Good review! Glad you like it. I would suggest tucking the left over "1919" webbing from the shoulder strap into the slot in the back of the bag to keep from grabbing that in your draw stroke along with the EDC pull tab. I know they feel completely different, but it eliminates you accidentally grabbing them both. If you run some drills pulling the bag across in front of you and using your left hand as an anchor, it will make your draw stroke quicker, and help in the "Indexing" where the gun will remain in a similar position over the course of your training with it. Great review! Just a heads up they are YKK zippers. It is a style that allows you to use the webbing pull as you see there for an easier grip. If you look on the underside of the zipper head you will see YKK. Great job of pointing out all of the features and how you use it.

I saw your review. I think the size is great, however the conceal carry area isn't as covert as I'd like. Thank for letting my know how big the Vertx Courier bag is. I'm thinking their Sachel bag might be big enough for what I need.
Maybe it's a little bit too late to ask a question, it is not difficult for me to see it personal in the country I live. I would like to know how can the strap be adjusted, I mean the length of it, is it an easy job to adjust, I am concern about it coz I am riding on a bike, and needs to get it adjusted a few times a day.
After about 7 months I've given up on the Vertex bag its disappointing because it had such promise as a very discrete non tactical looking bag which is what I was after along with good organization. My reasons primarily were lack of functional pockets, excessive weight, excessive padding in the gun compartment, unbalanced design, and I didn't care for the sling design either. I ended up going with the 5.11 Lima messenger bag because of it superior over all functionality in lieu of the discrete look.
+G mac I "had" the Lima and my experince was just the opposite of yours, I thought the Lima was oversize and "floppy". Went the the Vertx for the same reason you went to the Lima...

OK....except that most right handed persons carry a case over their right shoulder that hangs to the left side - placing the concealed carry pull handle at the Back of the back....
In my humble.....the grab handle should be attached to fire arm,or holster....little fabrication and ingenuity.......boom...wait...there is holster that has handle to deploy...put that in bag..
Nice bag, but way to big. I find the bigger the bag the more crap I don't need ends up in it. When I had to travel for work I would carry a bag like this everywhere, and I hated it. Now that I work in the same place every day I keep everything I need at work. I use to take a laptop back and forth, but I don't even do that anymore. I have a bootable portable hard drive, I don't even take the power block, I have a spare at work. I have some USB flash drives for PDF's of documents (paperless office) and an e-reader for the train, oh, and my travel coffee mug. Got to have my coffee! I don't even always take my tablet, mostly not, really. Minimalist baby, the only way to go! After 20 years as a consultant and logging bags like yours all over the world in all kinds of weather I'm in heaven now.
This sits in the truck. It's not carried daily, so size isn't as much of an issue as in your example. In the event i have to carry it, it's still on 25 pounds. Easily carried all day. I also have videos of my laptop bag solution, which is much slimmer. Thanks for watching.
Brian Adams This style of concealed carry doesn’t work for me but that’s another video. However. If you were to carry this way you most certainly would NOT want to lock the compartment. That would make access impossible if you needed the pistol. And if you were carrying concealed with this bag you would never want to be separated from the bag. That would be irresponsible. Just my opinion.

Yes. It's very adjustable and even has little pockets you can stuff the excess strap into.
Just use a carabiner on the elastic to hold the water bottle down.

There are two zippers on each compartment. You can swap that pull tab to the other zipper

not really. it's a messenger-style strap. Can't really lock up high on your back. It's designed to hang at your hips.
