You could instantly see that the ‘preferred’ colours for Caroline really lifted her whole face. So I think it’s not that any colour is intrinsically ‘wrong’ (especially if you like it!), just that the ones in your palette will really enhance you. I also have a few questions: what about pattern? And what if you have pale, cool skin but with rosacea, for example? What about jewellery - silver/gold/rose gold, and different gem stones? Fascinating stuff! Thanks for sharing ladies 😍
Gold/copper / rose gold / bronze = warm undertone skin, silver / white gold / titanium = cool undertoned skin. Gems = same as any coloured material, warm gem colours for warm skin etc so emerald is a cool green so cool toned skin. I actually consider diamond to be too cool leaning for me so I prefer a blue or pink sapphire onyellow or rose gold for my warm skin.
I couldn't agree more. It's about wearing colours you love and feeling fabulous. But I really understand when people find the guess work when buying colour difficult and want to wear more colour but don't know where to start. Videos on pattern, jewellery and rosacea are fantastic ideas, thank you so much x
@Florinda Lucero you still wear your colours and cancel out the redness with skin tint, foundation or other products you use to assist with rosacea. If yore already cool toned then the redness is cool toned as well so wearing your colours will help you look better immediately
This was so interesting, I feel my grey/ white hair has really changed how colours look on me. Also great to understand why lady danger doesn’t look good on my lips , it loses it’s lovely brightness. Looking forward to autumn next week.
I just found this channel today and it's fascinating. You mentioned hair color and I think that would be interesting to hear more about...as gray hair appears and I feel washed out. Would love to fly to England from Alaska for a personal consultation!
Thanks ladies !! This is as so interesting and fascinating. Can’t wait till next week . Love the lipsticks and jumper on you Caroline . Anna could we have some lipstick choices for your undertone please 🤗💕
I’m so excited! I love Anna’s brilliant concept of color. I had my colors done in 1989. I have fair skin with a neutral leaning cool undertone. I was classified as a winter but when I added warm copper highlights to my hair, they changed me to a fall and I looked sallow. I feel great in winter colors! I even choose paint for my walls and decor that make me feel good! I lost my hair, brows and lashes due to chemo but whether I wear my dark brown wig or am bald, the winter still holds true. Oh Anna, I love you! Caroline looks smashing in her palette as do you! Looking forward to next week! ❤
Your words has made my day and I am absolutely thrilled to hear how your beautiful Winter palette is so uplifting and transformational. I also make interior design choices from my palette!! I bet you look utterly sensational in your colours and thank you so much for the message xx
Good morning, ladies! Wow, this is fascinating… I think the yellow jumper looked amazing with your colouring. Hope it’s sunny in London this weekend, it’s actually time to get the summer dresses out here in Munich! Have a lovely weekend! ❤xx
I was an 80's baby and oh god do I remember Color me Beautiful! I remember my Mom and her friends would have parties dedicated to finding your "season", back then it was all seasons, I'm a winter, I'm a spring...
Yes Colour Me Beautiful ……takes me back…..my friend is Spring and I am soft Autumn….we’d do a twice yearly clothes shop….on each trip one of us would find loads in the shops and spend for Britain whilst the other carried the bags …..and vice versa. Looking forward to seeing Autumn on Saturday
The spring palette colour palette looked great on Caroline especially the yellow ! I have had three seasonal colour analysis and have had three different results , however each time they had difficulty and said I am on the border .but I still love colour analysis I agree with Anna if you wear the right colours you feel great Caroline and Anna make a great team ,hope to see more videos like this ,really enjoyed it :)
I'm Spring, warm and bright. I was taught the fuchsia pink vs coral pink test to demonstrate my season - fuchsia washes me out and coral perks me up, so easy to see.
I think the yellow jumper looks amazing but then I think any colour would suit Caroline. This is fascinating, I’ve always struggled with buying anything other than black or white.
Absolutely fascinating. Anna's story is really compelling and you can tell, it is genuine, it comes from the heart. I have a very strong inkling that I am on the warmer side of things, (make-up-wise, I have always been matched NC20 light skin with warm-yellow undertones by every single Mac make-up artist, I have light to medium brown eyes and medium brown hair (with no red undertones)). I may contact Anna for my 38th birthday to get colour-matched😊. Thank you for sharing Caroline and Anna! This is such great content!
I’m spring and I was colour-coded over 30 years ago. Although I’ve kept my palette of swatches, I’m mainly guided by the tone, knowing that warm tones suit the undertone of my skin better.
I would love yo get my colour coding done, its such a complicated thing, I think we tend to gravitate towards colours we like not necessarily what suits us, great video ❤
Yes, it's an interesting balance and your Colour Personality is a huge factor here. I always make sure I align peoples' Colour Codes to colours they love as it's all about looking amazing and feeling wonderful x
Wow. That yellow looked amazing on you Caroline. I’m a bit confused nowadays. I had very similar colouring to Anna but I’ve recent let me grey grow out, which I love …but it’s thrown me on the high contrast front….. EDIT….just booked in with Anna and I can’t wait x
Oh my goodness! Run run run out and buy that whistles yellow jumper. You look like a radiant 20 year old in that! I’ve been watching you since you started and that is the most beautiful color on you.
This is a fascinating subject - and I think we all know when something drains us of color, even if we don't know why. I'm pretty sure I'm a Soft Summer, but often wear other colors that are not in my palate, but that I love, just wear them away from my face. Years ago in the mid-80's when this first came to prominence, I was told I was a Fall (when there were only 4 seasons!). I tried wearing mustards, oranges etc. which looked terrible. This was solely done by the person going by my hair color (which was a warm, coppery red at the time). Anna is correct - skin tone, and undertone are what determine your palette, and shouldn't change. Loved that bright yellow on you.
Wearing lots of colour you love is so important and wonderful to hear! How interesting you think you're a Summer Soft but were told you're an Autumn! I could talk colour all day! x
@@thecolourcode I'm pretty sure about my season (I'm an artist and have a good understanding of color and tone) but think my original Fall was when it was new, and the person was guessing from all the wrong indicators! I have silver hair, grey/blue eyes, cool, neutral skin tone, and look best in what I call greyed out shades and pops of raspberry and periwinkle. Now - that said, I could be completely wrong, and should probably have a professional tell me!
I am a Pillar Box Spring with House of Colour. It’s makes shopping for everything so much easier, every woman should have the benefit of one of these consultations.
Totally loved this video thank you both. I can totally see what other people’s skin tone is but not my own!!! I know what I’m asking for Christmas this year 😊
When Anna says that we see colour combined, not in isolation, I immediately thought of how you, Caroline, often relate the makeup that you choose to the clothes that you're wearing in your vlogs. As I think happens with many of us in our real lives. We harmonise the makeup choice with the clothing choice. And sometimes we can make a deliberate choice to clash them (I lived through the punk era first time around 🤭).
Fascinating subject - I’m still puzzling undertones for foundation! This was a great intro to why colour matching is important, but it was a bit too muddled to follow because of the jumping from one palette to another. Maybe stick to one season at a time and look at the three variations individually - i.e. Anna can film 12 videos go cover each palette and Caroline can film a corresponding 12 for makeup options on the same model.
I’m 49 years old and got my color code done at a beauty shop when I was about 13 or 14 years old. I’m a cool winter, like your guest and to this day I only wear the winter cool tones in my wardrobe and makeup. When you use the right color codes, your features just pop.
I do too Linda, especially for the slimming effect! And it does add contrast with blonde hair. I’d like to get the slimming effect with other colours too though, because sometimes I feel like a waitress or shop assistant in mainly black 😅
I had my colour wheel (as it was called then) done in the early 00s. I was told that I was 'Jewel Winter' which apparently meant I was the only element that could wear and suit black and pure white! Luckily I wear mostly black clothes. I deviate to navy blue or charcoal grey with occasional cobalt blue, primary red, dark red or purple. I also love emerald green and turquoise. I was wearing a teal blouse at the time and the lady told me it was an allowed colour because it was on the cusp so not my best colour but still a blue toned green. I wonder if as we age, whether my skin tone might have changed by now.
What a lovely video. My coloring is so similar to Caroline's. And I find that when I look in my closet that I'm always selecting the brights. I think I want to have my colors done.
I 100% agree with everything Anna said and her demonstrations were on point. Caroline you are being a bit stubborn in not fully believing in color codes because you have worked with color your whole career, but it is very easy to see that cool tones look bad on you where as warm tones look amazing on you. I just went and checked few of your videos of warm and cool colored looks and it is very clear that the warm ones look way better on you.
This was absolutely fascinating yet confusing at the same time lol. My sister had her colours done years ago and was told she can only wear browns, olive greens etc. I look at her wearing those colours and think she looks washed out. Yet when she tries to wear any of my colour clothes she invariably looks almost ill. Im really looking forward to seeing what happens next week as this is really interesting! Great video girls and thank you. Have a great week ahead xx
Really enjoyed this and looking forward to the next two seasons. I’m wondering about patterns, as so far you’ve used block colours, how do patterns work? Thanks for doing this. It did bring back memories of my mum and “Colour Me Beautiful”! 🤩
I can totally see you in that green jacket, Caroline! Why is that one not right for you? The yellow and green jumpers are pretty on you. What great info! Thanks, Anna!
I immediately see how beautiful the colors are that she chose for. Caroline totally brightened everything up. It was unbelievable I understand about not being able to find things. It happens to me all the time. At least you won’t be buying things that you have to send back because that’s annoying. The colors are brilliant on you. I want to do mine.
This was fascinating. I’m a soft Autumn, so I was told, but I’m not really sure? Some of the Spring palette definitely works on me. Is it possible to have elements of both? Anyway, more please! xox
Oooh, how interesting! I would love to analyse this! Spring and Autumn are both warm codes so there's every chance certain colours will overlap in your palette x
@@thecolourcode Thank you! I always thought I was a cool season as I have a lot of pink in my skin, but my colouring is dark blonde with golden hazel eyes. I guess I have a bit of both? I’m really not too sure 🤷🏼♀️😂
I was analyzed by John Kitchener which was so amazing. He said I am closest to a Soft Winter. I still struggle a bit with makeup. I think it is so interesting that Anna looks great in blushes and lip colors that aren’t too cool or too deep. I really relate to that. Maybe it is because the contrast is already there? Thoughts from the experts?
I could see what colours look best on Caroline. And what did or didnt work for Anna. So ... I ran to my closet and spend an hour in front of the mirrow (in daylight). I put on all the colours I have in my wardrobe, swapped them again and again. Am still confused though. I could see that some colours looked better on me. But to choose between white and cream, I just cant tell. Does black look good? I dont know. I think I need a consultation with Anna 🙂
I absolutely love this and am so excited to hear that you immediately had a moment with your wardrobe! I can't wait to connect you to your Colour Code x
You both look beautiful the colour’s really suit you I had my colours done many years ago I was told I was a soft with cool under tone don’t know what that would be now though xxx
Awsome video! Im your coloring Caroline so makes it easy for me. Running to get two if the hourglass shades. Loved Dove on you but what color were u wearing before changing?? couldnt stop looking at, beautiful!! Thx!
It's true that color palettes go through trends. We can spot the approximate age of vintage items just based on the colors. I've also noticed that the prevalent color stories tend to lean cool for a while, then warm for a while (1970's warm; 1980's cool, 1990's warm-neutral, 2000's cool-neutral). As Caroline said, a swatch book doesn't help if our key colors aren't available that season. Vintage is a good idea, but it may be easier just to stock up in years when your best colors are trending. Then in years when they're not, stick to purchasing neutrals.
I think I really need a session with Anna! I’m colour blind so I wear mainly black, white, navy and grey. So boring but safe. I also wear neutral makeup. I would love to add colour but I definitely need help 😅 Glad to see Anna offers online sessions so will have to book soon if the time difference with Melbourne will allow ♥️
Hi. If you reside in Melbourne, the 2 Italian ladies of the YT channel "Colour Analysis Studio" live in Melbourne. Re: black, black is only in the winter palette, but some bright springs & dark autumns can handle black too.
I would be absolutely thrilled to help you! It's incredible how we can feel colour, whether we can see it, and I would love to know if this is something you experience x
Hi ladies I think many of us have become somewhat used to which colours and undertones look the best on us over the years eg lime green makes me look ill lol. I have a cool undertone very pale skin, with grey eyes and naturally mid blonde hair (some white threads now and a few high lift tint highlights to blend them in). I can wear a lot of different colours, but the exact shade/tone of the garment makes a difference eg an orange leaning coral looks terrible, whereas a watermelon pink toned coral looks good. I can see when I put a garment against me if the shade is workable or not - sometimes a scarf can make a huge difference or if I'm wearing makeup or not. Pretty much any shade of blue works and most pinks also. I have always loved clothes and do window dressing/displays at work. I also like helping others find the garments they really love that make them look great - I totally agree about the fashion colours versus investment pieces. I advise people if they want to buy the fashion colours to buy them in affordable accessories - enough of that pop of colour they wanted yet not a huge investment. I've never had "my colours done", but I can see at a glance if a shade looks good on me or not. I think it will be useful for those who have a wardrobe of clothes they never feel "right" in however and may save them a lot of money in the long run. Best wishes.
How wonderful and fascinating to read, thank you. You clearly have an excellent steer on colour and know instinctively what suits you and others. Your job sounds so interesting! x
I'm having flashbacks! I did the drape thing in a Target store for Color Me Beautiful and the lady couldn't figure out why her drapes kept falling off into my lap. Then she looked at me and said, "oh, you don't have any shoulders. That's why my drapes keep falling down." 😂. Thus I became aware of my narrow, sloping shoulders. 😢
Omg! I so relate to only remembering the rude comment. I had a similar thing when I was fitted for a bra. The assistant told me one of my boobs was smaller than the other. I’d never noticed and it was the way she said it, as if I was flawed and that’s why I wasn’t fitting their bras. I had a complex for awhile until I realised most people have one boob smaller than the other 🤣
I had my colour analysis down about 36 years ago by a company called Colours in Canada. It changed my life because I was able to know what colour suited me and spent less time and money on clothing. They also had their own line of cosmetics for each season which were very affordable and very good quality. Unfortunately they are no longer here. I wonder if Caroline could let me know what brand and colour of foundation she uses. I see we have very similar skin tone as I have, fair but warm also can she give me the names of lipstick colours and brands. I couldn’t agree more that this colour analysis really works.
I am thrilled to hear this and delighted you are such a long-term and committed colour lover. It changed my life too and my mum's life! She has been wearing her Colour Code for around 35 years also and it's such a game changer x
@@thecolourcode after I had my Colours done many friends had their’s done too. One who thought they were a summer was correctly analyzed as an autumn. What a difference it made in her looks. As a spring I was told I can never wear gray hair and when going grey choose a blonde. I had warm light brown hair with a slight auburn cast when I had my colour analysis and now have blonde to cover the grey. I can understand how big an impact the colour analysis was for your mom, I still stay in my spring colours but sometimes it is difficult to find things and I shop vintage stores like you, just head for the colour and eliminate everything else❤️
If I take my makeup off and stand in natural light I will always look tired no matter which white tee shirt I hold up. My dark circles will always stand out.
And yet again, us light, neutral olive skinned are not even mentioned... I literally look grey-green and when i don't wear foundation or concealer, people ask me if I'm ill...
I enjoyed the video but didn’t really feel you covered summer at all. It was all spring. I was colour-coded as a cool muted summer years ago and would have enjoyed a bit more information on “summer” colours.
Great colour video, still confused, anytime I go foundation shopping, always get advised on way different shades by different sales assistance, very expensive mistakes to make, have been told am neutral than cool, hair has warm undertone,so am really baffled.
Thank you so much. I understand your frustration completely as foundation is such a tricky one to buy and , as you say, an expensive mistake. I'll explore this as a video idea for sure x
Here's the thing with me. I live in Ohio. Everyday is different. I wear whatever I feel like. I'm 64, gray, rosacea and wear no makeup. Tee shirt and Levis is my day. I don't go anywhere. It's just my life style. Caroline always brightens everyone's day. I think she looked gorgeous in that blue. I'm confused.
Perhaps you love to wear lots of colour and know what suits you so don't need the toolkit, which is wonderful! As a stylist, I found colour analysis transformative as it simplifies shopping so much with guaranteed results. But I understand it's not for everyone. x
I say we go back to the simplicity of Carole Jackson and Color Me Beautiful. It was spot on. I think, yes, Caroline is a general Spring (as am I) and Anna is a Winter. But I don't think Anna's makeup is Winter-flattering, with all due respect. It can muddy things to complicate things. Let's go back to intuition and generalities. If we know we are one of four... we're narrowed down enough... and can then work with that and experiment on shades on our individual selves, using what truly brings life to US... not according to a formula.
@@woboznz Wonderful, yes! You know your colours! x
I couldn't agree more. It's about wearing colours you love and feeling fabulous. But I really understand when people find the guess work when buying colour difficult and want to wear more colour but don't know where to start. Videos on pattern, jewellery and rosacea are fantastic ideas, thank you so much x
Right? Somehow in all the color me beautiful craze right now, nobody seems to consider what rosacea does to your tones.
@Florinda Lucero you still wear your colours and cancel out the redness with skin tint, foundation or other products you use to assist with rosacea. If yore already cool toned then the redness is cool toned as well so wearing your colours will help you look better immediately

Sounds like you're a Winter Bright and no, you're the same Colour Code for life! x
What a lovely video. My coloring is so similar to Caroline's. And I find that when I look in my closet that I'm always selecting the brights. I think I want to have my colors done.
Wonderful! I wonder if you're a Spring Bright x
I wonder if she got analyzed incorrectly as an autumn and should have been a spring?
@@lydiag8368 that is actually highly possible Lydia. I think I will ask her to do it again. 😊
Really enjoyed this and looking forward to the next two seasons. I’m wondering about patterns, as so far you’ve used block colours, how do patterns work? Thanks for doing this. It did bring back memories of my mum and “Colour Me Beautiful”! 🤩
I love this! Wonderful memories of your mum (and mine). A video on pattern is a brilliant idea x
I can totally see you in that green jacket, Caroline! Why is that one not right for you? The yellow and green jumpers are pretty on you. What great info! Thanks, Anna!
Thank you so much! x
Another fantastic video Ladies ❤ Caroline you looked amazing in your correct colours and that lipstick…wow x
Thank you so much! Caroline looked sensational! x
Caroline you look absolutely stunning today x
She is just so beautiful x
Thanks so much Caroline for bringing us the lovely Anna! Really inspiring ❤❤
Aw thank you! x
It's utterly magical right? Never doubt a purchase or colour choice again! x
Have been colourcoded 25 years ago. And it does help with shopping. I was not aware about the variaties though.
How wonderful! x
This was so good, so so helpful. Thank you Caroline and Anna. 💗💗
Thank you, thank you! x
I love this! Especially love the lipstick/ makeup suggestions!
Thank you! The genius of Caroline! x
I wonder if I could have my colours done please? If you could point me in the right direction
Thank you
I was analyzed by John Kitchener which was so amazing. He said I am closest to a Soft Winter. I still struggle a bit with makeup. I think it is so interesting that Anna looks great in blushes and lip colors that aren’t too cool or too deep. I really relate to that. Maybe it is because the contrast is already there? Thoughts from the experts?
How wonderful. There is a scale of softer colours in my palette so it was wonderful to see the colour choices from Caroline! x
Loved this, so informative👏
Thank you so much! x
If your veins appear blue/purple you are cool toned, green/blue you are warmed toned. If you can not tell, you are neutral.
Absolutely! x
So what color lipstick is good for summer?
I'll post about it soon I promise!
@@thecolourcode I think I might be a true summer?🌞
Ahh super enjoyed this. Anna is a great teacher. Does Anna have a YT channel? I love her energy!
That's so lovely, thank you! It goes properly active in 2 weeks! x
You both look beautiful the colour’s really suit you I had my colours done many years ago I was told I was a soft with cool under tone don’t know what that would be now though xxx
Muted (soft) and cool could be a summer.
@@d.-beck7205 thank you x
@@d.-beck7205 you're absolutely right! xx
Thank you so very much and I hope you love wearing your Summer palette xx

Wow, thank you so much! x
I do love black though, I feel happier in that!
It's all about feeling happy so that's great! x
Awsome video! Im your coloring Caroline so makes it easy for me. Running to get two if the hourglass shades. Loved Dove on you but what color were u wearing before changing?? couldnt stop looking at, beautiful!! Thx!
Thank you! x
This was a fascinating video , thank you Caroline & Anna. I’ve got colouring like you , Anna. Love the colour yellow. But it just doesn’t love me haha
Oh, interesting. I bet there is a yellow that looks fabulous on you!
How can we get the spiral of color swatches with the color variations for our color?
Anna what season can wear white white as opposed to creams ?
Hi. From other analysts, only winters can wear pure white. The other 3 seasons have their version of off-whites.
Winter x
@@kitty_s23456 Exactly!
The yellow looked amazing against your face Caroline!
Stunning wasn't it!
Very true! It's about wading through the trends and persevering with your colour search! x
Isn’t it more how we feel on the day and how we’re feeling to what we wear. I’m soo interested but id find it too much like hard work. Thxxx
I couldn't agree more. I find packing a challenge for this reason as I dress emotionally! Honestly though, colour does remove all the hard work! xx
This was originally done decades ago, your making it sound like it is a new thing.
Is it possible to be a neutral rather than a cool or warm? I would say I have a neutral undertone to my skin
Absolutely! There is a full scale of options and involves a draping analysis process x
@@kitty_s23456 thanks!
@@julesscarborough2619 you're welcome. I suggest to watch their vids - they have lots of good content.
Don't listen to them, you have wonderful shoulders!! xx
Omg! I so relate to only remembering the rude comment. I had a similar thing when I was fitted for a bra. The assistant told me one of my boobs was smaller than the other. I’d never noticed and it was the way she said it, as if I was flawed and that’s why I wasn’t fitting their bras. I had a complex for awhile until I realised most people have one boob smaller than the other 🤣
@@julesscarborough2619 more people are like that than realized
And with the optimum palette your eyes will sparkle, your bone structure will look sharp and your complexion radiant x
Could gou please name the lipstick? I got hourglass lotus and reef but what was the coral red color? Im same spring bright color code .
A fabulous Colour Code! x
And yet again, us light, neutral olive skinned are not even mentioned... I literally look grey-green and when i don't wear foundation or concealer, people ask me if I'm ill...
I will dedicate a video to you x
Does black translate to the colour code? Nearly all my clothes are black!
Black does appear in a few Colour Codes yes... it's always fascinating when we drape black and consider its impact x

Thank you Anna, that would be great
Here's the thing with me.
It's all about feeling good at the end of the day and using your wardrobe to lift you up. Thank you so much for the lovely comment x
I can’t get past finding the colour thing a bit restrictive and old fashioned.
I dunno
I get that it works maybe i’m just being ridiculous but …
Perhaps you love to wear lots of colour and know what suits you so don't need the toolkit, which is wonderful!
