    Imagine if you could somehow convince a competing group (say, idk, a different race or religion) that nepotism is bad and they shouldn't do it, while at the same time practicing an extreme version of nepotism and in-group preference. Imagine the advantage you would quickly gain over that group in virtually every sector of influence and economy, even if they outnumbered you by a large margin.
    just a hypothetical scenario that popped into my head.

      @@vanillastarfish I don't normally give advice to internet strangers. However, if I were you, I'd do the following:
      1. Learn everything you can about money. Study personal finance, accounting, microeconomics, etc. Build up your savings and investments to the greatest extent possible. Don't tell anyone about your financial situation (especially your parents).
      2. Take care of your body. Get some exercise. Floss your teeth every day. Stop eating garbage. Regulate your sleeping schedule.
      3. Do exposure therapy if you have any phobias/anxiety. This is doubly true if you're socially anxious. Don't allow yourself to withdraw and become agoraphobic. The comfort zone is your enemy.
      4. DO NOT
      -- Get married
      -- Get a woman pregnant
      -- Get addicted to drugs, alcohol, or gambling
      -- Obsess over shit you can't control (e.g. politics)
      -- Sit around and wait for opportunities
      -- Take on any unnecessary debt
      5. Get good at something. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just develop any skill that you think could make you decent money and which you wouldn't mind doing for a living.
      If you do all of this, you'll be ahead of 95% of the population.

If your parents are cool with it, take the time to live at home to create your career or if you work for someone, save up for something better than renting a crappy studio apartment above the corner store downtown. As a musician, it was very nice to have acceptive parents and bc Im focusing 100% on my craft, its really helped me further my career as well as learning on my own every skill needed to professionally record, mix, and master all my own music.

    I'm really sorry to anyone who's got shelter insecurity or food insecurity due to lack of disposable income. I don't think there's any help/relief coming. • @coleycole5344
      @coleycole5344 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Admiral Kipper Man having a TH-cam channel and creating content is a business. You can start your own LLC with a cleaning business, lawncare, animal sitting, pressure washing, personal chauffeuring, write and self-publish books, create and self-publish art, you could be a personal teacher for a skill that you are real good at. It won't happen overnight, but build your talents and skills. Invest in yourself. You have to start somewhere.

    • @coleycole5344
      @coleycole5344 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Admiral Kipper Man let the normies think that everything is supposed to be easy. What won't be easy is if later in life you're thinking 'shoulda, woulda, coulda'. Invest in yourself, not now, but yesterday. It is actually easy, but the road is longer. You have a talent/s that you are hiding, but you don't want others to be jealous of you or to call you weird. You are dimming your light in some area of your life. God will make a way if you just ask and stay focused. Overnight successes only happen with people who compromise their integrity giving up their ownership revenues contractually to a corporation and/or doing 'favors'.

    -Keep your fucking word.

I worked with my hands for years (farming, carpentry, forklift driver) before I had skills to move on (industrial maintenance, industrial electrician) and while I did this, I finally knew what I wanted to do. While working as an industrial controls technician, I also studied and got my Electrical Engineering degree. Now I work at an engineering firm as a system developer. Take over my dads business after 10 years
    Of working with him. Biggest keys are knowing when to shut your mouth and do what you are told, working as hard and smart as humanly possible and being reliable. A lot of the time I would think of a better way to do the task we were on (we do repairs in stores for retail clients), and I would usually respectfully voice that opinion. If he said no I wouldn’t press the issue. I’d shut my mouth and do it his way. Eventually he started listening more, then actually doing it my way… and now he just asks me what the plan is because he respects and trusts me. “Latching on”and seeing the opportunity when he first asked
    Me to help on a job was the best decision I’ve ever made.

      @@MrLukedanger yes they can. Any country with decent and widespread hospitals need plenty of radiologists. English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. Many countries teach it in addition to their native language. If you went through enough school to become a radiologist outside the US you probably have learned English.

      @@clayjack9969 in England for instance you have to take the English version of the tests. So you can’t just move from America. Where as for a plumber you can just work for cash immediately.
      You also have to have a very good grasp of English to get an nhs job. Where as the plumber no one cares if you can speak English do the job that’s it

    The bit about embracing nepotism/favoritism is very true. If you have a relative in a field you want to pursue you would be an idiot not to follow them and use that connection. I think people would be suprised at how many sucessful musicians / actors have an uncle or a family friend that is a producer or an executive. Same thing in the business world. My uncle's advice when I started my first "real" job was to pay attention to the random personal stuff people would tell you. So then later on you could say something like "Hey Bob is Timmy still hittin those dingers every Friday?" He said people eat that stuff up and will remember that way more than whatever work you did that week.

    IDK i flunked pre cal in high school and then went onto graduate with a 3.5 in Electrical Engineering school. Now I make about 160k a year at 30 years old. Wasn't even that hard.
    My grandfather is also a multi millionaire and a member of Mensa and my Uncle had a PHD in Electrical Engineering (RIP). My dad worked as a successful corporate man in Asia so now that I think about it my success is mostly due to intelligence privilege and some amount of generational wealth. If you don't have those things you should probably give up.
