Really appreciate this video. It's extremely selfless and kind of you to share this information with the public, especially that chart you made! Theres so many selfish dofus players but I'm glad theres people like you still :) Thank you!
Hey, great tutorials learnt a lot! I have a question tho. What do u think, which item would be the best to try add exo range on? treadfast amulet ( annoying coz of the %pow), malitiaman hat, or vigilante cape? im thinking about the vigilante, coz i can drop the ap and then add the range. But i cant decide, what do u suggest? Thanks
When you exo a 1% chance rune such as range, you want to use an item without ap/mp. Use the ap sink on your tread amu and vigilante cape to overmage another stat. Out of those three items you should put range on the malitiaman hat.
Look for items with high wisdom and high damage(not elemental damages, just plain damage), then alternate between them using Ra Wis Runes, and Dam runes, both are relatively cheap, and have a lot of power value, which translates to quick and easy XP.
Excellent video, however I was wondering, comparing your video to the chart you made that lists the sink values, why is the sink value on there, much different than what you physically say it is in the video? For instance on your chart you have the sink value listed for vitality at 0.2 yet a single vitality has a value of 1 pa has a value of 3 and ra of 10. So what does the 0.2 do in terms of the actual value? I wondered the same about other values that you have listed as mp reduction for instance which you set at 7, is 7 the sink value at +1 and +3 equally? I'd like to understand your chart fully. Well let me know please.
Hey! Good question, let me help to clear it up. On the chart, the sink value listed is for 1 stat of whatever row it is. For example: 0.2 is listed as the sink of vitality, and 0.2 is the sink of 1 vit. However, there is no rune that gives just 1 vit, only +5, +15, +50. If you multiply the sink of 1 vitality (0.2) by the amount of vitality that each rune gives (small gives +5) then you get the sink value of the rune itself (1). 0.2(Sink value) * 5(Amount of stat on small vit rune) = 1(Sink value of small vit) For your example of MP Reduction, a similar equation can be applied. All of the sink values I listed are the value of 1 stat. So while 7 is listed as the sink value of mp reduction, 7 is the sink of 1 mp reduction. This means 7 is also the sink value of the small mp reduction rune, because it gives exactly 1 mp reduction. However, when it comes to pa mp reduction, you have to take into account how much stat the rune gives, so in this case, pa mp reduction gives 3 mp red. If 7 is the sink of 1 mp reduction, 21 is the sink of pa mp reduction. 7(Sink Value) * 3(Amount of stat on pa mp reduction rune) = 21(Sink value of pa mp reduction rune) Let me know if that cleared things up for you, and if not I can explain further. -Ability
Debora Gonzalez I do that because I believe that overmages go on easier when the ap/mp are not present, although a lot of people add them back right away. I think there are situations where my way is best, but maybe not always. I'd say try them both yourself and decided which you like best.
If I have an item cleared of stats, lets say an inky veil for example. Where do I start the maging process? Does the item have a high sink value because of having no stats, is there any way to calculate this? Because when I first started maging, I had no idea what I was doing and I ruined 2 level 150 amulets to the point which I have no idea how to mage them back up. And at your first example when you dropped your ap and gained 100 sink, don't you also have sink from other stats that aren't maxed out? Sorry if my questions are badly worded, or hard to understand. :)
If an item has few stats, that doesn't necessarily mean it has a lot of sink. In your example of an inky veil with 0 stats, you would want to start with a magical orb to randomize it's stats back to normal. Using the orb will cost less and take less time than buying all of the runes needed. Sink comes from dropping stats while maging, not just missing stats in general. When I dropped the ap and had 100 sink, let's say that I happened to also be missing 10 wisdom (30 sink). I don't get to add that 30 sink to my 100 because that 10 wisdom didn't drop at the same time as the ap. The wisdom dropped one by one while I was maging the other stats on the item, and sometimes you get a +sink message without dropping something large like an ap, however, I tend not to count that sink because it's usually only +1 or +2 sink which isn't really worth counting. For example: If I got this message: "+1 Fire Damage -1 Dodge +Sink" Sure I got a +Sink message, but if you look up that values of each rune Fire Damage(5 sink) Dodge(4 sink) I only actually got +1sink, so not that useful. Sink is worth counting when the stat you drop is worth much more than the stat you gained. Like dropping a damage rune with a ra int rune. That would be +10 sink overall (Damage is 20 sink and ra int is 10 sink). I hope that answered your question, you only count the sink from the stats that just dropped, and not the sink from all stats currently missing on the item. - Ability
Hello, nice guide :D But i have one question, while exomaging to make this item 101 sink you need to try Exo it at 0sink or what?;d I kinda dont understand this part :[
Thank you! And for the 101 exo sink I will explain an example to make it clear. So we will look at this Meridian Cape: prnt.sc/e208de (Have this open while reading this) This cape is supposed to give 80 int, but it gives 91 (11 overmage) + an mp. Now remember that 1int = 1 sink and 1mp = 90 sink. So 11int overmage = 11 sink. And you only count the overmaged/exomaged stats towards the 101. So overmaged 11 int + exomaged 1mp = 101 sink -- because 11 + 90 = 101. Now I think you're asking how do you go about maging this: You always want to put the exomage on last, when you have 0 sink. However, to get the 11 int overmage you want to use the sink that you have from dropping another stat on the cape So for example: you drop the ap on that cape with a ra int rune, that leaves you with 90 sink (100 from ap - 10 from ra int) = 90sink Now, you use some of the sink getting the cape to perfect stats, and you have enough sink left to overmage int. With the sink you have left you use it to overmage the int to exactly 91, because if it was 92+ the mp cannot land because of the 101 sink rule. Then you add the ap back onto the cape at 0 sink. Then you add the mp exo to the cape at 0 sink. So you use the sink to get to get the overmaged int, and then when you have 0 sink, you try for the exo. This may be more confusing than helpful, if you don't understand let me know and I can make a video about it.
i wonder if you know about how to force the AP, MP, or range to go away in a perfect stats to over mage it , if my item stats is terrible i might need all the free sink to re mage it not to over mage it
Thanks for the video. When maging items without AP, MP or range. Should I be looking to totally dropping the damage or whatever the next highest stat to give myself some sink to work with? How does it work with stats that do not have a fixed value of 1? Since you have to drop them multiple times.
For items without a high drop stat, such as AP, MP, Range, or Summons, you can count the sink left by damage or another semi-high sink stat. It is your choice whether you want to add the dropped stat back afterwords, because there is a chance it will land, as well as a chance it will not. For items that have no high-sink stats, I call it blind maging. You don't have to pay attention to sink (unless you want to count the 1 or 2 you may get at some points, but honestly not worth it). These items are the best items to exo mage because they are the hardest to overmage or put res onto. That's why, for example, Bearbaric Bands are a common ap/mp exo. They have nothing to drop so it makes sense to exo them over something that you could put a res exo or overmage on. I'm not sure if this answered the 2nd part of your question "How does it work with stats that do not have a fixed value of 1? Since you have to drop them multiple times." I'm not sure I understand that part, if you have a follow up question or anything you want clarified let me know ^^ -Ability
i wonder if you know about how to force the AP, MP, or range to go away in a perfect stats to overmage it , if my item stats is terrible i might need all the free sink to remage it not to overmage it
ivana hasan If the items stats are terrible, I'd suggest using a magical orbs on it to randomize the stats. As for trying to drop ap/mp the higher sink Runes have a higher chance of dropping ap/mp. But there's no for sure way.
Sicinius Items start with 0 sink when crafted. And any time you equip an item it's sink goes to 0. Even if you just dropped an ap and have close to 100 sink, if you equip that item even for a second it will have 0 sink. The only way an item has starting sink is if someone maged it, got sink, and then you ended up with it without it ever getting equipped along the way. So pretty unlikely ^^
Sicinius Also, there's no such thing as negative sink. Zero is the lowest it goes. It takes stats after it hits 0 sink, and if there are no stats to take, it says failure
Thank you ^^ For you first question: Yes, +1ap -1mp = -10 sink, however, sink doesn't go negative, it stops at 0. The extra -10 sink will drop in other stats equivalent to -10 sink. For example: +1ap -1mp -10 str which leaves you at 0 sink. Whenever sink should go negative, it will take stats in replacement to make it 0 sink. For your second question: The hat gives 31-50 agi by default. So 51 agi would only be a 1 agi overmage from normal stats. The 101 sink only counts overmaged or exomaged stats towards the 101 sink. So it takes 100 from the ap and only 1 from the agi, because the hat is 1 agi overmaged when it has 51 agi total. Here is the chart: prnt.sc/dzct0w
How do you go about finding the exact sink when I don't have an AP or an MP on an item? As you said in the video, you used a Pa Vit Rune (3) to drop an AP (100) = Sink Value of 97. You would have 97 sink value at your dispense. My question is how to find a sink value without using MP/AP, generally items under level 150 for example.
For items without ap/mp you look to see what the highest sink stat that it does have is. Could be range, summon, damage, etc. And then when that drops you subtract the sink of what you gained from the sink of what you lost. So if I drop range with pa vit that is 51-3=48. So I have 48 sink. Items without any high sink stat are hard to overmage and still have decent other stats. Those items would be the best for exo maging because exo maging relies on pure luck rather than sink.
Dofus Reflex Oh wow, I didn't expect you to reply to an old video. Very appreciative :) Thanks to your clear explanation, I was able to understand and play with sinks in less than a day.
I always find my items unsold after many months. How do you make a profit by doubling the price as you mentioned somewhere in another comment? I've scanned through the market for terribad stats and I've vastly improved them, but no one seems to be buying them. I'm sure I've gone negative in my budget from buying the items, (admittedly also from buying runes) is maging a total risk and is your fortune pretty much based from luck?
Every item starts with 0 sink. For the gelano, it gains +100 sink when ap drops off, but you'll have to subtract the sink amount of the rune that made the ap drop.
Very basic guide, should've added more about % chance of sticking runes depending on their current values, for example when you dropped all the vit from unsuccessful ap you can use smaller runes for the lower values and still have 100'% chance to stick up to a threshhold. Understanding sink doesn't translate to understand how to mage, yes you will be able to mage okay with just that knowledge but theres so much more. Also, always put AP back on as soon as it drops, you said some people like to do it that way but I don't but it is the best way. Too long to explain why but basically it's to do with the % chance of losing the sink. Nevertheless this was a good beginners guide, and I apologize if this comment comes across rude. Always good to get more english coverage of this game on the internet keep it up.
badder borroda I'm still learning myself, mostly through practice since I don't speak any French xD (although I have watched French videos trying to pick up on only the visuals). Hello, nice guide :D But i have one question, while exomaging to make this item 101 sink you need to try Exo it at 0sink or what?;d I kinda dont understand this part :[
Thank you!
And for the 101 exo sink I will explain an example to make it clear.
So we will look at this Meridian Cape: prnt.sc/e208de (Have this open while reading this)
This cape is supposed to give 80 int, but it gives 91 (11 overmage) + an mp.
Now I think you're asking how do you go about maging this:
You always want to put the exomage on last, when you have 0 sink.
However, to get the 11 int overmage you want to use the sink that you have from dropping another stat on the cape
So for example: you drop the ap on that cape with a ra int rune, that leaves you with 90 sink
(100 from ap - 10 from ra int) = 90sink
Now, you use some of the sink getting the cape to perfect stats, and you have enough sink left to overmage int.
This may be more confusing than helpful, if you don't understand let me know and I can make a video about it.
i wonder if you know about how to force the AP, MP, or range to go away in a perfect stats to over mage it , if my item stats is terrible i might need all the free sink to re mage it not to over mage it
I wonder if this concept is the same on 1.29? The sink value.
