with cool graphics and userfriendly ui. anticipating affirmative response from fellow Indian :)

Amir! salam? Namastay? haha. when i click layout view on the form, i do not get the many display options that shows up for you. Why is this?
i would like to know how to remove the anchor when all of the fields are together. When i resize one, they all are resized. Hate it.

Excellet vedeo for starters
hi amir, can i know what is the access format if [brand]=AVD and [Article] number 5 digi=5 promt "Not for sales" if not promt blank
iif([brand]="AVD" AND [Article] = 5,"Not for Sales", InputBox(prompt))

Thanks much Amir
I have a question...if I add a field to my table, will it automatically be added to the form?
it does not get added automatically. You either recreate the form. Or in Form Design, look for "Add Existing Fields" in the Top/Right corner. And drag the new field to the Form.
Thank you! I got that to work! You are a terrific teacher! These videos are such a great tool!
hi there when I try to move a box within the form it moves all the boxes how do move just one box around?
@Amir Parmar, I have in issue in this video. Every time I try to create a form, it is not connected to my previous array it is like 2 arrays with the same name, instead of One Array and One Form
So, changes I make in the array are not updated in the other form
postimg.org/image/tyxuqip6z/
(Πινακας means Table in Greek)
The exact same thing happened when I tried to do a query, it sees it a an array again
postimg.org/image/q6vuejhu3/
so you have a Table with fields and the Form is based on this table. and when you try to add or edit the Records via form; the changes are not happening?
I was having the same problem. I used design view and selected everything by clicking on the grid at which point you can drag across all of the boxes to select everything. Thank you so much Amir bro.

Yes, Access can create calculations, have a video on that topic.
